Date goes on sale for digital download?

it even says 4 oct for me (im in the UK)

dont want to buy it yet though until i can confirm it wont be locked by the time it finishes downloading. (i.e. not a mistake by steam)

i can get it from other sites for thursday on DVD and dont want steam to pull a fast one, leaving me with a locked digital copy until late friday.

PC gamers shouldnt be second class consumers... if they said "around" october 4th for the console users and then missed it or were very late all hell would have broken loose. There would have been calls for 2k executives to have their heads posted on stakes and put on display somewhere.

Punctuality matters. Especially when they could have easily.. EASILY had it available for download at midnight. Actually wtf.. they could have had the PC version ready for download long ago. Probably within hours of the game going gold and being sent for fabrication... but then the console users would have had a sh!t fit.

Just do the vpn trick, you can unlock it from the US release date.

Also it is up in Europe too.

Don't think it'll activate on Steam but I'm pretty sure Amazon allows you re-download games as many times as you want. Not a bad deal if you missed out on the Newegg $20 deal or are willing to pay a little more to not have to wait for shipping.

Just a quic question, as I'm new to downloading games: how long does it usually take to download a game.

BTW I have 4meg download speed broadband

Depends what sort of download speed you get from steam, just because you have a 4meg link doesn't mean you'll get that. I have a 10meg link, currently getting about 0.8meg per second, looking at about 3 hours I think
