Date goes on sale for digital download?

I'd prefer to get the game for Steam and just download it, but if it's not available for d/l by the time I get off work tomorrow then I'm just going to Best Buy and buying the retail copy. I don't want to wait for no reason like 2K likes to make you do every year waiting for this game on PC DD.

But seriously, how hard is it to stick to the release date. Couldn't they just plan ahead like every other company and send the data to the different digital providers a couple of days in advance so we users can pre-upload.

Only good thing about having a later release in europe is that the usually get all this sorted out to the eu release, last year i could download it 1 day before eu release

I think the steam store is the same globally, it's just prices and unlock dates that vary. There are, of course, ways around the european release date.
