The only concern I have is, let's say, I am happy with giving the user more control and make stick skills more relevant... But will basketball strategy/skill/IQ be able to overcome a highly skilled player with no basketball knowledge???

I mean, I wouldn't like to be consistently defeated online by a guy that is just able to run and gun like hell, pass, dribble and shoot (and cheese all over the place if that is still possible) like an angel but never run plays, or pick and rolls, or doesn't execute post moves, attack mismatches, etc...

I know it is a difficult question and perhaps impossible to answer it but I wouldn't mind to know your gut-feeling about it... For instance I have always thought that running basketball plays instead of just "pass-dribble-shoot" should have some kind of boost in the '2k world'...

Cheers!!!
My gut feeling is that in a 5-on-5 context, B-ball IQ will absolutely destroy dumb stick jockeys.

Maybe in the Park, the stick skills guys might have a slight edge compared to last year just because of how much space there is to work. But I really wouldn't worry about it. My goal in all my tuning will always be to reward smart basketball over stick execution. If you don't feel that we accomplished that out of the box, let me know and it will be corrected.

Thanks again. Surprised you came back for a second day. But glad you did.
1. Tap the Playcall button, press the action button of the player you want to run quick post for, flick RS to select "INSERTNAME POST UP"

2. Yep, this was one of the primary goals of the offball collision system.

And it was at THAT MOMENT that Kushmir, mild-mannered videogamer...knew 2K17 would be a gem.

I'm not sure if this problem was being caused by the court being too small, the player models being too big, or the defender's off-ball movement speed being too fast.

But the result was that the best spots to make a post entry pass in 2K16 Pro Am/MyPark/Team Up were from several feet behind the three point line at the top of the key, or from a few feet inside the half-court line on the wings, which is completely backward from you're taught to do as a guard in basketball.

Will corner and wing shooters finally be able punish defenders who recklessly leave them open to go double team low block post ups in 2K17 Pro Am/MyPark/Team Up?
Our player/court size scale is accurate, so it's not that. I think the main issues were pass speeds and close out speeds being too fast. Both of the latter were tuned and I think this is much less of an issue now.

This thread has been an amazing read, I can see why Mike is so highly respected it's very much appreciated!

It's unfortunate we don't have a game reel or a game recap menu like in the old 2Ks specifically 2K12. The post-game show in 2K16 just features the player of the game and no 2nd half highlights which I'm hoping has been included in 2K17. It always feels strange to transition back to the studio for a show that just covers one player. The pre-game and half-time show is excellent so I hope the post-game has caught up.

Currently automatic. I'll see if we can patch in the Left stick check.
Just to follow up on this. My shots engineer was able to make this change. You'll only get the pump fake fouls if your Left Stick is pushing towards the blocker. It'll be patched in.
