If you lose a considerable amount of confidence you will lose that release point line at the bottom of the analog shaft and on the push up it will be more challenging to match the hollow ball icon at the top of the meter.

Also, it has been said that how long you hold down the analog stick determines how hard you throw and what direction you throw it determines how accurate your throw is ... In analog throwing, what determines how quickly your fielder releases the ball?

For example, how do you differentiate between taking your time with a throw versus quickly sending off the throw with a quick release?
As soon as you are moving the stick the system is calculating throw strength and accuracy.
The throw strength meter grows underneath the player with 3 rings (Green, Yellow, Red) Green indicating a softest throw and red indicating a strongest throw. Surrounding the strength meter will be the accuracy meter: green means perfect, yellow is iffy and red usually means you are going to get off a bad throw and commit an error.

So if you wanted wanted to get off an easy throw you would lightly point the right stick toward the desired base, watch the strength meter swell to the desired spot and let go. The accuracy based on your input will show up immediately after the strength meter fills.

Has fielding really been improved with analog? Do you actually feel like user input has a direct impact on errors? In the past all errors just seemed totally random. Is there still a arm strength meter for throws? Does it actually work this year or is it still broken? Now that you have had a chance to experience all the new analog controls do you feel you will be using analog for everything or are there certain areas where you will stick to buttons? Which analog feature (batting, pitching, fielding) do you feel has been implemented the best?

Thanks. Sorry for all the questions, just really excited about this years game.
Fielding will be up at some point tomorrow afternoon! Stay tuned

For those who have played the game, and have also played the NCAA series.. How does the analog fielding/hitting compare to what was in that game?

What is similar?

What is different?

But this is how you can throw at different speeds, but what about how quickly you release the ball? For example if you field a ball cleanly and have all the time in the world versus if you pick the ball up deep in the hole and need to release it quickly? Is it just how quickly you move the analog stick and release it?

No, the animations are going to dictate the tone of how fast they get throws off. Preloading your throw will yield the fastest and cleanest throwing animations. Obviously the strength input with the analog meter create the sense of urgency as well or lack of.

Ok so you are saying I CAN pitch online from behind the pitcher view?? That would be pretty sweet...

I've read through most of the Q&A and I have just 1 question, will you be able to choose "timing only hitting" and play on Hall of Fame or Legend difficulty? TIA!
