So - you some of the gamechangers actually questioned the impact of OS on sports games today?

NBA 2k13 just announced a new control scheme that will allow the user to control things at will.

Shockingly enough, this exact control scheme was detailed a bit here:

http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2040837592

There's plenty of this around the site - but it doesn't matter who gets credit. The end result is a more enjoyable game for US to buy.

No question OS is the best place the devs can come to for info and idea's. There are some talented people here with great idea's to implement into the game.

As good as 2k is with there movement and animation, I can hardly wait to see there new physics engine in motion. Bet it is incredible, even at just it's first year. Bring on the gameplay vid's!

Just imagine if EA had competition from 2K this whole time. Madden would almost certainly be leaps and bounds better and more innovative than it has been. It would have to be to keep up. Just look at EA's NBA series. Used to be a staple, now I'm unsure if it's still being made due to the fact that it's completely overshadowed by its competition.

Competition drives innovation.

There's no doubt in my mind 2K kept EA on their toes constantly in the past. Always been a Madden loyalist, but EA, in large part, has 2K to thank for that (and I wasn't a big fan of 2K5).

I know. I know. I'm beating a dead horse. :/

Ryno, Casey, Shaun or RGiles, have either of you hear Ball Hawk mechanic on defense. They are now advertising that for the demo.

Thanks.

Good question Road and of course my follow up is, why the heck is it just labeled for defense? lol. Can EAGCs please relay to the devs for Madden 14 that the animations and DPP for going after the ball be interchangeable between offense and defensive players? For example, I think this year defensive player are able to access the 430 catch animations and offensive players should be able access the pass defensive animations to "become the defender" to attempt to prevent INTs.

Re: The more videos I watch, the less I seem to see the impact of the Infinity engine

"Ball Hawk" could be referring to the new "tighter" User control that was touted in the game play reveal #1, that keeps the player from flying all over the place.

"An additional aspect of the new catching system is the change to user catching. Many users have expressed frustration about how hard it has been to take control of your receiver and actually complete a catch. This is an area of the game that really separates the elite from the rest of the pack in the online world. This year we have slowed down the control when clicking on a receiver and made it much easier to take control when the ball is in the air to help position the receiver to make the catch. However, hardcore players shouldn’t be alarmed as we have had several community day members that were experts in this area give us their stamp of approval. The goal here was to try and get more users to not be fearful of clicking on and trying to make a catch." http://www.easports.com/madden-nfl/n...fl-13-gameplay

Does anyone else notice that when they advertise Real Time Physics that most of the pictures and stuff deals with people getting hit in the air? How many times do people actually use the jump button anyways, let alone use it for no reason as it appears they use it to advertise the physics?

Madden '05 , to this day, is my favorite one and I played that and NFL2k5 equally because they both had somethin about 'em that I really enjoyed. Ah, the good ole days...when there was competition and we had a choice
