It's a good question to pose. But they have nerfed everything else so I'd imagine they would have nerfed it anyway. We just need good responsive sliders that work.

I knew I read that before. I even asked them on twitter and of course, was ignored.

Re: Kicking back to automatic, why?

This hurts so much. One major thing they went backwards in again. I have almost never missed fgs or xps from like Madden 07 to Madden 16....this year during the ea access trial and on to release week, I could not stop playing this game, like it was 05 again (I was addicted to espn 2k5 for about 5 years...and then 2k8 for 3)...anyways I got through about 3 seasons of my cfm, playing every game, 15 min 15 rundown....each season with Dan carpenter I went close to 70% on fgs and even missed around 4 xps a year....Extra Points!!!! Even 50 games in, I knew even getting used to the New meter, I still missed fairly often and was so thankful that It may have finally mattered...then the fixes came, and I'm back to never missing, even if I don't hit It in the meter....wtf?....I unfortunately bought this digitally so I can't play without the patches...never again on that note...so I went from playing this game nonstop for around 5 weeks to slowly watching this game revert backwards to 16...now don't get me wrong, 16 was good to a point, but release day Madden 17 was an answered prayer FINALLY...it was so fun, and now I play now and then, frustrated for losing what felt like the best Madden ever or at least since 05, that was a pretty good year for football and it felt like we almost had that back. I hope they at least look into fixing the slider...or some option that makes the accuracy smaller or a meter speed slider...please make me sweat during a game winning field goal, please let me feel doubt again....I've lost a few games in the beginning and it felt glorious....now like others have said...get me to at least the 38 and it's a gimme

Re: Kicking back to automatic, why?

After reading about rookie mode I fired up a game and tried it. Now it's not for me but I noticed something. On rookie mode the speed is a snails pace and the black area is really wide BUT if you miss the black area you will miss the kick it goes wide right or left. On all pro and all madden you miss the black you still make the kick. I think the target zone is as wide as rookie now they are just tricking us by making the black small but you still have a pretty wide range where you will make the kick.

The solution seems pretty obvious. Make online use rookie special team settings and give us back our out of the box kicking or if it misses black the kick goes offline. If that's too hard for some offline players just crank your slider up to 100. You can't adjust the slider below 30 specifically 28 before everything is auto shank. I'm not sure how easy it would be for them to implement but that seems like a reasonable fix.

In the game today in London a missed xp and a missed chip shot in OT were the difference in a game that led to a tie. Sim players need a working a slider.

Re: Kicking too easy after nerf?

I think they need a simple accuracy meter. Have it speed up significantly depending on kicker rating and clutch moments in tough situations. EA don't make it difficult !

Re: Kicking back to automatic, why?

I would love for them to fix the kicking accuracy slider but I am fearful that if they do and we adjust it to our liking that the CPU will shank field goals if we set it too low due to the fact that the User and CPU share the same special teams sliders.

Re: Kicking back to automatic, why?

Thanks to Booker, this is a video of what kicking looks like if slider is below 28

https://youtu.be/V0XpICD-vXE

And to JayD's point, we need separate special teams sliders for human and AI in CFM.
