Again, no one is saying that Madden NFL 25 didn't put up big numbers. However, having a big time anniversary game sale lower than the last shouldn't be overlooked either. So to me, it is up for debate.

See, now you're just comparing first week sales instead of overall estimates from vgchartz, released as many consumers are spending/preparing to spend $600-$1000+ on next gen consoles - including many purchasing next gen Madden. It's not a simple YoY comparison. Enjoy your debate.

A statement that I'm not sure has ever been true outside a handful of use cases.

Looks like the same madden....with texture upgrades.....pants, jerseys , helmets and skin have been tweaked from last year.....

1.)Player models seem the same
2.)Movement is identical
3.)player equipment is the same

Sorry, to me that isn't a gameplay trailer, it's just a CGI trailer.

Show me footage of someone actually playing. That's gameplay, not this.

That is all true. At the same time, when you consider that before the exclusive, Madden sold about 9-10mil on all platforms, with 2K also selling about 4mil that last year IIRC, you have to ask yourself, where did the other 8-10mil Football videogame fans go (I'm sure some bought both, so it isn't as easy as splitting the difference)? If they outgrew the game, how come they haven't been replaced?

While Madden is definitely successful based on numbers of copies sold alone, without even factoring how little it costs to produce it on the technical side due to its iterative-ness, when you look at how much the gaming industry has grown over the last decade and the popularity of the NFL, you also can't help but realistically conclude that EA/Tiburon has failed pretty miserably in growing the brand to much higher levels.

So opening sales don't matter? They virtually mean nothing? I'm not accusing you of saying that, but I think that's what you're saying. If it means nothing, why is it being reported of something of significance?

My point is, the stats matter. Estimates or not. Be it opening week or total overall sales. If you can come up with the differences not included in vgchartz than I like to see it. I don't mean that in a sarcastic way, I'd actually like to know and I'll try to find it myself.

Let's back on point.

The sales are still strong despite doing lower numbers on a special anniversary game. However, what company thinks that doing is less is okay? None that I know of or else they wouldn't be around much longer. A company always wants to outdo itself.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying it is open to debate. It will be interesting to see how the next open sales do along with the overall sales of Madden NFL 15. Believe me, I want to give EA Sports my money. I'm rooting for them, not against them.

Yep and that's why my gaming life is much happier than most. I recognize that it's video game and that EA has no incentive or desire to make the game sim. So I accept it for what it is.

The game hasn't had accurate pass interference in almost a decade but people are expecting Madden to have Accurate AI when it comes to things like containment?

To the people who are disappointed please continue to not buy the game. The only way that EA will hear you is with your dollar. But if you buy the game and bitch about things that you know will never change....just stop.
