I actually liked last year's game. It wasn't perfect but there was a lot of good things in it. For me it's always the small things such as details, accessories, gameplay, etc. I remember growing up as a kid how EA would always knock it out of the park with Madden and you'd wonder what they'd come out with the following year to make the game better.
The best thing I or any of us can do that's a huge fan of the NFL is not hype it up too much. Hope for the best but expect the worse. There's a chance for innovation to be brought back like it used to be. Especially since it's next-gen, I guess we'll see..

Honestly, as long as game play, AI logic, and better presentation is there, that's something to celebrate. Also, bringing back or bringing in new features will also help. Game ticker, CPU vs. CPU in CFM, multiple EA game faces, etc. I'm a big fan of pre-game and half time shows in because as a guy who likes to cimulate and spectate, the presentation is a big chunk of the experience for me. The A.I. having real stats and showing elite players playing elite is another big thing. That of course will translate into good game play. That's my opinion anyway.

Wow it looks like EA pulled the usual now that I have watched it over and over... They add true step as a big feature last year and it doesn't appear they have touched it from what I can tell. I guess it will only be the ball carrier again... Oh and don't forget it looks like the living sidelines are as dead as last year... SMH...

Wow, I didn't even look into sales. Maybe that will make EA pay attention to people who want features in that never should have been taken out. It baffles me how they think people would be okay with the idea of less features going forward to any game.

Underwhelming but i'm not surprised. I expected this and honestly, i don't know why anyone else is surprised.
