UTSA BLOWS OUT CENTRAL MICHIGAN; GOES INTO CONFERENCE PLAY 3-1

The UTSA running game was truly firing on all cylinders as they blew out the Central Michigan Chippewas 41-21. They amassed a total of 442 yards on offense, with 231 of those yards coming from the running game. Corbin White had a breakout game, rushing for 198 yards on 43 attempts with three touchdowns.

"He (Corbin), was our workhorse today. Definitely had a game to remember, especially considering he came into the season as a backup running back," offensive coordinator Jake Carlisle said after the game.

For those who didn't know, UTSA's starting running back Jarveon Williams has been out since the first game of the season with broken ribs.

UTSA will travel to Huntington, West Virginia next week to take on the Marshall Thundering Herd, a team who comes into the game 3-1. Go Roadrunners!

Re: Jake Carlisle-Becoming a Spartan

UTSA GETS 4 COMMITS ON EVE OF MARSHALL GAME

This past weekend, UTSA received commitments from 4 recruits, all of which were desperately needed. The biggest one is three-star fullback Tyrell Mills from Georgetown, Texas. He is the the #7 fullback is the nation, and comes in as a good all-around fullback, in rushing and blocking especially.

The next commit is one-star fullback Michael Smith, out of Keller, TX. He is the #54 fullback in the nation, and should serve as a solid backup to Tyrell Mills in the years to come. While developmental, he has definite upside.

Next on the list is two-star tackle from Baytown, TX Jeremy Williams. He already has good size, coming in at 6'6", 276 pounds. He may redshirt his first year to work on his blocking skills, but could become the anchor on the offensive line over the next few seasons.

Finally, we have one-star JUCO transfer guard Reggie Davis. He is 6'3", 260 pounds. He originally hails from Mission Bend, TX, and also will likely redshirt his first year on campus to improve his blocking. After that, he could also become a mainstay on an offensive line that currently lacks depth.

The biggest remaining targets include middle linebacker Kellen Howard, defensive tackle Shane Brock, and center Mike Davis. Until next time, Roadrunner nation!

Interested to see what this 3 star full back ends up like, don't think I've ever got a guy with more than 2 stars at FB. Could come in very handy if you keep the running game producing yards like you have been doing.

Big win over Central Michigan, be following to see how White does in the next few games after the breakout. Definitely don't sleep on Marshall, will need a solid performance to put them away. Good luck!

Definitely excited to have Mills. He's a solid fullback who will probably be used somewhat frequently, especially on the goal line over the next few years.

White has been very good starting so far and is definitely making a statement that eh could be starter when Williams returns. We'll see if that happens. As for Marshall, you'll see later tonight what happened there! [emoji6]
