Definitely a tough loss to Tulane, which was made even worse by Williams good performance in his return. Hopefully we can beat North Texas, although I thought the same about Tulane!

Yeah, as I said, definitely expected a win there. But another win or two is easily within reach to get into a bowl game.

BREAKING: JAYLON HENDERSON STAYING WITH TEAM

Jaylon Henderon, star quarterback (at least in San Antonio) for the UTSA Roadrunners, has elected to stay with the team for at least one more season. He announced this at a press conference at the Park West Athletic Center. He said that he would "work on his durability for the rest of the regular season and over the offseason." This announcement comes after rumors he would leave the team after this season following a string of injuries that would cause him to leave games. This is good news for the program, who would be left with two quarterbacks with game experience if Henderson left.

DALTON STURM TO START VS NORTH TEXAS

Dalton Sturm has been named the starter at quarterback for UTSA after a good week of practice, both in the weight room and on the practice field. "He [Dalton] has looked good so far this year, and he's finally, I think, getting rewarded for his hard work by getting the start." This was said by Offensive Coordinator Jake Carlisle about the decision. "Coach [Coker] gave me the responsibility to make the decision, and I'm trying to justify his faith in me by making the right choice," Carlisle said. According to both Coker and Carlisle, Sturm has not only been excellent in the weight room, but also in learning the whole offense. "Dalton has really dove into the playbook this year. Not only does he know his job, but he knows what the receivers have to do on each play, the running backs, the tight ends, and the o-line. He could play any position on offense if it was based of knowledge alone," said Larry Coker, praising his young quarterback's knowledge of the offense. Hopefully,he can pull out the win against North Texas. Go Roadrunners!

UTSA OVERCOMES SLOW START TO BEAT NORTH TEXAS

UTSA's offense came into the game under new management, as it was being led by Dalton Sturm, the redshirt sophomore, who was taking over for Jaylon Henderson, who will be out for the remainder of the season.

The offense started off slowly, scoring only seven first half points. North Texas, on the other hand, scored 24 and looked to be UTSA's second loss in row. However, Offensive Coordinator Jake Carlisle made the necessary adjustments and sent in Blake Bogenschutz and Corbin White to relieve Dalton Sturm and Jarveon Williams, who were both struggling.

The second half started out well for the Roadrunners, as Bogenschutz hit Kenny Bias across the middle for and 82-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the half. Later on, however, UTSA was driving when both White and Bogenschutz went out with injuries. White, who suffered a concussion, will be out against Louisiana Tech, while Bogenschutz will either be the starter or backup.

One key stat from the game are UTSA's 43 second half points, including 29 in the fourth quarter! Meanwhile, North Texas only managed nine second half points.

Final Score: UTSA 50, North Texas 33

Next up: the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. This matchup will determine who represents the C-USA West in the Conference USA Championship Game. Go Roadrunners!

Thanks! Hopefully we can get more season tickets holders down in San Antonio. It was a nice bounce back win, I agree. We needed that to keep in the conference championship race, and we got it!

Re: Jake Carlisle-Becoming a Spartan

Sorry about the inconsistent update schedule. I really don't have the time to do anything with this during the week, with school and whatnot. Weekends are usually when I have a lot of free time; thus, a flood of updates! Again, sorry. Over breaks during Christmas and the summer I should be able to update on a more regular schedule, but I'll just have to make do for now. Thank you for your cooperation.
