Wow. @USC and your 2nd bye week isn't until Week 12. Stamina could play an issue during conference play! Goodluck. I'll be following.
Yeah, I wanted to get Texas State (our only rival) on the schedule, and I also wanted a tough non-conference besides Arizona, hence USC. Thanks for the luck and the follow!
Like that recruiting class. If you can grab all them, you'll be extremely competitive in the future. Looking forward to this
Thanks! Basically what I do, is grab 2-3 recruits at positions of need, and then put others on at what I think needs more depth. I total, I put about 14-16 on the board per year, and it works really well.
Texas State enters this game fresh off a road win over Southern Miss. Meanwhile, UTSA is playing their first game with new offensive coordinator Jake Carlisle, who just recently ended his tenure as a graduate assistant under Mark Dantonio at Michigan State. Expect UTSA's defense to keep it close, but the offense to be unable to find their footing against a good Texas State defense. We have Texas State taking this one in the Alamodome
The UTSA Roadrunners got their first victory of the season today against the Texas State Bobcats 37-22. They played impressively on both sides of the ball in the first half scoring 31 points while only allowing seven. However, at the start of the second half, the Texas State defense buckled down, only allowing two field goals in the entire half. The UTSA defense, on the other hand, allowed 15, through a touchdown and a 2-pt conversion, as well as another touchdown. However, UTSA's defense held strong and the offense did more than enough in the first half to ensure the victory.
"We played well in the first half, definitely. However, we weren't really able to close out, and we had to rely on the defense," said offensive coordinator Jake Carlisle after the game.
However, this victory came at a price as starting halfback Jarveon Williams went down in the first quarter. It was late revealed that he had suffered broken ribs and would be out for an undisclosed number of weeks. It is believed that he will miss a good chunk of the season. In the meantime, we wish UTSA the best of luck for their next game. Go Roadrunners!
