Re: Rally Sons of Notre Dame - Jrex's ND Dynasty

Just an update, the off-season is complete. I posted the big coaching changes, the couple draft picks I had (nice surprise), and next year's depth chart with a few new faces included in the two-deeps.

We are still a one star program, so no recruiting 4-stars this upcoming season (not that any have us in their top 3).

We are putting together another tough schedule this season (going for an A+ schedule every year). I will work on putting together a graphic for the schedule hopefully this weekend.

I know that I had a ton of posts yesterday (I was home sick all day). Looking back there are a few posts that I wanted to do, but forgot due to trying to work quickly and not feeling well.

That being said, I know that I worked pretty quickly through Year 1 and to be honest I did want to get to Year 2 quicker as the team will have my first recruiting class and I hope to have some good story lines to work with there. I have looked back at the posts from Year 1 and I think I have some ideas on how to slow it down just a bit and make the posts more in-depth and fun to read.

The team has improved despite still being a one star program. Our Offense is rated at 83, Defense at 80 to give us an Overall Rating of 81. That should be enough to get a few more wins and maybe even be bowl eligible. Championship Contenders has us ranked 93rd to start the year. Plenty of room to grow there.

Lastly, our recruiting pipelines have dried up a bit with only IN, OH, IL, and CA being pipelines at the moment. Illinois and California are at risk to be lost next year as well. This has affected our recruiting targets, and we are focusing on our usual IN, OH, IL, and MI guys along with prospects that have us as their top school regardless of the state. We aren't in the position to be picky about who we go after right now, but in the future we hope to pay more attention to which states we have as pipelines.

I hope you enjoy Year 2. Coach Bax's seat is starting to warm up after a whole season of 100% job security in year 1. So we will see if we can pick up enough wins to be here for Year 3. Thanks for reading.

Pre-Season 2014 (Season 2) NCAA Recruit Profile

I wanted to give a quick glimpse at a Josh Rosen-esque recruit coming out of Texas. He is the #1 rated QB as a Pocket Passer which has become more and more rare with all of the elite small dual-threat QB recruits now-a-days. I wish that we were in a position as a program to recruit him as we do need a new QB to replace Calvin Lewis next year.

Recruiting Profile – Bert Murphy
Bert Murphy | QB
Deer Park Deer, High School Senior, Deer Park, TX
Height: 6'3" Caliber:
Weight: 201 Considering: Ohio St, Alabama, Texas A&M
Position Rank: 1 Overall Rank: 2
EVENT 40 YD BENCH SQUAT SPARQ
High School Workout 4.66 305 205 100.40
Scouting Report
Bert is the nation's #1 rated Pocket Passer. He has NFL height standing at 6'3" and makes difficult throws look easy with his strong and accurate arm. Whichever school lands Murphy will have a potential 4-year starter that could continue on to the NFL. He is one of the best prospects in the whole recruiting class and is drawing attention from the nations best programs.

Murphy impressed scouts throughout his junior year and during the summer camps across the southern states. He currently only has one Texas school on his radar in Texas A&M, but you have to believe that the other Texas schools will begin reaching out to him soon. Currently Ohio St are the favorites to land the coveted recruit. The Buckeyes will surely be touting last season's National Championship win as a major recruiting point for Bert.

A tough loss to end the season but the future is looking bright. I am looking forward to seeing what season two brings. And my Hokies too... maybe there is next year for them as well.

Good luck my friend and nice work with the HTML!

Yeah, it was a very rough game from the start after fumbling the first play from scrimmage. I was rooting for VT too, but their luck finally ended.

Thank you. I'm really looking forward to Year 2. Getting a little job security pressure as well will make things a bit exciting to say the least haha.

Week 1 2014 (Season 2) ND Recap

Irish's Strong Start to the Season

WAKE FOREST, N. Car - Notre Dame kicked off the 2014 college football season with an impressive 38-21 victory over Wake Forest in North Carolina. The Irish kept the Demon Deacons at arm's length all game with two takeaways and a strong rushing attack.

The player of the game was Notre Dame's sophomore running back Junior Roth. Junior ran for 198 yards on 33 carries for a 6.0 average. The sophomore also accounted for two of the team's running touchdowns. Head Coach John Bax was very excited about Roth coming into the season and was very pleased with his output today.

The season opening win has the Irish at 1-0 and should provide a little job security to head coach John Bax who was criticized after last years disappointing 4-8 record. Next week's game at #19 Michigan St will be another good test for this young Irish team who will look to erase the memory of last season.
