Heath Ledger won Best Supporting Actor for a Motion Picture. I don't think it was nominated for anything else, including Best Motion Picture, Best Director, or Best Musical Score (though both James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer, co-creators of the TDK score, were nominated for their scores in separate movies, though I forget what the movies were, and neither of them won anyway).

I expect a bigger appearance from the Academy Awards, and as long as Heath gets his well deserved AA, I'll be happy in the end. Best Picture will be a tough one, but if it gets it, I'll be giddy as a schoolgirl.

I don't really see Heath getting the Oscar - I'll be more than happy with a nomination. I think the Oscars are more Hollywood politics than anything else and giving an Oscar to an actor in a comic book movie (no matter how great it is) is something I don't see Hollywood doing. Then again, I hope I am wrong.

I'm sorry, am I confusing one awards show with another? Which one is coming up in February that everyone is hoping he gets (well, you and I at least) his Best Supporting Actor award in?

The Oscars = Academy Awards

IMO, Heath would be a lock but comic book movies do not do well in terms of acting achievements at the Academy Awards.
