Earning Badges in NBA 2K15

Earning Badges in NBA 2K15

Key Notes

  • Simulating games will not count towards earning badges.  You must play the games to meet the requirements.
  • Only one badge can be earned in MyPark / Jordan Rec Center (Swagger).
  • Badges can be earned by playing on any difficulty.
  • Unless specifically noted, any position can earn any badge.
  • Unlike what many believe, having the Cool and Collected or Volume Shooter badges will not prevent you from getting “hot” (which is required to earn Unfazed and Microwave).
  • Getting ejected or fouling out of a game will not impact your ability to earn badges.
  • For the ankle breaker dribble move badges, like Killer Crossover, you’ll generally have better luck earning them if you try the moves when you’re within 25 feet of the basket.
  • When earning a badge requires you to meet the requirements “in a single season”, it means just that.  You cannot carry over stats or games played to the next season to earn the badge.

Alpha Dog

You must be the highest rated offensive player on your team.  You need to play 60% of the teams minutes per game in a running 30 game window (i.e. the last 30 games and you cannot earn it until you’ve played at least 25 games).  If you change teams, or a new player comes to your team, and you are no longer the highest rated offensive player on the team, you’ll lose Alpha Dog.

Beta Dog

You must be the second highest rated offensive player on your team.  You need to play 60% of the teams minutes per game in a running 30 game window (i.e. the last 30 games and you cannot earn it until you’ve played at least 25 games).  If you change teams, or a new player comes to your team, and you are no longer the second highest rated offensive player on the team, you’ll lose Beta Dog.

Prime Time

You must play better in games of “significance” than non-significant games.  Significant games are games against rivals, power teams, playoff games, hometown visits and games where you are playing against the last team you played for (if it applies). You must play 10 significant games within the season.  To determine if you’re playing “better”, we have a fairly powerful algorithm that looks at various statistics.

Cool and Collected

If you never reach “Frozen” in your offensive hot/cold status in a running 10 game window (i.e. last 10 games), you will earn Cool and Collected.  When you have two blue rings in your player indicator, you are considered Frozen.

Road Dog

You must play better on the road than at home.  We look at a running 20 game window, and you cannot earn this badge until you’ve played at least 20 games.  The same algorithm is used for this badge that is used for Prime Time.

Closer

In the final 40% of the 4th quarter, as well as all overtimes (entire overtime), you must shoot 50% or higher from the field.  The game must be within 10 points, and in this 4th quarter / OT time frame to count.  Once you’ve tallied up a total of 40 field goal attempts in this time frame, and followed the rest of the rules, you will earn Closer.

Fierce Competitor

If you shoot 50% or better on at least 50 total field goal attempts when your team is down 10 or more, you will earn Fierce Competitor.

Spark Plug

In a 6 game running window (you cannot earn until 6 games have been played), you must average at least 7 points per game while coming off the bench.

Swagger

Use the in-game “ambient button” in MyPark 50 times

Enforcer

Get 10 non-flagrant, hard fouls in a single season

Mentor

Reach year 4

Heart and Soul

Reach year 4, but you must stay with the same team all 4 years

Floor General

Have a career assist average of 5 or more, play at least 30 games in a season or career, and raise your Playmaker discipline to Level 18.

Defensive Anchor

Play at least 30 games in a season or career and raise your Defender discipline to Level 18.

Gatorade® Hardened

Play 20 games in a row where you average 80% of the teams minutes or more.  Stamina and Durability attributes must be as follows:

  • PG, SG, SF:  Stamina & Durability 90
  • PF, C:  Stamina 85, Durability 90

All-Time Great

In your last 15 played games (you must play at least 15), divide your field goal attempts by your assists.  If the ratio of FGA to Assists is higher than this, you’ll earn All-Time Great.  It is possible to lose this badge in favor of Low Ego.

  • PG:  4 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SG:  4.5 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SF:  5 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • PF:  8 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • C:  8 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio

Low Ego

In your last 15 played games (you must play at least 15), divide your field goal attempts by your assists.  If the ratio of FGA to Assists is lower than this, you’ll earn Low Ego.  It is possible to lose this badge in favor of All-Time Great.

  • PG:  2 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SG:  2.5 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SF:  3 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • PF:  6 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • C:  6 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio

Friendly/Reserved

These are earned through your responses in scenes. The more positive/excited answers will lead to the Friendly badge, while the more careful, unsupportive answers will lead to Reserved.

Legendary Work Ethic

This is earned by agreeing to shoot around extra before the game with either your teammate or the assistant coach in the scene where they ask you to do so.

Keep It Real/Pat My Back

This is earned based on your performance in the next 5 games after being given a motivational-type speech in a scene by either his teammate or the assistant coach. Improved stats lead to the Pat My Back badge, and worse stats lead to the Keep It Real badge.

Laid Back/Expressive

These are earned through your responses in almost all scenes. Answers that are on the mellow/humble side of things will lead to the Laid Back badge, while answers on the excited/arrogant side of things will lead to the Expressive badge.

Unpredictable

This is earned if you get either the Laid Back or Expressive badge first, and then you start shifting your answers in scenes enough towards the other end of the spectrum.

Took me 15 games to get Sprite Posterizer. I don't even use it that much I just wanted it for MyPark. 3 games away from perimeter and post lockdown defender on my SF. I hope they make some of these badges easier to get next year or at least have a progress bar. The grind is real

I don't know about easier, because people already cheese to get badges and abuse them online...

But progress bar I agree 100%.

I shouldn't be playing a game recklessly driving to the rim for posterizer 30 times in a game, and throwing nothing but flashy passes off pick and rolls, while shooting in someone's face for deadeye and not knowing if it's working or not...makes me feel like I don't even know what basketball is haha

Yeah it's really frustrating looking for those teammate grade comments to know if you got credit or not...

As far as being easier, I didn't necessarily mean less games or something like that. But even this year it took them like 3 months to come out with an explanation on how to get each badge...really?

I think making them easier would be by having that progress bar, at least I'd know what I'm grinding for.

You'll need a lot of math and even more patience. I got VS after my 18th game going for deadeye. I missed a 25 shot game from earlier in the season. I was pissed. I still have it on bronze.

I really wish you had the ability to Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Off all badges. Or like years before, allow us to only equip so many. Mix & match with your squad to make an ultimate Park team. Allow us to make those changes IN the Park instead of going to the home menu.

# 507 georgepal @ 05/12/15 05:54 PM
Definitely need more badges in the park and definitely at least a notification during the game when u got a badge or a special move

# 508 Rockie_Fresh88 @ 05/12/15 06:45 PM
I think the defensive badges like post lockdown , perimeter lockdown , interceptor , maybe eraser need to be stronger next year .

More Qs:
1. For Unfazed badge, does the player have to get hot when 2 rings are flashing around him or just a red ring around? This second in the microwave, right? Also, when you are hot in offence but make a foul or turnover in defense do you lose the 2 rings'?
2. For Fade Ace i've made already more than 50 fade away and still not getting it. Please correct me if i'm wrong: post the defender, L away from hoop and shoot (I get good grade and extra point for doing post move), right?
3. For Hop-Stepper & King of Euros it does not seem to work every time with R pointing right. Do I have to be on a specific angle to the hoop or you can do it from any direction you go? Is it easier on fast breaks?
4. Trying to get Post Stepack Pro but there is no way to make this move found here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUdC22CFqRY). Whats the trick to stick on the defender and still dribbling? I just cannot make it
5. Do All Star Game stats count for the badges that need consequent games?

Thanks in advance and sorry for many Qs

You don't get fade ace from doing post fade aways. You have to to the fade away jumpshots without going in the post. Just pulling the LS back.

Once you do get the badge, it'll activate on the post fades as well. Weird, I know. But a lot of the badges was buggy as hell.

What do u mean "activate post fades" ? I can make post fades without facing the fade ace badge already. Thanks for the clarification anyway. Any info on how to make the move for the Post Stepack Pro>?

# 512 Jrocc23 @ 05/14/15 03:52 AM
You're not understanding. You can't get the fade ace badge from doing post fades. If you do it 1000xs you won't get it. Only the regular fade away shots count towards fade ace.

Also, what I am saying is once you finally do get the fade ace badge, when you do a post fade, it'll activate, meaning you'll see it say fade ace by your stats.

# 513 georgepal @ 05/14/15 04:31 AM
Got it now thanks! One more clarification please: In order to get unfazed do i have to get my player hot 3 times for 4 minutes in EVERY GAME (in a total of 15) or 3 times for 4 minutes in any of the 15 games?

# 514 Jrocc23 @ 05/14/15 05:06 AM
I don't know about unfazed. I don't have post stepback pro because I don't use a lot of post moves being a 6' PG. But I believe I've did it a few times. I believe you have to press the LS away from the defender and tap the shot button. I am sure that's how you do it, but I might be wrong. Go in a quick game and try it.

It helps a little bit when farther away. My inside is 19 and I believe my jumpshot is on 6-7. I have all the post badges and fade ace also.

Ima only have 4-5 in shooting .

I take back what I said . The only badges that are tedious are the shooting badges . Everything else is basically just playing your game . My Big is getting ready easy

# 518 Trini94 @ 05/14/15 02:16 PM
Yeah, post badges are easy. Only one that was giving me problems for real was fade ace since I don't shoot a lot.

# 519 georgepal @ 05/15/15 11:40 AM
I tried more than 200 times and i cannot make the move required for Post Stepback Pro based on some videos on you tube. How do you make the post move while dribble at the same time.

1st, what helps is the blue arrow on the circle beneath your player. The blue arrow tells you exactly which direction your left analog is pointing. This also helps with many badges. So Once you figure out that you're holding left analog away from hoop now you need to master the shot.

Post up using Triangle/ Y, hold your left analog AWAY from the basket (I don't know what camera you use). You then tap Square/ X to create space, then you hold Square/ X to take the shot. The tricky part is quick timing between tapping shoot and holding it for the shot. Go to the gym and practice. If you tap and wait too long to go into shoot animation it will just perform a step back and your player will just be standing there. You need to tap and quickly shoot.
