Earning Badges in NBA 2K15

Earning Badges in NBA 2K15

Key Notes

  • Simulating games will not count towards earning badges.  You must play the games to meet the requirements.
  • Only one badge can be earned in MyPark / Jordan Rec Center (Swagger).
  • Badges can be earned by playing on any difficulty.
  • Unless specifically noted, any position can earn any badge.
  • Unlike what many believe, having the Cool and Collected or Volume Shooter badges will not prevent you from getting “hot” (which is required to earn Unfazed and Microwave).
  • Getting ejected or fouling out of a game will not impact your ability to earn badges.
  • For the ankle breaker dribble move badges, like Killer Crossover, you’ll generally have better luck earning them if you try the moves when you’re within 25 feet of the basket.
  • When earning a badge requires you to meet the requirements “in a single season”, it means just that.  You cannot carry over stats or games played to the next season to earn the badge.

Alpha Dog

You must be the highest rated offensive player on your team.  You need to play 60% of the teams minutes per game in a running 30 game window (i.e. the last 30 games and you cannot earn it until you’ve played at least 25 games).  If you change teams, or a new player comes to your team, and you are no longer the highest rated offensive player on the team, you’ll lose Alpha Dog.

Beta Dog

You must be the second highest rated offensive player on your team.  You need to play 60% of the teams minutes per game in a running 30 game window (i.e. the last 30 games and you cannot earn it until you’ve played at least 25 games).  If you change teams, or a new player comes to your team, and you are no longer the second highest rated offensive player on the team, you’ll lose Beta Dog.

Prime Time

You must play better in games of “significance” than non-significant games.  Significant games are games against rivals, power teams, playoff games, hometown visits and games where you are playing against the last team you played for (if it applies). You must play 10 significant games within the season.  To determine if you’re playing “better”, we have a fairly powerful algorithm that looks at various statistics.

Cool and Collected

If you never reach “Frozen” in your offensive hot/cold status in a running 10 game window (i.e. last 10 games), you will earn Cool and Collected.  When you have two blue rings in your player indicator, you are considered Frozen.

Road Dog

You must play better on the road than at home.  We look at a running 20 game window, and you cannot earn this badge until you’ve played at least 20 games.  The same algorithm is used for this badge that is used for Prime Time.

Closer

In the final 40% of the 4th quarter, as well as all overtimes (entire overtime), you must shoot 50% or higher from the field.  The game must be within 10 points, and in this 4th quarter / OT time frame to count.  Once you’ve tallied up a total of 40 field goal attempts in this time frame, and followed the rest of the rules, you will earn Closer.

Fierce Competitor

If you shoot 50% or better on at least 50 total field goal attempts when your team is down 10 or more, you will earn Fierce Competitor.

Spark Plug

In a 6 game running window (you cannot earn until 6 games have been played), you must average at least 7 points per game while coming off the bench.

Swagger

Use the in-game “ambient button” in MyPark 50 times

Enforcer

Get 10 non-flagrant, hard fouls in a single season

Mentor

Reach year 4

Heart and Soul

Reach year 4, but you must stay with the same team all 4 years

Floor General

Have a career assist average of 5 or more, play at least 30 games in a season or career, and raise your Playmaker discipline to Level 18.

Defensive Anchor

Play at least 30 games in a season or career and raise your Defender discipline to Level 18.

Gatorade® Hardened

Play 20 games in a row where you average 80% of the teams minutes or more.  Stamina and Durability attributes must be as follows:

  • PG, SG, SF:  Stamina & Durability 90
  • PF, C:  Stamina 85, Durability 90

All-Time Great

In your last 15 played games (you must play at least 15), divide your field goal attempts by your assists.  If the ratio of FGA to Assists is higher than this, you’ll earn All-Time Great.  It is possible to lose this badge in favor of Low Ego.

  • PG:  4 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SG:  4.5 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SF:  5 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • PF:  8 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • C:  8 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio

Low Ego

In your last 15 played games (you must play at least 15), divide your field goal attempts by your assists.  If the ratio of FGA to Assists is lower than this, you’ll earn Low Ego.  It is possible to lose this badge in favor of All-Time Great.

  • PG:  2 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SG:  2.5 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SF:  3 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • PF:  6 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • C:  6 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio

Friendly/Reserved

These are earned through your responses in scenes. The more positive/excited answers will lead to the Friendly badge, while the more careful, unsupportive answers will lead to Reserved.

Legendary Work Ethic

This is earned by agreeing to shoot around extra before the game with either your teammate or the assistant coach in the scene where they ask you to do so.

Keep It Real/Pat My Back

This is earned based on your performance in the next 5 games after being given a motivational-type speech in a scene by either his teammate or the assistant coach. Improved stats lead to the Pat My Back badge, and worse stats lead to the Keep It Real badge.

Laid Back/Expressive

These are earned through your responses in almost all scenes. Answers that are on the mellow/humble side of things will lead to the Laid Back badge, while answers on the excited/arrogant side of things will lead to the Expressive badge.

Unpredictable

This is earned if you get either the Laid Back or Expressive badge first, and then you start shifting your answers in scenes enough towards the other end of the spectrum.

Mind Games

This is earned through by giving the extreme, over-the-top response in a handful of scenes, particularly those involving trash-talking, or when first joining a new team.

Unfazed

In the last 15 games played, get your player “Hot” for 4 straight gameplay minutes, 3 different times.  When you have two red rings in your player indicator, you are considered “Hot”.  This can be while on offense, defense, or both.

Got Deadeye on 2 players.

I'm on 58 badges right now
6'5" PG 98 Overall

About 45 on my SF

Working on Unfazed and Fierce Competitor but Unfazed is hard to get without another Floor General on the Floor.

Does anybody have Swagger?? Or is it glitched??
Congrats on scrapper. I hate that that badge is luck took me a day on 1 guy and 3 days on my second. Swagger is glitch, glad it is tho because the park is already too unbalanced.

To be honest fierce competitor is really a first season badge because you will have a game where you a down, kinda hard to be down after that unless you get a low team grade or stay out of board on offense.

On Unfazed, do you have volume shooter, if so yeah get traded to a team with a floor general be two team imo for small forward is Bulls and Grizzlies (if the first year roster is there) because of floor general and defensive anchor badge on PG and C. If you don't have volume shooter make big plays such as transition dunk of steal, poster, limitless range 3. Once you get hot just pick and roll and take mid range and dunks.

First off unequip all baseline, under the basket and any two footed dunks that would allow you to dunk driving the baseline area. This will allow you to use turbo to a certain degree before having to let go. Also equip the guard layup package. A lot of people will suggest Jordan, but until you have the Acribat badge the success rate of reverse layups is lower.

This is inaccurate (partially). I use the disclaimer because the caveat seems to be Patch 3. Pre Patch 3 I can guarantee both a PF & a C gained Brick Wall in 26 & 29 games respectively.

As for other positions. SG gained Brick Wall in 28 games Pre Patch 3. I'm currently 38 games in with SF POST Patch 3 and have yet to unlock it. That's why I think Patch 3 put hand cuffs on the amount of screens allowed towards the badge per game. That would suck if that happened.

I'll post when I get Brick Wall with my SF. Hopefully I can get it soon because I'm in round 2 of the playoffs. Purposefully stretching 7 game series' though.

Latest member of the 'Deadeye' Club checking in. 1st player I've been able to get Deadeye with. Here's some stats...

I'm a SF using Harrison Barnes shot type (don't ask why I don't know). Started legitimately trying for Deadeye 1st game of the Playoffs 1st (half season). Triggered after 12th game of the playoffs. I've been purposefully stretching 7 games series'. I made 247 FG's in the 12 game span.

My style...For the 1st 5 games of the 1st series I would drive to the area between the 3pt line and free throw line. I'd pump fake to draw the defender in and shoot when they were around me. Since then, I changed to getting the ball around half court, slowly walking up to the same area and waiting for my player to crouch because the defender closed in on me and shot.

Playing on SS, 12 min 1/4ers, at 75% speed, casual. I played a couple games on Sim instead of casual because I knew it would be more difficult and I needed to lose. I can't hit enough shots on HOF. 7th game of the 1st series I played on All Star because I needed the W to stretch the series.

This is the 2nd time this has happened to me. I posted earlier about 'Tenacious Rebounder' triggering after 300 boards instead of 400 for me. I just got 'Eraser' in the same fashion after my last game. I was happy that I got 'Deadeye', but then Eraser popped up too. I gained Eraser after only 55 blocks for the entire season. The posted number is 80. I'm a SF if that makes a difference, which it may.

Im trying to get some badges for my shooting guard, and something is totally messed up with how you get certain badges. Starting out going for all the dribbling badges, i got the size up badge after doing it 1 time, spin after 20 times and hesi after about 30, killer crossover after about 60 times even tho it states 75, i dont complain tho.

But what really annoys me right now is that i have stepback freeze and in & out left and i've seriously done each of those moves about 500-700 times each now and still nothing. anyone know anything about this?

Try grabbing the rebound, while running down the court do your in and out and for stepback do them in the halfcourt moving. Moving dribble moves unlocked the badge for me.

Are badges earned the same way in Association mode as they are in MyPlayer?

I got posterizer having 1 contact dunk in my entire career and none during my second season(when I got the badge). I dont like the grinding for badges and tried playing my center career hof sim and somehow I unlocked posterizer.

I go posterizer on 5'11 pg and ive never done or seen it say contact dunk in upper right corner.

Pre Patch 3 it definitely took me 15 contact dunks to get it. Post Patch 3 I got Posterizer within 6 games of legitimately trying for it. I had (I believe) 2 contact dunks in the game I triggered it. I didn't think anything of it. Just assumed I had enough from previous games.

So does a Jordan reverse layup count toward acrobat or not? I know people have said the the guard layup works better.

# 415 Magnus1959 @ 03/02/15 04:57 PM
Ok my PF is the first to get Acrobat.

# 416 Trini94 @ 03/03/15 12:10 AM
I've been stuck on 3 loose ball saves for the longest with my center lol.

# 417 Magnus1959 @ 03/03/15 10:48 AM
Got Acrobat on my MJ Career.

# 418 Magnus1959 @ 03/03/15 12:08 PM
Got Acrobat on my T-Mac Career. Turns out I was just missing my 4 change shot layups. Need it on my C and SF yet.

How are you performing your 'change of shot' animations? I used to be able to do them at will, now I can't get one and I just need those 4.
