Earning Badges in NBA 2K15

Earning Badges in NBA 2K15

Key Notes

  • Simulating games will not count towards earning badges.  You must play the games to meet the requirements.
  • Only one badge can be earned in MyPark / Jordan Rec Center (Swagger).
  • Badges can be earned by playing on any difficulty.
  • Unless specifically noted, any position can earn any badge.
  • Unlike what many believe, having the Cool and Collected or Volume Shooter badges will not prevent you from getting “hot” (which is required to earn Unfazed and Microwave).
  • Getting ejected or fouling out of a game will not impact your ability to earn badges.
  • For the ankle breaker dribble move badges, like Killer Crossover, you’ll generally have better luck earning them if you try the moves when you’re within 25 feet of the basket.
  • When earning a badge requires you to meet the requirements “in a single season”, it means just that.  You cannot carry over stats or games played to the next season to earn the badge.

Alpha Dog

You must be the highest rated offensive player on your team.  You need to play 60% of the teams minutes per game in a running 30 game window (i.e. the last 30 games and you cannot earn it until you’ve played at least 25 games).  If you change teams, or a new player comes to your team, and you are no longer the highest rated offensive player on the team, you’ll lose Alpha Dog.

Beta Dog

You must be the second highest rated offensive player on your team.  You need to play 60% of the teams minutes per game in a running 30 game window (i.e. the last 30 games and you cannot earn it until you’ve played at least 25 games).  If you change teams, or a new player comes to your team, and you are no longer the second highest rated offensive player on the team, you’ll lose Beta Dog.

Prime Time

You must play better in games of “significance” than non-significant games.  Significant games are games against rivals, power teams, playoff games, hometown visits and games where you are playing against the last team you played for (if it applies). You must play 10 significant games within the season.  To determine if you’re playing “better”, we have a fairly powerful algorithm that looks at various statistics.

Cool and Collected

If you never reach “Frozen” in your offensive hot/cold status in a running 10 game window (i.e. last 10 games), you will earn Cool and Collected.  When you have two blue rings in your player indicator, you are considered Frozen.

Road Dog

You must play better on the road than at home.  We look at a running 20 game window, and you cannot earn this badge until you’ve played at least 20 games.  The same algorithm is used for this badge that is used for Prime Time.

Closer

In the final 40% of the 4th quarter, as well as all overtimes (entire overtime), you must shoot 50% or higher from the field.  The game must be within 10 points, and in this 4th quarter / OT time frame to count.  Once you’ve tallied up a total of 40 field goal attempts in this time frame, and followed the rest of the rules, you will earn Closer.

Fierce Competitor

If you shoot 50% or better on at least 50 total field goal attempts when your team is down 10 or more, you will earn Fierce Competitor.

Spark Plug

In a 6 game running window (you cannot earn until 6 games have been played), you must average at least 7 points per game while coming off the bench.

Swagger

Use the in-game “ambient button” in MyPark 50 times

Enforcer

Get 10 non-flagrant, hard fouls in a single season

Mentor

Reach year 4

Heart and Soul

Reach year 4, but you must stay with the same team all 4 years

Floor General

Have a career assist average of 5 or more, play at least 30 games in a season or career, and raise your Playmaker discipline to Level 18.

Defensive Anchor

Play at least 30 games in a season or career and raise your Defender discipline to Level 18.

Gatorade® Hardened

Play 20 games in a row where you average 80% of the teams minutes or more.  Stamina and Durability attributes must be as follows:

  • PG, SG, SF:  Stamina & Durability 90
  • PF, C:  Stamina 85, Durability 90

All-Time Great

In your last 15 played games (you must play at least 15), divide your field goal attempts by your assists.  If the ratio of FGA to Assists is higher than this, you’ll earn All-Time Great.  It is possible to lose this badge in favor of Low Ego.

  • PG:  4 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SG:  4.5 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SF:  5 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • PF:  8 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • C:  8 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio

Low Ego

In your last 15 played games (you must play at least 15), divide your field goal attempts by your assists.  If the ratio of FGA to Assists is lower than this, you’ll earn Low Ego.  It is possible to lose this badge in favor of All-Time Great.

  • PG:  2 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SG:  2.5 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SF:  3 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • PF:  6 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • C:  6 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio

Friendly/Reserved

These are earned through your responses in scenes. The more positive/excited answers will lead to the Friendly badge, while the more careful, unsupportive answers will lead to Reserved.

Legendary Work Ethic

This is earned by agreeing to shoot around extra before the game with either your teammate or the assistant coach in the scene where they ask you to do so.

Keep It Real/Pat My Back

This is earned based on your performance in the next 5 games after being given a motivational-type speech in a scene by either his teammate or the assistant coach. Improved stats lead to the Pat My Back badge, and worse stats lead to the Keep It Real badge.

Laid Back/Expressive

These are earned through your responses in almost all scenes. Answers that are on the mellow/humble side of things will lead to the Laid Back badge, while answers on the excited/arrogant side of things will lead to the Expressive badge.

Unpredictable

This is earned if you get either the Laid Back or Expressive badge first, and then you start shifting your answers in scenes enough towards the other end of the spectrum.

Mind Games

This is earned through by giving the extreme, over-the-top response in a handful of scenes, particularly those involving trash-talking, or when first joining a new team.

In the last 15 games played, get your player “Hot” for 4 straight gameplay minutes, 3 different times.  When you have two red rings in your player indicator, you are considered “Hot”.  This can be while on offense, defense, or both.

The reverse is the one under the rim which is the hardest to do because it's hard to get baseline against the CPU and to activate it. If I were you, put your control settings on absolute and when you go baseline, press the RS towards the baseline.

The changing your shot one is the easiest thing ever. Just attack the rim and trying to do a dunk and just press the shot button again while in the air. You don't even have to make them.

Reverse like the one shown here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2_0TqkeOQY right?

Also what about swagger and unpredictable? Can you actually get them or is there a bug on that? Celebrated more than 100 times in the park and still not badge!
Change your settings to Rookie, Casual, X minutes (time doesn't matter). Steal the ball at half court and drive the baseline at an angle. Hold your right analog towards the baseline. Do NOT hold turbo. It will perform a reverse layup. That's the 15.

For change of direction layup, steal the ball at half court and when you get to the hoop I use right analog, and as soon as my player lifts off the ground I turn the right analog in all different directions. I found that I have to completely stop before my shot in order for the animation to work. That's the 4.

If you're playing 12 minutes 1/4ers you can get it in one game if that's all you focus on.

It's the start of a season for me and I'm going for unfazed. Does anybody have any tips?

I'm thinking call all timeouts do 12min quarters and constant pick and roll and score. To stay hot would simply making a bucket every time keep your 2 rings? Or do you have to dime?

# 547 Rockie_Fresh88 @ 05/27/15 02:37 PM
All I did was play on 12 minute quarters with a floor general (CP3) and did the same thing that got me microwave (min 15 games in a season played) it took me like 5 games

I barely notice the badge in the rec

Hmm so you got it without going 4 straight minutes of gameplay being hot with 2 rings? Did you just get hot randomly at different times and unlocked it? I saw a YouTube I think LeAristocrat that said to just get hot in the first quarter for consecutive games and you'll get it in around 15.

This is what I posted awhile back. Keep in mind it was on Patch 3. Not sure if anything changed.

"I was able to get both Unfazed & Microwave in the same 'attempt' and avoid volume shooter. Keep in mind that it's 15 games, that's key. You can trigger microwave after your consecutive hot games, but unfazed won't unlock till after that 15th game. I had my 3rd (4 minute min) hot game around game 11 and did not get the badge after it. It wasn't till after game 15 of my trying for it did it unlock.

You can get hot a number of ways. It can be on either side of the ball also. So if you're concerned about your shot count, lock down on D. Get a ton of steals, blocks, tipped passes, forced turnovers, etc.

On the offensive end, anything can take a warm player to hot that raises your grade. Try a long 'Unlimited Range' 3. Any big dunk, work on Posterizer perhaps. Alley oops, either passing or finishing. Assists are huge. But always be the focal point when the offense scores. If you take even 1 trip down court and get no positive teammate grades for the score, you can lose your hot streak. Run all plays through you. Pass to assist counts as a positive play and will keep your streak going."

Just got Brick Wall for my SF. For some reason it took a lot longer than it took for me to get it with my SG. I got it 40 games in. I read earlier on this thread that people thought only 2 screens per game would count. That is clearly not the case.

You MUST set a screen for the player that scores. So you need to see the "Set Screen for Score" pop up.

Also got Break Starter a few days ago. Keep in mind that it's 250 defensive rebounds. I finished a game and was at 254 and was pissed I didn't unlock it. Then I realized I hadn't accounted for my offensive boards. So if you reach 250 rebounds, do the math and you'll know how many defensive boards you need to get.

I'm down to Hustle Points, Scrapper, and Charge card left. Hustle Points is obtainable, but Charge Card is impossible unless you glitched your MyCareer minutes/ sliders. Need 2 more saves for Scrapper.

Just because YOU can't get charges or loose ball saves or normal sliders does not mean that it's glitched. You are more than capable of these badges on normal sliders.
It's far from misinformation. I've been working on Brick Wall with 4 different MyPlayer positions. I've noticed the "Good Screen" works for opening Screen Outlet, and only "Set Screen for Score" works for Brick Wall.

I never said any badge was glitched. Please stop putting words in my threads. I don't have any issues with loose ball saves for Scrapper. I clearly stated I already have 2 and I'm well aware of how to get them if I choose to work on that badge.

And while Charge Card is not glitched, it's extremely difficult to get, ie impossible in my opinion, without glitching your GAME SAVE data so you can adjust your sliders. I have more than enough X1 recorded video of MyPlayer clearly taking a charge, only to have the CPU spin around and the animation just make my player stumble backwards.

Either be helpful to the community or go take a nap and stop trolling on people who do try and help.

Ahh so it does require the 4 straight hot minutes. It's really hard for me I'll go 3 minutes only to have one ring dissappear if I make a normal pass to my teammate and get it back, one ring will be gone. I guess I gotta pound it or pass only if it's gonna lead to an assist. I also tried milking my shot clock never works out for me. I already have microwave btw.

You clearly insinuated that charge card is glitched because your inability to get it. It's not because you're bad at taking charges. Don't promote abusing game mechanics because you can't take charges.

"but Charge Card is impossible unless you glitched your MyCareer minutes/ sliders."
I've tried it on 4 different players and it was consistent. If it was just "Good Screens" tell me why I can unlock Screen Outlet in 13 games and it takes me 40 to get Brick Wall. If I'm averaging the same amount of "good screens" I should see it in the mid 20's no later than 30 games.

Let me tell you what I've noticed about the developers list...and I've posted this before on this thread. I unlocked Tenacious Rebounder after my 300th board not my 400th. I unlocked Eraser after 55 games and not 80. So defense of the developers list really doesn't help me understand your point of view.

I never insinuated anything. I made a truthful statement that the only people that I have EVER heard of getting Charge Card have used the stats/ sliders glitch. You continue to inflect your lies into what I'm trying to post. 1st you say I'm saying the only way to do something is to glitch. Now your claiming I'm promoting cheating.

# 554 Trini94 @ 05/30/15 02:26 PM
Well I reached the minimum for diner with my center in 20 games. Gotta play 5 more games to actually unlock it though lol

Acrobat works so much better on my PF than my point guard .also the shot changes itself on my bigman never saw that in my guard

Finally got Dimer, gonna start working on bank is open.

I'm lost in the woods on these Badges in 2k15.
Are they like Signature Skills from last gen where you can earn and lose them for your players in My League/GM or are they just for MyPlayer when you play as one guy?

Confused.

# 558 P234thetruth @ 06/09/15 04:23 AM
If going for Tenacious Rebounder what difficulty do you guys recommend playing on? I'm on rookie but it seems they make everything, would a higher difficulty force more misses or makes?

# 559 H Town @ 06/12/15 04:36 PM
I hope we don't have to earn badges like this next year.

# 560 Jrocc23 @ 06/12/15 07:51 PM
I do. I think it's pretty cool. I just think they need to improve on it and also make sure badges aren't glitched.
