Earning Badges in NBA 2K15

Earning Badges in NBA 2K15

Key Notes

  • Simulating games will not count towards earning badges.  You must play the games to meet the requirements.
  • Only one badge can be earned in MyPark / Jordan Rec Center (Swagger).
  • Badges can be earned by playing on any difficulty.
  • Unless specifically noted, any position can earn any badge.
  • Unlike what many believe, having the Cool and Collected or Volume Shooter badges will not prevent you from getting “hot” (which is required to earn Unfazed and Microwave).
  • Getting ejected or fouling out of a game will not impact your ability to earn badges.
  • For the ankle breaker dribble move badges, like Killer Crossover, you’ll generally have better luck earning them if you try the moves when you’re within 25 feet of the basket.
  • When earning a badge requires you to meet the requirements “in a single season”, it means just that.  You cannot carry over stats or games played to the next season to earn the badge.

Alpha Dog

You must be the highest rated offensive player on your team.  You need to play 60% of the teams minutes per game in a running 30 game window (i.e. the last 30 games and you cannot earn it until you’ve played at least 25 games).  If you change teams, or a new player comes to your team, and you are no longer the highest rated offensive player on the team, you’ll lose Alpha Dog.

Beta Dog

You must be the second highest rated offensive player on your team.  You need to play 60% of the teams minutes per game in a running 30 game window (i.e. the last 30 games and you cannot earn it until you’ve played at least 25 games).  If you change teams, or a new player comes to your team, and you are no longer the second highest rated offensive player on the team, you’ll lose Beta Dog.

Prime Time

You must play better in games of “significance” than non-significant games.  Significant games are games against rivals, power teams, playoff games, hometown visits and games where you are playing against the last team you played for (if it applies). You must play 10 significant games within the season.  To determine if you’re playing “better”, we have a fairly powerful algorithm that looks at various statistics.

Cool and Collected

If you never reach “Frozen” in your offensive hot/cold status in a running 10 game window (i.e. last 10 games), you will earn Cool and Collected.  When you have two blue rings in your player indicator, you are considered Frozen.

Road Dog

You must play better on the road than at home.  We look at a running 20 game window, and you cannot earn this badge until you’ve played at least 20 games.  The same algorithm is used for this badge that is used for Prime Time.

Closer

In the final 40% of the 4th quarter, as well as all overtimes (entire overtime), you must shoot 50% or higher from the field.  The game must be within 10 points, and in this 4th quarter / OT time frame to count.  Once you’ve tallied up a total of 40 field goal attempts in this time frame, and followed the rest of the rules, you will earn Closer.

Fierce Competitor

If you shoot 50% or better on at least 50 total field goal attempts when your team is down 10 or more, you will earn Fierce Competitor.

Spark Plug

In a 6 game running window (you cannot earn until 6 games have been played), you must average at least 7 points per game while coming off the bench.

Swagger

Use the in-game “ambient button” in MyPark 50 times

Enforcer

Get 10 non-flagrant, hard fouls in a single season

Mentor

Reach year 4

Heart and Soul

Reach year 4, but you must stay with the same team all 4 years

Floor General

Have a career assist average of 5 or more, play at least 30 games in a season or career, and raise your Playmaker discipline to Level 18.

Defensive Anchor

Play at least 30 games in a season or career and raise your Defender discipline to Level 18.

Gatorade® Hardened

Play 20 games in a row where you average 80% of the teams minutes or more.  Stamina and Durability attributes must be as follows:

  • PG, SG, SF:  Stamina & Durability 90
  • PF, C:  Stamina 85, Durability 90

All-Time Great

In your last 15 played games (you must play at least 15), divide your field goal attempts by your assists.  If the ratio of FGA to Assists is higher than this, you’ll earn All-Time Great.  It is possible to lose this badge in favor of Low Ego.

  • PG:  4 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SG:  4.5 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SF:  5 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • PF:  8 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • C:  8 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio

Low Ego

In your last 15 played games (you must play at least 15), divide your field goal attempts by your assists.  If the ratio of FGA to Assists is lower than this, you’ll earn Low Ego.  It is possible to lose this badge in favor of All-Time Great.

  • PG:  2 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SG:  2.5 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • SF:  3 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • PF:  6 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio
  • C:  6 to 1 FGA to Assist ratio

Friendly/Reserved

These are earned through your responses in scenes. The more positive/excited answers will lead to the Friendly badge, while the more careful, unsupportive answers will lead to Reserved.

Legendary Work Ethic

This is earned by agreeing to shoot around extra before the game with either your teammate or the assistant coach in the scene where they ask you to do so.

Keep It Real/Pat My Back

This is earned based on your performance in the next 5 games after being given a motivational-type speech in a scene by either his teammate or the assistant coach. Improved stats lead to the Pat My Back badge, and worse stats lead to the Keep It Real badge.

Laid Back/Expressive

These are earned through your responses in almost all scenes. Answers that are on the mellow/humble side of things will lead to the Laid Back badge, while answers on the excited/arrogant side of things will lead to the Expressive badge.

Unpredictable

This is earned if you get either the Laid Back or Expressive badge first, and then you start shifting your answers in scenes enough towards the other end of the spectrum.

Mind Games

This is earned through by giving the extreme, over-the-top response in a handful of scenes, particularly those involving trash-talking, or when first joining a new team.

In the last 15 games played, get your player “Hot” for 4 straight gameplay minutes, 3 different times.  When you have two red rings in your player indicator, you are considered “Hot”.  This can be while on offense, defense, or both.

this could take to 5-12 games took me 6 . play 6 minutes quarters superstar casual . what you gotta do is inbound the ball every single time . once your inside 18-15 ft your defender will try to run and guard you .

what you got to do is bump into him using your shoulder and make sure your touching and soon as that happen pull up .

i took about 73 shots each game made 35 but probably 17-20 were contested so dont bail out if your takes longer than 10 games

I am so irritated right now. Still working on 'Acrobat' and I can't get the remaining change of direction layups. A month ago I could do them no problem, now I can't even do them in the practice gym. I've tried everything, don't even say double tap this or that because that didn't f'ing work. I'm running out of season and would like to work on 4 other badges.

Oh, speaking of running out of season. I'm trying to tank a game against the Bulls in the conference finals so I can stretch 7 games. I was throwing full courters with 2 minutes left and they couldn't make up a 5 point deficit. We won by 1 point. 2K rigs games and it bothers me.

When you go for a layup spaz that right stick

# 448 Jrocc23 @ 03/06/15 12:11 AM
Double tapping the shoot button definitely works. Try to to dunk or whatever and just tap the X (X1) again. Spam it if you'd like in the air.

The other alternative is using the shot stick. I find the button easier but the shot stick let's you control where you'd like to switch the layup. The hardest parts is getting the reverses off. The changing shot in midair is the easiest thing ever because I believe you don't even have to make them.

# 449 BellSKA @ 03/06/15 08:09 AM
I appreciate the information, but I've been doing all of these. I've been sitting on my 15 reverses for a couple games and only need 2 change of shots. I don't know if it has something to do with already reaching my 15 and now it insists on being more difficult, I have no idea.

I've tried using the shot stick and rotating it (half, full, back & forth, up/ down, all over, quick to slow, slow to quick, slow/ slow, quick/ quick). I've used the shoot button (X for me). I've tried X (quick/ quick, slow slow, slow/ quick, quick, slow, waiting till my player is in the apex of their shot, doing it immediately into their shot). I've tried it on dunks, layups, baselines, euros, spin layins, I've unequiped dunks all together. I've added only basic dunks. Tried it on guard layups, and on Westbrook layups.

What dunk packages and layup packages are people using? My only thought is I need a very specific animation to allow time for the change of direction.

# 450 Jrocc23 @ 03/06/15 08:48 AM
I am sorry lol, I can't believe you're having such a hard time switching up your shot. Specially after you've been doing them.

IMO, you should equip your dunks back. The longer the animation the better because it gives you more time to switch up your shot. Change from Westbrook layup and get like the guard layup package. It doesn't really matter, but Westbrooks layup is hard to change up because it's very fast. But just add some dunks like tomahawks and cockback dunks. And just go to practice and again and act like you're going for a dunk holding turbo and X and then start spamming Xwhen you go in the air. Some animations just won't let you change it up though.

Yeah, I'm thinking I may have to equip uber tomahawk again. I took it off because it get's chasedown blocked so often online. That's the only thing I can think would make the difference.

# 452 Andreas85 @ 03/06/15 11:03 AM
What jrocc said, change to a slow layup package and u'll have it in no time.

# 453 Magnus1959 @ 03/06/15 11:08 AM
When I got Acrobat on 6 different careers I was using the Jordan layup, never took off my dunks and double tapped the square button for the changeups. Don't know what else to say but I know how frustrating it can be.

# 454 BellSKA @ 03/08/15 11:12 AM
Holy Sweet Pete! Still working on 'Acrobat'. I want to say this as politely as possible, I don't need a 'how to'. I need to see if there is anyone out there that has had this issue and figured out how to get 'Acrobat'.

I can't list all the things I've done, it would be way too long. The basics, MyPlayer stopped doing change of layups about a week or 2 ago. I had already reached my 15 reverse layups. I already have 2 change of direction shots. I bought the Drexler dunk package around when this happened. ????????

To give you a very small taste of what I've done...I've equipped 1 (only) dunk package and have run through the entire list in the practice gym. Let me clarify, I've selected 1 dunk package and tried 10 times each dunk package and MyPlayer will NOT change their shot.

This is just a very minor sample of the things I've tried this weekend. Please don't respond if you're going to tell me how to do the change of direction shot. I know how, read my previous posts.

I am only looking for OSers that had an issue with change of shot not happening at all!!!

If someone asked about 'Acrobat' today, I'd say get your 4 change of shots immediately before getting your 15 reverses.

# 455 BellSKA @ 03/08/15 08:53 PM
I have a resolution to my 'Acrobat' problem. Unfortunately it's not a solution, but it is a work around. So out of everything I've done I've been unable to perform a change shot dunk. It just won't happen any more. But I did find that I can change my layup shot.

So if anyone is having this or has this happen in the future...Stop, jump stop, slow down about 2 feet from the hoop. I could only do this using analog btw. Crack your right analog towards the hoop and do a circle or semi-circle as quickly as you can. Works 95% of the time. Your player will go into their shot animation and look like a complete spaz and change the shot direction. Again, I can no longer change my dunk animation, just my layup.

Why were you trying it with dunks didn't people tell you to do it with layups as they're slower and less canned

Because since launch I could do it with dunks whenever I tried. You get a longer 'held ball' animation with (HA! they edited CxCK ->) **** back tomahawk dunks.

Not the point either. If I tried doing it on a driving layup it won't work. I need to actually stop my forward momentum and then start my layup animation.

# 458 Magnus1959 @ 03/09/15 11:27 AM
Have you tried it with the Jordan animation? Probable won't make a difference but that's what I used on 5 careers to get it.

# 459 BellSKA @ 03/09/15 11:50 AM
Yeah, I tried it with MJ. I got it right after I figured out my work around. I just needed 2 change of direction shots. Not sure what triggered my lack of change of direction shots though.

I'll try and make another MyPlayer and see what happens if I get my 4 change of shots first then get 15 reverse layups. I got my reverses in a couple games. It's very easy, unless something like this happens.

Is it just a placebo effect or does it really matter. What are the games default settings for these?

I can't tell you exactly, but I can tell you what I've done. My box out assist is at zero. I felt like MyPlayer was boxing out anyone and everyone even if they were out at the 3 point line. Now I just go into box out animation and then search for the nearest player crashing the boards to box out. Defensive assist strength I have set at 55. My defender tends to help better during picks/ screens. I also have my shot defense set to aggressive. I don't like to jump aimlessly all over the court. If I have my right analog on & my hands up MyPlayer will contest the shot IF they actually take it.
