If you’re a developer and want to have sustained success in the genre of sports video games, your plan had better include a robust selection of online gaming modes. While NBA Live 15 mostly lacked such components, the developers have included a new mode in Summer Circuit, and have improved Live Run in Live 16, but are they still worth your time a couple weeks later?

One reason I enjoy playing Madden is that I get to see all the different venues the game has to offer, and the individuality each location brings to the table. Although these stadiums are not quite as impressive as those found in Sony's MLB: The Show franchise, EA does an admirable job bringing these stadiums to life. With that in mind, I wanted to take a look at my five favorite stadiums in Madden 16, and why I enjoy them.

A genre that was widely neglected during the early stages of the next-generation console release, sim racing has seen quite the resurgence over the last three months, and Turn 10 has looked to add to that with its release of the highly anticipated Forza 6. Turn 10’s first effort this generation, Forza 5, left many wanting more as the depth and lack of content wore many people thin. But now Forza Motorsport 6 is here, so it's time to take a look at their newest offering, and see if the early buzz and excitement is warranted.

Although not as important as it was back in the mid 80s and early 90s, a consistent running attack is still important in the NFL. It helps stop a team from becoming one-dimensional, and forces opposing defenses to plan for multiple outcomes. That concept is not lost in Madden 16, as having a solid running attack truly helps setup one’s entire offensive scheme. Unfortunately for some, that is easier said than done, and that’s why I wanted to offer some basic tips and examples on how to improve your running game in Madden 16.

If you’re an Xbox One owner, and one of the many who was less than impressed with RBI Baseball 15, then you are in luck -- assuming you still have a baseball itch and need to scratch it -- because Metalhead Software's Super Mega Baseball: Extra innings has made its way to the Xbox.
Originally released on the PS4 (like PS4 owners really need another great game of baseball), owners of the Xbox finally get to see what all the hype was about back in December. I loved SMB back then, but after spending more hours than I care to admit playing this game, will it hold up this late in the season?

It’s that time of year again...EA’s latest version of Madden is upon us. If you’re a football fan there is no better time, and if you’re a video game football fan it’s, at the very least, an interesting and engaging time. The developers of Madden have gone on record that they truly understand the repetitive on-field issues that have plagued the Madden series over the last decade, and have promised the fan base to do all they can to eradicate them. Now having spent a solid 20 hours with the newest title, I take a look at just how realistic a game of football Madden 16 is on the gridiron. After all, football is a difficult game to faithfully recreate.

F1 2015 may lack certain modes that many were looking forward to, but that doesn’t mean it can be classified as shallow, because it’s not. The newest iteration from Codemasters allows the user to approach the game from multiple angles and configure it to your liking. Obviously certain approaches are going to be easier than others -- and the strategy you decide upon can go a long way towards adding replay value to the title -- to help keep it in your game rotation for months to come. These are five tips that have really opened the game up for me, and I am hoping it might do the same for you.

Regardless of what professional racing series an individual may follow, it does not change the fact that each series has certain locales that are, simply put, more exciting than the others. This fact rings true just as much in the genre of video game racing as it does in real life. And what I mean by this is that certain tracks promote better racing in regards to strategy, passing and overall approach. With that in mind, and with the new F1 2015 title from Codemasters hitting retail shelves last week, here is a look at my five favorite tracks in F1 2015.

With the F1 2015 season well underway in real life, Codemasters has finally delivered its first F1 experience on the next generation of consoles. Promises of deep immersion, authentic racing and a retooled Championship Season mode have pushed expectations to a crescendo over the last couple months. However, the question is and always has been, will the absence of multiple modes and features keep F1 2015 on pit road, or will the core gameplay allow it to blaze past the finish line?
That’s what we are about to find out.

Rory McIlroy PGA Tour wasn't reviewed in the greatest light earlier this week from us, but we wanted to give the online options a bit more time before writing any opinions on how they're stacking up. Not since Tiger Woods 14 have fans of the sport of Golf had an outlet to play golf online, at least on a console. The tagline for the game claims that users can hit the links, and “golf without limits”. While that tagline may be catchy, it’s not necessarily correct.
What does Rory McIlroy PGA Tour offer fans who have waited so long to hit the digital course online? Let's dive in and find out.

If you’re an owner of the either an Xbox One or PS4, particularly the PS4, then the racing landscape has proven to be somewhat barren up until recently. And if you are looking for a simulation-style title, then the choices have been even more limited. Forza 5 and Horizon have dropped on the Xbox, and Project Cars is now available for both systems, so the thirst for racing bliss has been somewhat filled, but there is always room for more. Starting this summer, and rolling into the fall, there are some intriguing titles that will hit the retail market, and a few that racing fans should definitely keep on their radar.

Even though we are still over two months away from Forza 6 hitting retail shelves and digital distribution, the good folks over at Turn 10 did all Forza fans a huge favor with a very expansive and detailed showcase during E3. If you don't have the time to check out the video of all the new features and improvements, don't worry, we have you covered.

As with any racing game, sim-based or arcade, two of the biggest factors that will ultimately decide its fate are driving physics and AI ability. If you’re at all familiar with the NASCAR series by European-based developer Eutechnyx, then you probably realize these two areas have been extremely problematic since the series launched back in 2011 -- and two primary reasons why NASCAR 15 is the studio's last entry (assuming they did most of the development after the transition to DMi back in January, which seems to be the case).
The Tom Dusenberry-Ed Martin co-founded development group, DMi Racing, now controls the NASCAR license and will build a sim-based game from scratch that should release in 2016. For now though, a NASCAR fan's only choice for this year is NASCAR '15, presented by DMi Racing and developed by Eutechnyx.

After 5 years of delays and testing, Project Cars, the latest racing title from the minds of those at Slighty Mad Studios and Bandai Namco, is finally here. When you make the statement "the most authentic, beautiful, intense and technically-advanced racing game on the planet," you had better come prepared to either back that up, or be ready to deal with the inevitable crucification that is surely to follow.

There is a heavy importance attached to the ability to work the count in MLB 15 The Show, especially if you are playing on higher difficulties. Once you graduate to All-Star and above you will notice that no longer will the pitcher groove strikes down the pipe.
