This year's EA Football season is in the books as all three major EA Sports titles have been released. As for next year, our very own Chris Sanner has an idea of what you should be expecting out of EA. Check out his five predictions for next season and be sure to add your own!

Quote:
"You can call it shock, a surprise, a rude awakening, an eye-opener or a bolt from the blue.

Whatever you call it, EA Sports' critical success in football gaming this year was completely unexpected from this writer. I expected the games to be improved, but I never envisioned both NCAA and Madden getting above average reviews overall. When you throw in Head Coach 09's generally favorable feedback, it seems as if EA football is on a major uptick."

We have just posted our review of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09.

Quote:
"Golf has an unmistakable empty feeling nowadays without Tiger Woods prowling around golf courses on Sundays. Luckily for us digital sports fans, we can now partake in a round of golf against Tiger, torn ACL or not in real life. Better yet, we can take in a round of golf as Tiger in this year's edition of Tiger Woods from EA Sports."

NCAA Football 09 has received a mixed reaction thus far in the OS Community, which is of no suprise. Check out what Chris Sanner had to say about the game in his article Despite Flaws, NCAA 09 a Great Experience.

Quote:
"As it stands right now, NCAA Football 09 is a game which is extremely fun to play warranting a high review score. While there is just enough wrong with the gameplay out of the box to hold it back from receiving a 9 or higher, I would give it a score some where just below that mark if I were the one reviewing the game."

Wil McCombs checks in this afternoon with a brief article with his impressions on what he experienced with NCAA Football 09 last night after he purchased the game at launch. Check out his article, Some Late-Night NCAA Football 09 Thoughts.

Quote:
"My twenty-seventh birthday began only a few hours ago as I hoped it would: groggily leaving the parking a nearby GameStop with my new copy of NCAA 09. All this after waking up at 4 a.m. in another state the previous morning, then driving/working for over twelve hours. Such is the plight of the working man. I suppose that it’s an example of my commitment, or my insanity, depending on how you look at it."

It is understandable if you found yourself confused or lost through all of the madness of this past weekend in the NCAA Forums here at Operation Sports. Now that we have made it to Monday, d-day for many NCAA gamers, it is time to start thinking if NCAA Football 09 is worth the money or not. Be sure to check out our latest article, NCAA Football 09: To Buy or Not to Buy to help make your decision!

Quote:
"The collective NCAA community has gone through a huge range of emotions the past 48 hours or so. Those emotions have undoubtedly ranged from envy, anger, concern, confusion, crazyness, and even sheer joy for some.

This wide range of emotions all stems from many gamers across the country scoring early copies of NCAA Football 09. Unfortunately, these select few gamers have taken the NCAA Community along a wild ride which has led to many gamers deciding to discount buying NCAA Football 09 altogether."

As with every big game release, many copies of NCAA Football 09 have found their way onto store shelves before they were officially supposed to go on sale. Both the Operation Sports forums and our network site, MaddenMania have of course acquired some of those early copies -- what type of "hardcore" gamers would they be if they hadn't?

And as with every big game release, not every facet of the game is perfect. (See: possible bugs). There are threads setup to talk about the aforementioned possible bugs in the threads listed below. Both sites also have threads setup for general gameplay impressions. Check those threads out at the link below as well.

Thanks to some inspiration by OS member wazzucoug02, Chris Sanner sat down in the virtual war room and broke down all of the programs in FBS (that's the cool kid's new way of saying 1-A) with new coaches. If you want to take over one of these programs, check out what Sanner has to say about how hard it will be to meet expectations at each of these schools in his article, NCAA Football 09: Programs with New Coaches.

Quote:
"The coaching carousel in college football was very active this year with many top jobs opening up after former coaches failed to meet expectations. Some gamers, for the sake of realism, always start off their dynasty with a school that has a greenhorn coach at the helm.

With that in mind, I am going to evaluate each new coaching position in a quick hitting manner to give you a basic overview of what to expect at each new open job as you try to select a dynasty team."

After last week's article discussing the top five rebuilding jobs in College Football, it is only prudent to look at the top five programs which could be on the cusp of greatness already. Check out the top up and coming programs in NCAA Football 09.

Quote:
"College football is a sport built around big-time programs facing off against each other in colossal match-ups to determine conference or national championships. However, every few years there is a newcomer to the Hall of Greatness that tries to spoil the party with a great season of its own.

Past national champions who were not perennial powers include Clemson in 1981, BYU in 1984, Colorado and Georgia Tech in 1990, and Tennessee in 1998. Nowadays, it seems the giants have a firm grip on the top of the college football world."
