Vikings harass Newton all day in victory

Cam Newton was sacked 8 times, knocked down at least 20 times on the day in a blowout victory for Minnesota. Victor Cruz's return sparked the offense, as he caught a touchdown and over 100 yards, something he has grown very accustomed to doing as a VIking.

The VIkings are 7-7, and are in control of their own destiny.

Vikings lose heartbreaker to Green Bay

The Vikings and Packers rivalry is alive and well, as it went down to the final seconds, after back to back great drives by Christian Ponder, then Aaron Rodgers. It came down to a Blair Walsh 59 Yard Field Goal that barely missed, and now the Vikings fall to 6-7, while the Packers are 7-6. The Vikings will more than likely have to win out to have a chance at the postseason.

Vikings win 5th straight, climb back into playoff picture

The Vikings, for the moment, have saved their season. They are 6-6, and are 2nd in the NFC North behind the Detroit Lions. They have 4 games left, and their hot streak must continue.

Christian Ponder started slow, but he picked his play up late, spreading the ball around then throwing 3 touchdowns to each of his 3 top targets. Adrian Peterson rushed for over 100 yards, and the rookie corner Devin Mangiro got his second pick six of the year.

The struggling Chicago Bears travel to Minnesota to take on a red hot Minnesota Vikings team that is on a 4 game winning streak. This is arguably the most important game for these two teams this year, because the winner will be 2nd in the division behind the Detroit Lions. The Vikings will look to use Adrian Peterson, while the Bears will look to the arm of Jay Cutler to carry them past the Vikings.

Vikings win streak continues after huge game from defense, Harvin

Percy Harvin reminded everyone why he is one of the most dynamic players in the NFL, after turning 2 short receptions into 80+ yard touchdowns. Christian Ponder played well, dissecting the tough 49ers defense after they shut down Peterson.

Ponder utilized Simpson, Childs, and Rudolph very well, converting key 3rd downs. And the defense harassed Alex Smith all day, sacking him 5 times and picking him off 3 times.

The Vikings are on a roll, winning 4 straight, and now have a chance to get to 6-6.

The Vikings continue to surge back from their 1-6 start, now sitting at 4-6, in the middle of the NFC North. This is the biggest game of the year for them, going up against a very tough 49ers team that will look to shut down the run game. Ponder will have to put the game on his shoulders and lead the team to success.

Greg Childs & Vikings Defense shines in 3rd straight victory

The Vikings are now tied for 3rd in the division, and they are on the way back into relevancy. Greg Childs had another huge game in the wake of Victor Cruz's injury, and the VIkings defense is waking up, completely shutting down the Bears offense, limiting them to 3 points. They are starting to generate more sacks and turnovers, the things that made them extremely successful last year.

Shoulder Tear (4 Weeks)

Game Notes
The Vikings are on a 2 game winning streak, and travel to Soldier Field to face their rival Bears. This is a must win game, as it would tie them with the Bears in the division for 3rd place, and help continue their crawl back into postseason conversation.

Vikings defense, Adrian Peterson carry the Vikings

Don't let the stats fool you, Christian Ponder had another down game. He completed 14/33 of his passes, and completed two late touchdowns to Greg Childs. The game was decided by Percy Harvin's punt return, Adrian Peterson's huge performance, and the defense that picked off Cassel 5 times, including 3 by the rookie Devin Mangiro.

The Vikings rise to 3-6, and are continuing a comeback tear. They still have lots of work to do, but the play from Peterson, Childs, and Harvin is extremely uplifting.

Game Notes
The Vikings are coming off of a huge victory last week against the top team in the league, the Philadelphia Eagles. This week, they travel to Kansas City to take on the winless Chiefs. The Vikings should be able to move to 3-6 after this week, and continue their comeback tear.

Minnesota Vikings receiver Victor Cruz out for 5 weeks after shoulder tear

After Victor Cruz missed 4 weeks due to a broken wrist, he returned to the Vikings against the Philadelphia Eagles. Two catches later, he was out again, with a torn shoulder. The Vikings will have to wait 5 weeks to get their dynamic receiver back.

Luckily for them, Greg Childs has stepped up in his absence.

Vikings save their season, blow out the Eagles at home

The Vikings scored early, and never looked back. The Vikings clicked on all cylinders for the first time since Week 2, and showed how good they can be. They shut down the #1 offense in the NFL and the reigning MVP. They scored a defensive touchdown, and Greg Childs had another great performance. The Vikings could be on the rise after this huge victory, but there is still a long way to go to get back to relevancy.
