Minnesota Vikings trade two draft picks to New York Giants for wide receiver Victor Cruz
The Minnesota Vikings have been a surprise this year in 2012, beating the heavily favored San Francisco 49ers, and the Jacksonville Jaguars to start out 2-1. Losing rookie wide receiver Greg Childs for the year hurt them, and Jerome Simpson hasn't been everything they had hoped. The Vikings sent a 2nd and a 4th round pick to the New York Giants for the young, and explosive Victor Cruz.
Victor Cruz was obviously shocked at the news. "I thank New York for the opportunity to let me blossom here. I am proud to now be a member of the Minnesota Vikings."
The Vikings take on the Detroit Lions this Sunday, and Victor Cruz will make his debut alongside Percy Harvin.
Vikings Rally in 4th Quarter to Beat Tough 49ers squad..
It was looking like a repeat of the loss to Indianapolis last week; turnovers from Christian Ponder, and the inability to finish in the red zone. The 49ers scored 10 points off of 2 Ponder interceptions, but late in the 4th quarter, Adrian Peterson got the Vikings within striking distance by scoring a long touchdown. Getting the ball back with 6 minutes to go, Christian Ponder drove the Vikings down field, leading to a game winning Peterson touchdown run.

Mistake prone Vikings comeback falls short against the Colts
The Vikings started extremely slow in Indianapolis, allowing 21 points in the first half. They managed to crawl back into the game late, as Adrian Peterson scored a 1 yard touchdown, and Christian Ponder threw a strike to rookie Jarius Wright in the back of the end zone. Christian Ponder has strong debut, carves up Jacksonville secondary..
The Vikings dominated the Jaguars after taking a 7-6 lead in the 2nd quarter. The defense held the Jaguars offense to 100 passing yards, and under 100 rushing yards for Maurice Jones-Drew. Christian Ponder utilized Percy Harvin and Kyle Rudolph very well, hitting Harvin for bubble screens for 30 yards. Jerome Simpson broke off of Rashean Mathis on a post route, and Ponder hit him in stride for a touchdown in the 2nd quarter.
Adrian Peterson had a bounceback game after his ACL and MCL tear last Christmas. He rushed for over 100 yards and 2 scores. Clearly he is back.
The Vikings travel to Indianapolis next week. In injury news, Chris Cook may have suffered a groin tear.

I have decided to start my first dynasty as taking control of my favorite NFL, and my hometown team, the Minnesota Vikings. The goal obviously is to lead them to their first Superbowl win, but I want to turn Christian Ponder into a top 5 quarterback along the way.
Here is the final roster before I begin the games. No big additions besides the FA acquisition of wide receiver Andrew Hawkins. He is #6 on the depth chart.
