Minnesota Vikings sign free agent Randall Cobb to 4 year deal

The Vikings have decided that they were weak in their 3rd and 4th string receivers last year, which really held them back in the Super Bowl. They have added Randall Cobb to a receiving corps that now features Percy Harvin, Victor Cruz, Randall Cobb, and Greg Childs.

Minnesota Vikings sign free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick to 5 year deal

The Vikings take no chances on the injury-prone Christian Ponder's backup, and lock up Kaepernick to back him up. They sign him to a cheap 5 year deal worth 18 million.

Vikings fall to Browns in Super Bowl

What a bitter end to an amazing season by the 13-3 Vikings. Christian Ponder seen above, could only watch on the sideline as McLeod Bethel-Thompson, the inexperienced replacement, led his Vikings to the Super Bowl, and to a loss. The Vikings held close, by a late pick six by Cleveland ended the game.

The Vikings will walk into the offseason disappointed, but they no doubt could make a run next year. The talent on this roster could bring them back to the playoffs year in and year out.

Game Notes
The Minnesota Vikings face the Cleveland Browns in the Super Bowl. The Cleveland Browns are lead by a young cast, including All-Pro running back Trent Richardson, and a great receiving corps with Greg Little, and Josh Gordon. The defense has also been stout in the playoffs. The Vikings have been winning games with a suffocating defense that forces the offense into mistakes, then Adrian Peterson has been on an amazing stretch since returning from injury. The winner will receive the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Mistral Raymond, Adrian Peterson, heroes in Vikings victory, team headed to Super Bowl

A teary Adrian Peterson voiced to the crowd at Mall of America Field, "This is for you!" Adrian broke a 51 yard touchdown run to seal the Super Bowl berth with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter. The Vikings defense was hot all afternoon, shutting down to explosive Falcons offense for the most part.

The Vikings will face either the Browns or the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Vikings defense dominates Packers in blowout victory

The Vikings offense played very slow in the first half, but because of the outstanding performance from the defense, it didn't matter. 5 interceptions of Aaron Rodgers forced the Packers into tough field position, not to mention great play from the special teams unit. One time all day the Vikings started on the 20, the other times, they were in Packer territory.

The Vikings defense showed its potential to cover the injuries that plague the offense. McLeod Bethel-Thompson did enough to lead the team to a blowout victory at the dome. The Vikings must feel great after this win, and await to see who their opponent will be in the championship round.

The Vikings coming off of their bye week, host the rival Green Bay Packers who just put 61 points on the New York Giants. The Vikings will have to play their best defense if they hope to advance in the playoffs. They have Adrian Peterson back from injury though, which can only make matters better.
