Game Notes
The Cowboys offense has been red hot despite losing Dez Bryant in the offseason. They will be a tough test for the Vikings, whose defense ranks 8th in the league. The Cowboys have lost two of their stud linebackers, but the true test for the Vikings will be trying to beat Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne. Christian Ponder cannot throw interceptions in this game, because Tony Romo will take advantage.

Vikings explode for 42 points against tough Seattle defense

The Vikings defense shut down Marshawn Lynch besides an 80 yard touchdown to end the 1st half. They held Russell Wilson to under 200 yards passing, and once again the defense forced turnovers. Jasper Brinkley recovered 2 fumbles, Adrian Peterson rushed for 2 scores, and Christian Ponder threw 3 scores, two to newly acquired Randall Cobb, and 1 more to Cruz.

The Vikings are clicking on all cylinders, especially the defense. If the Vikings keep this up, another postseason berth will be on the horizon.

Game Notes
The Vikings defense played to it's potential last week, and now on Sunday Night Football, they need to do it again against a tough Seahawks team. Seattle's defense has been shutting down the run, and the key for them will be shutting down Adrian Peterson, the league's leading rusher. Christian Ponder will try to remain mistake free again, as he has been solid ever since returning from injury.

Vikings defense scores 2 touchdowns in rout of Bears

The Bears fumbled the opening kickoff to the Vikings, and never looked back. The Vikings recovered 4 Bears fumbles, and returned 2 for scores. They also picked off struggling quarterback Cole Lowe twice. Sam Shields had a great game filling in for Tarus Bogan, scoring a defensive touchdown off of a fumble, and an interception. Chad Greenway had the other touchdown.

The Vikings are now 2-1, and hope to keep the streak alive as they improved their run defense this week.

Game Notes
The Vikings have lost 3 defenders in 2 weeks to injury, which doesn't bode well for the run defense issues they've been having. The Bears have been struggling on both sides of the ball, so this could be a perfect bounce back game for the Vikings.

Vikings run defense disappoints in loss to Steelers

Leslie Frazier addressed the media after the loss to the Steelers, saying "we will figure out our run defense". A defense that was number 1 in the league last year has allowed back to back 100 yard rushers. The Vikings put themselves in an early 17-0 hole they couldn't dig themselves out of.

Game Notes
The Vikings, fresh off of a comeback victory against the rival Lions, travel to Pittsburgh to face a very tough Steelers team. The Steelers ripped the Bengals last week for 48 points, and the defense chipped in for 2 interceptions and a defensive touchdown. Roethlisberger threw for 5 touchdowns, and the Vikings will be tasked with slowing down the high passing attack.

Christian Ponder leads Vikings to late victory in comeback game

Christian Ponder didn't look like he had missed any time. He spread the ball around very well in this game, something the offense missed last year in the playoff run. Adrian Peterson ran well, and Brandon Bolden chipped in with a touchdown to give Adrian a breather.

Randall Cobb had a great debut in the purple, catching 6 balls for 87 yards, including key 3rd down conversions. He is a key player in the Vikings offense.

The only downside to the victory is that All Pro corner Tarus Bogan broke his arm after he intercepted a Matthew Stafford pass. He will miss 3-4 weeks.
