The Vikings rested the starters going into the 3rd quarter, and lost the game on a pick six by Brian Cushing. They are resting for the playoffs, as they have a first round bye locked up. The Texans battled all game long, rushing Arian Foster 29 times, and Schaub going mistake free.
The playoffs schedule will be released soon.

The last week for the Minnesota Vikings regular season ends at home against the Houston Texans, a team that had a disappointing season. Starters have been confirmed to be playing for the Vikings, coach Leslie Frazier said he wants the team to remain focused and treat this as another big game.
Things to watch
-Victor Cruz is competing with Santonio Holmes for most receiving yards on the year. Cruz is 12 yards behind Holmes
-Tarus Bogan has 11 INTs on the year. The record is 14
-Brian Robison looks to continue to increase his single season sack record
Brian Robison sets sack record in shootout victory
Brian Robison now holds the record for most sacks in a season with 23, two years removed from tying the record, he finally broke it. This wasn't the only huge Vikings story from this game, as the Lions took a 38-37 lead with 1:14 to go. McLeod Bethel-Thompson led the Vikings down the field, completing key passes to Victor Cruz and Percy Harvin, and ended it by completing a 30 yard strike to Victor Cruz down to the 34 yard line, to set up Blair Walsh to kick an easy game winner.
The Vikings emotional victory brings them to 13-2 on the year, and guaranteeing a first round bye.

A big NFC North clash, in which the 9-5 Lions travel to Minnesota on Sunday Night Football, trying to grab a wild card spot in a tough division. The Green Bay Packers are 9-5 as well, so this game could be called a must win for Detroit. The Lions are bringing their #1 offense to face the #1 defense in the league, and in recent years, Calvin Johnson has had success against Minnesota.
Redskins run all over Vikings, Vikings quarterbacks combine for 7 turnovers
The Vikings have lost their second game of the year, and it wasn't pretty. Darren McFadden rushed for 250 and 2 scores, and Alfred Morris added another for 3 rushing touchdowns total. The Vikings rush defense was on the field for almost 3/4 of the game, as the Vikings quarterbacks combined for 7 interceptions.
After Bethel-Thompson threw his 4th, coach Leslie Frazier pulled him for Joe Webb, who threw 2 scores, but also 3 more interceptions. The Vikings have 2 home games to get healthy, and figure out their quarterback situation for the playoffs.

The Vikings travel to the nation's capital to face the electric Robert Griffin III on Monday Night Football, in a game which could turn into a shootout. The Redskins defense has been terrible this year, bottom 5 in yards allowed, while the Vikings offense has been outstanding, even with a backup quarterback in. The one bump is the Vikings will be playing Brandon Bolden instead of Adrian Peterson.
Interesting things to note...
-Brian Robison has 20 sacks on the year, 2.5 short of the all time record
-Tarus Bogan and Devin Mangiro, both 1 year veterans, are combined for a league high 16 interceptions and 2 touchdowns
Adrian Peterson went down in the 4th quarter after a helmet to helmet hit which resulted in a fumble. He broke his jaw on the play, and his status is unknown for the rest of the season.
McLeod Bethel-Thompson has a so-so day, throwing 16/30, 180 and a score, but his two early INTs slowed down the VIkings offense. Victor Cruz only had 9 yards receiving, but a touchdown. The Vikings defense was the story though, sacking Alex Smith 8 times, and picking him off once.

The 49ers are sitting at 5-7, after completely revamping their passing offense, are still disappointing a year off of being in the NFC Championship game. The Minnesota Vikings come to San Francisco after their first loss, with Bethel-Thompson leading the offense very well. He is 1-1 as a starter, but the only loss was by 2 points. The Vikings will test this great defense by going back to their bread and butter, Adrian Peterson.
The Bears upset the Vikings in primetime, and maybe this took a monkey off of the Vikings back. The first loss needed to come at some point with a new quarterback at the helm, but it didn't come in bad fashion. If the Vikings had converted the 2 point conversion, the game would have went to overtime, but they fell one play short.
The run defense let the Vikings down today, allowing Brandon Jacobs to rack up 150 yards, and allowed a running score to Michael Bush.
The Vikings will need to shrug their first loss off, and get back on track after a long week.

Thursday Night Football at Soldier Field, and the 4-7 Bears look to upset their divisional rivals, the perfect Minnesota Vikings. The Bears will look to stop the Vikings attempts at a perfect record, and it could be possible, due to their disruptive defense. McLeod Bethel-Thompson will have a tough outing on a short week against a tough defense.
Vikings dominate Jaguars en rout to 11th straight win
The Vikings have improved to 11-0, and dominated the 6-4 (now 5) Jaguars, who's team may now be crumbling under a deceiving winning record. The Jaguars offense outside of MJD, has been absolutely terrible this year, and it was exposed today especially.
Blaine Gabbert couldn't do anything, getting sacked because he refused to throw the ball away, and he only threw under 150 yards. MJD broke a garbage time touchdown, which ruined the shutout attempt for the Vikings defense, which played admirably.

Game Notes
The 10-0 Vikings with MBT at the helm travel to Jacksonville to take on a much improved Jaguars team. The Vikings are 6 games away from a perfect season, and still have much of a hill to climb. The Jaguars are 6-4, and have been dominating with the rushing attack. The Vikings will need to be conservative on offense with their new quarterback, and eat up the clock and control the scoreboard. The defense has been great, and they will look to shutdown MJD, and force Blaine Gabbert to put the game on his shoulders.

McLeod Bethel-Thompson leads VIkings to victory in his first start
The Minnesota Vikings are now 10-0, and did so with a win by first start quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson, who threw for over 200 yards and a couple of scores. The Vikings have proven their depth, but did so against a terrible opponent who held their own this game. The Vikings knocked starting quarterback Dante Calloway out of the game in the 4th quarter.
The Vikings are 6 games away from perfection, can they do it with a new quarterback at the helm? Despite a very energizing performance from MBT, the Vikings still have 6 games, but what matters most is the playoffs. How will a new quarterback deal with leading a team in the playoffs?
