Note: These are NOT "No Switch Rule" Sliders, as much as they are "Play Defense" sliders...I rush as a DL / break the pocket, switch to tackle in the run game and occasionally switch to swat a pass...you don't have to be a controller jockey or button mash, but you do have to participate FULLY on D...

Big Thanks to Trojan Man for helping me with the set in both the development and testing phases, as well as StefJoeHalt, who also helped fine tune and test the set. JoshC also had some great insights re: penalties / concepts, that were implemented into the set...

The goal was to remain true to AP Default while addressing the following issues:

1) Lack of CPU run game

2) Too easy to move the ball on offense for the HUM

3) Not quite as challenging as desired, with regard to the overall performance by the CPU

4) No fumbles, that seem to be brought out a bit more by having fatigue at 70 and the "arm tackles" versus "body tackles" at the lower setting (45)

This is the set that we agreed addressed those concerns and brought about the most "Stat Accurate" results in all major and minor statistical categories. Nothing is perfect (lack of fumbles, etc.), but as seasoned players know, this is a title of "trade offs".

The "little stats" like Pancakes / BTK / YAC for HBs / etc. have all been addressed and "leveled out" between the HUM and CPU players, to the degree that it can be!

Enjoy!

Well said, kp88!

I've been following this current post ptach mess in JoshC's thread and it's quite discouraging...

The CFM / Single Player v CPU / Sim crowd has somehow fallen below the bottom of the priority list with this game's developers...

I enjoy a couple other sports titles, BUT as a die hard "football guy" I'm stuck with this series...

As a result, (to reiterate) next year I'm signing out after the second patch permanently...

For the past few iterations, EVERY non-related update has sent us CFM guys back to the drawing board, with diminishing returns...

This isn't the only sports title that engenders "unintended consequence" though patches, but it is the most egregious offender...by a looooong shot...

I very much appreciate your compliments and input re: the set posted...

I'm likely to post another for M17, but I'm also going to become an advocate for the "sign out strategy" going forward...

And thats that......You had mentioned to me a couple times about moving on to 2k for the summer, but I still came back here every day or so just in case.
I, too, am usually long gone by now. But I just had so much fun with this set this year, I still had 2 HUGE projects going on (week6/season 6 of a Vikings, and week 17 of an Oakland CFM). The fact that through those and a handful of others, I never changed a thing, and never even felt compelled to. THAT is why I was still playing.

Thanks again man, I'll be looking for you this August!!!!

Thanks awffltony!

It WAS a great year for this series, despite everything...

I'm hoping to have something up in late September, because I usually wait until after that big patch to try and "finalize"...to the degree one can...

Hey King! Just wanted to say I'm still using your sliders in year 2022!

My team is pretty good, but I still get close games. I've won by 3 twice this year and by less than 8 like 5 times. There are the occasional blowout and I've lost a few games too (but I never lose by more than 7)

I'm just impressed that I've played this many seasons...the game play is still pretty exciting.

Only complaint I have, is after this last tuner, QB accuracy is just off the charts. Against good teams, I give up north of 400 passing yards a game....but I guess that's realistic !

Did you have any recent modifications to the sliders?

Hey Josiphos!

Like I said a couple posts back:

This latest / last tuner mess came too late in the cycle for me to adjust things to...again...

EVERY patch over the past couple / few iterations has jacked up QBA and there's only so much "room" to continue to recalibrate...

Good to see there's still holding up reasonably well, considering...

So I should just delete the tuner? Not sure how it got back in there...must have been one of those "you need this, download it" like the annoying Windows 10 thing.

If you can, it's worth a try!

This is why I keep my PS4 signed out of the internet...

I don't get stuck with the "unintended consequences" of tuners and patches that haven't been vetted by the community...

Most of those updates are targeted at other game modes anyway, so...
