NHL 21 Colorado Avalanche Season 1 Game 1

Started a new Franchise Mode with Colorado after switching to Cycloniac's True Sim sliders and learning how to work around some of the various bugs currently plaguing the mode. I did a little GM work before the season, moving Tyson Jost to Montreal for their 2nd and 3rd round picks in the 2021 entry draft. To fill out the roster I signed Alex Galchenyuk and Michael Stone on 1 year deals. With Stone as the 7th D, I can let Byram and Timmins develop in the minors.

20/21 Season Game 1 Minnesota Wild @ Colorado Avalanche

It was opening night of the season and the Avs took on hated rival Minnesota at the newly renamed Ball Arena. The game played out in typical rivalry fashion, fast paced and tight checking. The only goal of the night came late in the 1st period when Bellemare sent a nice pass from behind the net for Nichushkin to bury past Talbot. Philipp Grubauer was outstanding, making 39 saves en route to a shutout.
