These types of presentations should sometimes be shown perhaps like right after the inning break. This is usually when they show this kind of stuff on real baseball Broadcasts. Because the issues now is you only get to see all these funny presentations if you put the controller down for a while. So a lot of us most likely will never even see these presentations!

And also just like on real baseball broadcasts when returning from the inning break instead of going right to the first batter all the time instead you should sometimes hear the commentators with pretty on screen overlays maybe talking about upcoming team schedules, game start times and pitching Match ups, Standing updates, RBI and Home Run leaders, News from around the league and so on! MLB 2K did a lot of these kind presentations during the game.

These kind of enhancements would send MLB The Show's presentation though the the Roof!!!

Yeah, that's the beauty of televised baseball. It doesn't feel rushed. The commentators can go off on a well timed tangent about the current state of the league, an MVP race, an upcoming schedule, a prospect... and you it can all be between a pitch or after a break.

I don't get the infatuation of on-air talent, it has never done anything for me. I really appreciated NFL 2K "actors" being broadcasters it was probably the best ever.

I've actually mentioned this, specifically seeing the mascots walking around in the stadium in real time. Not just the cutscenes on top of the dugout. The cool thing I learned during one of the CDs was that those cutscenes actually happen in real-time. I don't know if it's in this year, but would love to see this too.

That, and actual manned TV cameras throughout the stadium, lol.

I think it'd be neat if, before each game, they have an MLB Network studio host (maybe Greg Amsinger) doing a quick overview of the match-up and throwing things over to the broadcast team, and the broadcast team acknowledging it.

The new announcers are certainly a welcome addition, but if the commentary isn't more dynamic or varied then it will get stale quickly.

I hope references to home runs that happened earlier in the game have more varied commentary as well as the highlight package at the end of the game. As it stands now the commentary in those areas is stale and repetitive.

NEWS FLASH!!!!

All Videogame commentary is and will become stale. It is the nature of "recording". People champion NBA 2k but they don't play franchise, if you play franchise for longer than 5 games you will know, this game suffers from what all sports games suffer from stale old repetitive lines.

There is no Holy Grail, dynamic commentary, just play and slay.

This is why I don't understand videogame makers not doing the obvious.

Make commentary around fundamentals/animations, general OSD's. Leave the stories to the story tellers.

Hence the word dynamic. If it is dynamic and refers to numbers or situations that happened earlier in the game then it is less likely to get stale.

Now that's actually a "little thing" I would love to see after all these years of no cameramen..

Dynamic, was a sarcastic statement, there is nothing dynamic about "recording".

If dynamic is defined as constant change then maybe the only real way to replicate that in sports video games would be to have the commentary done the same way as those dynamic roster updates. Even if its paid-for DLC

I think this is a very interesting idea... though I'm not sure .

I like the idea of being able to replay some highlights using those different (preset) camera angles and simply stitch them together to create realistic broadcast style movies.

You could try to do this with the existing camera feature but it cannot be moved off the field into the stand and also it's quite a chore to create them without using preset.

I assume you're a pirates fan.

My dream is to have a Greg brown's clear the deck calling in the game just for the bucco's.

That would be awesome. Matty V references Browny's "clear the deck" call sometimes during replays of home runs.

SDS, for your presentation stream please let the CPU vs CPU play for about a half of an inning or so. No talking, just let us watch and listen. And oh please can you tell us if he Batter Pitcher analysis is back on the D-Pad or is it still in the pause menu.

I'm guessing they won't have Fast Play on, yeh?

# 218 NDAlum @ 03/02/17 02:51 PM
Lyons and Karros out makes me pretty happy.

I'm just hoping they start to mention what actually happens in MY franchise now more often. I want a ton of specific commentary to what is going on.

I can dream

16's franchise commentary is pretty dynamic when talking about your team. If 17 improves on that then I think we will have a real gem of a game.

Yea I am excited to see the Dev Stream to see if they built onto that because it was on point last year.
