Oh man, this is such a pet peeve of mine and I completely forgot about it until you mentioned it. If I'm winning by 10 and I hit a HR to make it 13, the next AB... "Let's flash back to the middle innings, this was a turning point here, a three-run HR"... There's no variation.. Just because he hit a 3-run HR they are just banking that it was a turning point in the game...

Another one that irks me is if the game is a blowout and someone on the losing team hits a 2-run HR while still being blown out and the next AB they flash back... "Without a doubt one of the plays of the game"... When it had absolutely no effect on the outcome lol.

If they were able to tweak little things like this, I'd be soooooo happppyyyyy

Don't go to Citi Field if that's the case. Shame, place is gorgeous...

I miss the "Hertz Donut" sign on the outfield wall...

Oh well, to each their own.

By the way the Jays tried some games with a three man booth adding Shulman to the broadcast. While I like Shulman as well I'm not a fan of the three man team unless there is a great chemisty between the announcers.
Buck stole that and altered it from the great Bob uecker. But ya that three man booth didn't work well I agree. Dan and tabby lol
Buck was in a baseball game triple play 2001.
That game had the greatest arcade homerun derby of all time

Questions that need to be asked in next weeks twitch blog gameplay stream.

1. Has anything be done to fix the issue where the ball hangs to long in the air compared to real life ball physics?

2. Has anything been done to cut down on so many little hits into the ground in front of home plate?

3. Has anything been done to stop the catcher from popping up from the Crouch Position way to fast to catch and field balls?

4. This is sort of gameplay related has Fatigue been improved so players do not get tried as fast and need to be rested more often in Season and Franchise mode compared to real life?

Can anyone think of anything else as far as gameplay is concerned?

Fix the interleague scheduling. Year to year the same teams are scheduled. Fix the constant line drives off the pitcher and he seldom goes out with an injury. I mean how often does a pitcher really get hit. Maybe once a week? It happens in almost every played game. If a pitcher takes a line drive off his head or pitching arm they arent alright. Last year was better but performance needs to mean something in regression. Not all older players suck in their late 30's. Look at Adrian Beltre. If he is hitting and having a good season why does he regress 10 points over the season? Obviously age isnt playing a part

I have an OT question...

Does the actual player come into the studio to mo-cap their stance or delivery?

Just curious.

Ken Griffy Jr is the first time I've seen an actual player come in. I believe the staff motion captures themselves recreating the rest as best as they can. With the hundreds of swings and pitching deliveries, that is the only way to do it.

I believe they also travel to Spring Training and scan new players as well.

Got it... Whoever does the stances/deliveries is very good! They really nail them!

Will the catcher signals become consistent and easy to decipher this year. What I mean is if he puts 1 finger down and make a gesture, will it be consistent throughout, will that gesture mean the same thing everytime? I would like to turn off the HUD and have a symbiotic relationship with the catcher. While were at it, there needs to be a chemistry meter with pitcher and catcher. Some Pitchers prefer a catcher that may not be the greatest hitter, but he knows the pitcher and what he likes to throw.

Pitcher and Catcher stats

Record 7-8
Innings 86
Strike Outs 48
Called Strikes 2,000
Swinging Strike Outs 58

This relationship needs to be paid attention to and not be ignored anymore, this relationship reflects confidence, and confidence in pitch types, as well as in the clutch e.g. payoff pitch.

Tangent and Rant end.

I hope the umpires outfits were updated.

Last year they got new outfits.

The Blue stripes on the shoulders of the umpire's black pullover jackets are very blurry.

Speaking of managers, one little thing I'm hoping for is the ability to see who the manager is for other teams.

I hate after the first season and there are coaching changes and I don't know who went where

Two of the "smaller" changes I hope to see is the return of season stats after the first or second at-bat during a game showing up when the overlay is displayed that they are 0-3 or 1-2 or whatever. Not really sure why that was like that. Also, when a player hits a homerun, it will be dope to see in the overlay that accompanies it, the number it was (10th of the year...etc) for them. Right now it just says Solo Home Run (or whichever it was) -- Distance of HR.

I know I probably explained that poorly...yea.

how much of these graphical improvements/feature sets are going to be for the pro only??? that is my big worry for those of us that are still playing on the original PS4 and on a 1080P tv... are we looking at feature separation like we did from a PS4 to PS3 point of view??

will this game turn into another system/tv seller for PS4 Pro and 4K tvs???
