I saw the Ramone Russell post about the correct tweaking of player abilities by the primary and secondary positions they are assigned, and my hope is the "Cat and Mouse" is pre-disposing Catcher abilities to read and react to baserunners according to their defensive ratings.

The "showtrack" and "Launch Pad" descriptions truly lead me to believe there is something special coming our way as far as overall game presentation. My God, if it's Lauren Shehadi and Peter Gammons anywhere, I'm gonna just say "take my money now"! lol

But the thing that has me most excited of all is the Create-A-Player revamps and Franchise Front Office possibilities. I can only dream of all these developers might be allowing us control over- Stadium stuff, Spring Training "invites" and additional offseason stuff, tweaking the personalities and tendencies of players you are trying to sign, etc.

As far as classic stadiums go, I am very happy to see my Metrodome back-even though in RL the place was a cavern of nothing, it holds dear memories of championships to me and I shall use it for 50% of my home games in the first Twins Franchise I try for '17!

BRING ON THE DEV STREAMS, SONYSANDIEGOSTUDIOS!

You think we might get stance socks as a new brand too?

It sounds silly, but with all this talk of freshening up OSDs and presentation elements, I always come back to a new font. A think something a little slicker would be a nice touch on top of any other improvements. Maybe the network presentation will spur a change there, but I really want to see it across all aspects of the UI.

Not only is he annoying but he is often wrong about things that happen in the game. The man played in the majors and doesn't understand in-game strategy at times.

As a graphic designer I 100% agree with this. I've been thinking it to myself for years but didn't think anyone else really noticed or cared. The current font is functional, but sort of stiff and amateurish at the same time. Even NASCAR Heat Evolution -- a game miles behind The Show in terms of quality and content -- implements a better UI font.

Does SDS, have a deal with twitch? can they not link their broadcast to archive with youtube, so that the stream lives past 2 weeks.

What do you mean they only last 2 weeks?
The streams from last year are still viewable

Already answered above, but someone usually takes the twitch stream and moves it over to youtube after the fact.

I can't wait!!

Only thing I am wondering is if the video they release on Tuesday will have any of the new improved graphics or will it be from a much older build before they added all the new graphic goodies?

Because if it is an older build without most of the new graphic features I bet anything alot of us hear will be complaining about how 17 looks just like 16 lol

I am way more excited about the upcoming MLB The Show 17 news then I am about the Super Bowl that's for sure and I am a huge football fan too.

Thanks.
Did twitch policy change? 2 weeks tops for archives was their policy.

It definitely will look the same at first. If someone is just an average fan and doesn't know any different I wouldn't blame them for thinking that. It's usually not until a week before and then when we get it that it looks different. Although past few iterations things haven't changed much IMO player wise anyways

I still don't see what is so bad about the current graphics.

I may be setting myself up for disappointment, but I am hoping that "Franchise Launch Pad" is a new relocation/expansion mode for franchise.

We would be able to "launch" a new franchise, and use the Diamond Dynasty logo/uniform creator to design the look of the new franchise.

After that, we would be able to pick a stadium where our new franchise would play home games. I would not expect a stadium creator this year, but perhaps if they expanded such a mode in the future, they could include that feature.

I guess we will find out in a few weeks, but I am crossing my fingers!

It's more likely to be where you can start a franchise at any point of the season, in real life, and all stats and results from real life are up to date in your franchise. Then from that point on you control the results.

What I really want is that aspect, but where you only control your games and the rest of the league is based on real life. So if the Cubs are 60-34 in real life and your A's are 40-52, you only impact what the A's are doing and the Cubs stats are based on real life. The only time the Cubs stats would change based on your playing is if you played A's vs Cubs in the franchise. Then the Cubs stats would vary, slightly, from real life.

Doubt the latter part happens anytime soon in a video game, but pretty sure launchpad is the first described part in my post here.

Excuse me if it's obvious, but why is your speculation more likely? The only information we have received are the words "Franchise Launch Pad". Like I said, my speculation is likely incorrect, but I'm not sure how you can be confident in a new feature based on three words.

What I would like to see on the cat & mouse game:

- the ability to to take smaller steps lead at first base. Right now, 1 step and pitcher get a hint and will try to pick you up. 2 steps and you're out most of the time. Taking half-step increment would lead to more cat&mouse type of game challenge where you'll have to find out how far you can stretch it with each runner.

- cat & mouse between the runners and the catcher. A catcher who knows the runner on first base is a rabbit will first position himself differently and will try to accelerate his throw to second. For sure this come with a payoff in terms of accuracy and I guess the probably to drop the ball when quickly transferring the ball from the glove to throwing hand.

If this is now in this week please take it as a suggestion for next year :-)
