NBA 2K17 Face Scan App (MyNBA2K17) Available For Android & iOS Devices

MyNBA2K17 is available now for Android users on the Google Play Store and according to Ronnie, it is scheduled to arrive for iOS devices at 6:00 AM PST.

UPDATE #2: The servers are down.

UPDATE #3: The servers are up and MyTEAM Mobile seems to work, but switching over to NBA 2K17 to get a face scan, gives you the following error:

As we hear anything, we will continue to update this post, but let us know what you're seeing.

Ronnie also mentions that you won't be able to see your scan until The Prelude is released on Friday, but you will be able to scan your face with the app.

Only the card game is available for now. Probably in 10-12h the NBA2k17 side of the app will be activated.

I'm quite entertained by the little cards, though.

Well, the servers are working now...BUT, now we also know that you need a valid 2K17 save to earn VC at all.

In other words, no VC or meeting goals until the Prelude drops...or, if that doesn't allow VC either, wait until the full game drops.

I just tested this by signing in with Google, played some quick games, then went to sign in with my PS4 name and it wouldn't let me, because I didn't have a 2K17 save just yet.

I was excited to check out the face scan feature. Guess there's no point of opening the app back up until tomorrow.

Yea, I was really only excited for the face scan feature. I've played the card game in the past and I like it alright but really wanted to get my scan in BEFORE tomorrow AND be able to view it. I had to scan my face like 20 times last year with the PS Camera before I got a decent one. How am I supposed to know how the scan turned out?

Only thing I don't get is not being able to see your scan before you upload it into the game.

If it turns out to be awful, can we rescan? Or are we stuck with a pretty much blind face scan?

App comes out to scan face, can't see face scan without demo that isn't out and can't even scan face until you have played 2K17 which isn't out. What is the point if you have to at least wait until tomorrow?

A lot of people, including myself, want to try it out and make the scan as good as possible. Knowing how touchy the scan was using the Kinect/PSCamera, who knows how long it will take to get a good scan with the app? Why release the app early if you can't use it?

Add to that the fact that we can't even preview it within the app when the Prelude does come out, and it just makes it more frustrating.

I was expecting EA type thing....scan, add hair etc etc then you're ready to go.
Instead we get a blind scan so we have no clue how good the scans are....brilliant planning 2k

All of this is FREE, stop bashing the app just because you need to wait 24h to use the scan...

Makes no sense to me, man. Like why go halfway? Lives app was literally perfect. Scan, edit and review all before you chose your final face.

This is like going on a blind date and trusting your homeboy that the girl looks like Janet Jackson.

It would have served them better to let us know that everything wouldnt be available until the 9th....so even if they needed to drop the app on the 8th in preperation, we would know what to expect. Instead they advertise it as available on the 8th and the night before Ronnie drops in says you wont be able to preview your face.

I never really get worked about this stuff- its whatever....just....odd decision making here
