The 2K development team traveled to all 30 NBA arenas to record and analyze the different sounds exclusive to each arena. Logging thousands of miles to bring you the most authentic experience in a sports game ever, watch how each arena in NBA 2K17 will have it's own flavor and be more realistic than ever before.
I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying it doesnt happen most of the time. I've been to a GSW game in Oracle. I've been to a Knicks game in MSG. Ive been to a Thunder game in OKC. Lakers. Philly (during the Iverson years) Atlanta. All regular season games.
The only one where the crowd was constantly on their feet was OKC. The defense chant is always there but is it like what you hear in BluFu's video ....hell no.
The crowd cheers during big plays during the regular season too but compared to the a big dunk during a Playoff game. Not even close unless its a hyped up game like a OKC/CLE game.
Thats my point. The chant should be there but it should be at a 4 instead of an 9 or 10. The cheers should be there but should be somewhat subdued if its a reg season game.
I'm not talking about the crowd being on their feet the whole game. I'm saying the crowds get loud more than you think. You make it sound like it rarely happens outside of big games when there's evidence/history to suggest that it happens often.
Hell, I can run off 10-15 instances of when the crowd gets hype during the regular season and out of that number, the 2K crowd will get hype for maybe 5-7 of those instances, lol.
Didn't people leak gameplay footage? Is there one with normal audio floating around?
Nope. Plus to really know if the issues are fixed we need to see a full game. I played 2k16 yesterday and 3/4 of the game the crowd was fine. It wasnt until the 4th, I heard the first bug.

You are arguing a point that I'm not making though. I'm not saying the crowd shouldnt get loud at all during the regular season. I'm not even arguing that 2k gets it right. I'm saying that Live does it better but its not perfect. Perfection to me is in between Live and 2k. Its a system that recognizes when a big play occurs and responds accordingly.
I dont want the crowd going wild if I do a breakaway dunk with George if the Pacers are down by 20 in the third. I dont want a loud defense chant in Charlotte in the 2nd quarter of a game versus the Magic when I know in real life Charlotte crowds arent that active.
For the sake of argument, I'd like to see THOSE 10-15 instances of the crowd getting LOUD during the regular season (in mid-lower level games). I'm not talking about the 4th quarter of a close game (no matter the level of the game) and I'm not talking about the home team making a big play during a run.
U beat me to it. I was going to post mine when I got from work. That court looks beautiful. Are you on X1? If so what's your gamer tag so I could snatch that Knicks logo? It looks darker than the one 2k uses
This looks and sounds amazing. I remember when NBA Live made a huge focus on this back in 2015 I believe it was and I found myself playing Live 15 at times just for the amazing atmosphere and realistic looking courts.
I am hoping that 2K can come close to that. It was so cool to play in that atmosphere. It felt real.
When they're streaming their broadcast in an hour or so. We should all ask the same question about the Bucks & Knicks court if they're taking questions. They'll have to answer it lol
Would you rather have a great-playing game with the wrong colors?
Or a color-accurate game that played like ****?
That said, don't brag about "arena authenticity" when you don't have it.
90% is something to brag about though, right? Some of the colors are off. Some of the lighting is off. But most of their arenas are spot on. Authenticity doesnt have to equal perfection. With that said, I want them to fix the issues too

In the description of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-SjNwnvM1o, you download it and put it on your account. Best way for X1, PC and PS4 to get it + I don't have to make a bunch of emails.

You want me to name them for MY example that I mentioned originally or for your example where you're now putting qualifiers/limiting what I can use to prove my point?
The only 2 things I disagreed with completely were the 2 posts I originally quoted from you.
Please be easy on me if this has been asked (28 pages is a lot to read through), but how do dunks sound this year? Less like a trash compactor?
I admire 2K's cross-country audio effort, and those additions sound really cool, but I feel like some of their biggest audio issues could have been addressed in-house.

Nobody knows trailer never really showcased it. It would be funny that they recorded the ball sounds but not the rim/dunk sounds.

I believe one of my original posts mention big games and 4th quarters. Those were the only qualifiers.

Appreciate the response, and I agree. I also know nothing about how audio works so I don't know if this has any logic to it but, even if they captured legitimate dunk sounds, I wonder if how they're mixed can make or break their authenticity.
For instance, if they captured the sound of a dunk from point blank range, they'd still have to quell it a little bit to make it sound more like it would during a real broadcast, right?
