NBA 2K17 News Post

Hi everyone! My name is Ben Bishop, and I’m a Senior Producer here at Visual Concepts. I spend most of my time working on all things MyCAREER, so I’m here to fill you in on the new and exciting changes we made for the mode in NBA 2K17.

You’ve probably heard about The Prelude by now, but if you haven’t, check out the trailer, or just try it out. It’ll be available on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network on September 9, and it’s completely free! The Prelude covers the college portion of MyCAREER, and has a ton of great content. If you want a head start on your career, or even just to get a taste of what the game is like this year, I promise it’ll be worth your time. But the intent of this blog is to cover everything ELSE you’ll find in MyCAREER, so let’s get started.

WOW!!! Now THIS is how MyCareer should be. You actually get to make decisions that affect your career. Writing in my vacation today for when 2K17 comes out.

I like the duo thing, thought I would hate it.

It would be cool though that if he could become a rival if you ignore that or I wonder how it works out if you change teams.

2K got Michael B Jordan and Hannibal Burress? 2K are moving up in the video game world...

Wow. The caliber of actors and the writer (guy from Creed) has me really excited for this.

Even BETTER is that this year will be less linear and more based on our choices...

Thats the thing im worrying most about right now. I just hope they get this right once you want to split up. Not everyone wants to play MyDUALCareer...

You guys think the positions of the characters are dynamic?

So when I'm a free agent is the other dude going to follow me? What position does he play? Does he get better too?

As long as you can pull a KD and leave...

I was wondering this also but looking at every stream I've watched he was shorter than everyone. So to be honest I have no clue. maybe he plays a position up of you and if your a pg maybe he's the sg. I also wonder do I get to pull a KD and dip off on my partner in crime?

Can't wait to start my journey a week from today with the Prelude. 2k did not disappoint with this one, last year's MyCareer experience just seemed like it was so forced, pushing my character in one direction and giving him a personality that wasn't necessarily my own. With this I feel as if we will have a lot more control over how our player is perceived and that it will actually affect things, such as endorsements and relationships with people such as your coach, teammates. etc.

I've gotta say that I am indeed hype for this, I'm a 2k guy through and through and it's gunna be hard to balance MyCareer, as I'd like to actually get through a career since I rarely do (longest streak: 4 seasons on DET in 2k14) along with MyTeam and now that they've announced MyLeague Online will actually include an off season, Sept. 16th can't come soon enough.

*Insert Jimmy Butler smirk GIF here since I can't figure out how to post that ish!*
