Mike, here's one that's been killing me for years. Has this maybe been addressed?

When playing defense down low using both sticks to maneuver and get hands up, if a shot goes up and is quickly rebounded by a teammate, for some reason (input lag?) the rebounding player will heave a full court chuck, because the right stick movement is read by the system as a shot.

When I play 12 minute quarter games, it happens to me on average once per game, sometimes twice.

Are you familiar with this, and if so, has anything been done to fix this?

Thanks.

Hey Beluba, still around?

I know you guys focusing on myplayer gameplay when it comes to controls.
Working the sticks and giving players basically FULL control over a player really suits this approach but it doesn't really fit 5 on 5 sim.

I have the feeling that NBA players won't feel different and vast and special in their own regards anymore. It's TOO much control in the players hands for proper sim.

I always dream of a control scheme where you can focus on making basketball desicions instead of recalling memorised Tekken-esque combos. Like I said it fits perfectly to myplayer.

As a gamer you should give basic commands like passing and players react accordingly to who they are, meaning Magic would pass the ball like Magic without me tapping O. It would be so much more natural.

So here is my question

Are there any chances such a control scheme could eventually co-exist next to the current one?

It is probably a lot of work giving each player the ability to decide which move is best for any situation.
But this would be so cool.

Mike, will we be able to create our own free throw form with the shot creator?

Will we be able to in the prelude upgrade or attributes for our my player or do we have to wait till full game comes out to do it!

@Beluba sry if this has been answered already. Has the lob pass been replaced by the overhead skip pass this year? Thank you in advance

The #1 concern I've had this entire year: has fastbreak/transition defense been improved so that people can't auto-score after made baskets by turboing/spam passing the ball up the court behind your Center for an auto dunk?

Just need some advanced players on the sticks for some gameplay now instead of the run and gun, turbo spamming transition clips we've seen so far.

i think they still have the "standardised" free throw signatures i.e. big man equipped with 45 and guards 50.

You know when guys get a steal and they take off down court...the throw-ahead dribble they use when going really fast. Hope that makes sense.

Also, the high dribble PGs sometimes use when setting up the offense at the top of the key.
Yeah, I loved that speed dribble animation. I hope they bring that back.

So no more elite players just bricking shot after shot in NBA 2k17. Sweet!

So if you beat your defender and have a wide open lane or are finishing off a fastbreak layup with no one around, you’re not going to brick the shot even if you completely ignore the timing feature. You still have to take good shots with the right guys to be successful.

dont know if this has been asked already, but is there a easier way to choose your freelance offense now. Since there are 30 of them now, i would assume we can choose them before the game starts

We don't have details on that yet, but most likely there will be a blog from Czar on offense this week that will dive into that and a lot more.

We do know that the play calling has been moved to a pop up wheel of options by pressing LT/LB, but I haven't seen anything yet on freelance offenses and how to access them.

in 2k17, can you rebound/tip in/put back dunk with the RS again?

this feature was cut in 2k16, but i loved this feature in 2k15 as i'm paralyzed and RS putbacks are easier on my hands.

I hope to GOD that the stupid algorithm of 'your player(s) have a random chance to be hot or cold at the beginning of the game, so it's up to you, the user, to figure out who will be the hot hand this game' is completely gone this year. If a player goes hot or cold should SOLELY be dependent on the user's play and decisions, not some goofy random algorithm that chooses for them.

Hey Mike I have one last question if you still check in on this thread....has there been any change to the effectiveness of the AI using the "ICE" mechanic in pick and roll situations. I ask because in 16 there were situations of the AI defender warping into a position to ICE even if they were far out of position at the time of the screen. This caused a lot of bumping that then forced the pickup dribble animation. I do CPU v CPU games so it was very noticeable for me. Just wondering. Thanks in advance for any response.

And i know this isnt a wishlist/request thread but Also there should be a "Transition Starter" toggle in the player edit screen akin to the "Play Initiator" one. This should help simulate bigs who grab boards and go but dont receive the inbound after scores.

I'm just guessing, but if this year is like last year, we'll get a blog from Scott O'Gallagher on defense and defensive AI that will over Ice and lots of other defensive system updates. I would imagine some time this week.
