NBA 2K17 News Post

While these aren't final NBA 2K17 player ratings, as mentioned by Ronnie 2K and LD2K, it definitely gives us a glimpse of what we will see when the game ships. Typically, 2K updates the rosters prior to release. But let's have fun with what we see TODAY. There are quite a few face scans in both videos as well, from some of the rookies and popular players in the league.

Shoutout to Familyfirst Glo for the videos, who knows how long they will be available.

The body type is (again) too skinny, but that looks exactly like Evan. Of course, the trolls on Twitter don't agree.

I am in complete agree that the game needs refinements to the models and just more body types in general, but people need to remember that on last gen everyone (yes, everyone) shared the same body type.

We definitely need to keep them aware of the issue, yet no one should act astounished or dismayed if it is abundantly clear (by now) the models weren't a priorty.

And the guy who got the game early completely skipped all three Spur rookies (Davis, Murray & Jean - Charles). I going to assume that Bertans and Jean - Charles have crappy "cave men" faces, while Jean - Charles is the lowest rated player on the team.

If you cut the picture off at his knees and pretend his legs are like a foot longer it looks pretty decent. He's got Korean soccer player calves. Smh

He kinda looks like a Gears of Wars character.

He doesn't look that way in footage or in the other player edit screen picture floating around. Therefore I have hope.

Legs, shorts and shoulder width are a disaster...

Am I crazy to think LeBron from 2K14 looked better as far as body type goes?

Nope. Not at all. Pretty sad when you can't get the best player in the league right, but they can get a rookie like Simmons spot on.

If they made the shorts, shorter and took off the sleeves off it might look ok, but the legs look way too short

LMAO

Now, I know not to take any of your critiques seriously after such an absurd statement.

I guess every player has the same arm length (not editable last gen), leg length (not editable last gen) and a "ripped" body type as Corey Maggette?

Sure, that looks more like every NBA player than what we currently have.

My apologizes, I thought you stated that last gen looks better than current gen player models.

I still think we need to see more players and how they look on court to determine which look better. I think they seem similar enough to last year, although the exception being all the players stuck with the "high school" body type. That body type should be reserved for rail thin players like Brandon Ingram or Thon Maker, only.

Durant hasn't been that skinny since at least his second season.

All they have to do is let US edit the body types. Also in 2k14 if anyone remembers it used to be 4 editing types for body parts. When they patched it they took away "leg length" I forget the name of it but you could make a players leg pencil thin. Ah well. I pray someone brings it back. I just go and make the waist super slim on most players so the leg length at least looks a bit pleasing to the eye. Shame

Draymond and Klay are very good players but Kyrie should at least be rated the same as them.

I'm tired of people saying Kyrie had a great series. No, he had a incredible playoff run for being the #2 option. That's 21 playoff games against the best teams, and he played subpar in only 3. All the other games he played very well. 25 PPG, 44% 3pt as a 2nd option.

Then in the finals, his scoring went up against better defense. Not too mention he was the primary defender on Steph. If he was terrible like many claim then Steph's numbers would be better, not worse.
