NBA 2K17 News Post

While these aren't final NBA 2K17 player ratings, as mentioned by Ronnie 2K and LD2K, it definitely gives us a glimpse of what we will see when the game ships. Typically, 2K updates the rosters prior to release. But let's have fun with what we see TODAY. There are quite a few face scans in both videos as well, from some of the rookies and popular players in the league.

Shoutout to Familyfirst Glo for the videos, who knows how long they will be available.

I know he's versatile but that doesn't mean he is just as good as Kyrie Irving, Cousins, PG13, Dame, AD and even Klay who are superstars. IMO, I just think he's overrated.

Draymond is a glorified role player shining in the system he's in.

This is a much better look at his 2k17 player model

That looks much better the other lebron pic shows face discoloration due to the camera.

If anyone needs their rating dropped, it's Klay..

I need to see how 2007 Cavaliers and 2013 Heat LeBron look. If they look any better, and I need to get a good look at young Kobe, since his player model looked different than his young Kobe 2k16 player model in the "Friction" trailer.

I always hate these comments "player x is only good because of the system he plays in."

1. How else should we judge players? We have to base it on how they perform on the team and system they currently play for. We can't assume they would be better or worse elsewhere else.

2. That's sort of how sports work. Sometimes players are lucky enough to play on teams where they thrive while others play for teams where they aren't fully utilized. Take James Harden for exmaple. Solid player on the Thunder but when he went to the Rockets he became a bona-fide superstar, at least in terms of scoring. If he stayed with the Thunder he still could have been a great player but he would have been a great role player/sixth man. Being on a team where he is the star allowed him to full showcase his talents. Chris Bosh found himself in a opposite situation. Allstar/superstar player on the raptors but once he joined up with Lebron and Wade his talents had to take a bit of a back seat in order to compliment Lebron and Wade.

Draymond is a great defensive player but he is no superstar like the rest of these guys.
How would you know this though? Look at Harden when he went from the Thunder to the Rockets. He went from a solid role player to one of the best offensive players in the league. Some players actually perform better when they are in a leading role because they have more freedom to showcase their skills. It's possible that if you put Lillard on a team with more offense weapons his stats take a dip because he doesn't need to carry the load as much.

Also, Harden dropping to 90 is a bit odd, guess they also saw the Harden hate and didn't dare to keep him the same.

Klay and Harden are the two best SG's in the league. Harden definitely can find more ways to score points but is HORRIBLE on defense. Klay's 3pt % and FG % both went up last year and people forget he broke a couple old 3pt records for a season including Curry's...it's just Curry is on another world and broke it again. Then when you look at Klays defense it's solid. So if we're looking at the SG position I can see how they rated him a 90 a long with Harden.

U guys are forgetting that they won 73 games this year and all of them played great. Nobody can discredit the skill of the warriors and all of them deserved their rating. The real issue I have here is with damian Lillard rating, he makes all NBA but still can't be respected by 2k.

I think you are valuing talent over production. Draymond is one of the most productive players in the league because he can help a team out in so many areas. Defense, rebounding, spacing the floor, passing, scoring when needed, etc. He might not be as talented as a Kyrie irving who can dribbling and score nearly at will but green is more productive at more facets of the game.

I think you are getting a bit caught up with the flashier, more athletic players that stand out because of their scoring, dribbling, dunking, etc.
