a video on my race at Spa for Belgium GP. started 17th after badly miss-timing Q1 and getting caught on Intermediate tires when the rain stopped. Went for a 1-stop race and made it work really well. could have hung on for 2nd, but late in the race my Engine start having some issue, and power was down. Sainz caught me and passed me. I finished 3rd. Vettel Won again, pulling away for the Championship. Ferarri has moved to #1 in the R&D right now. Mercedes hasn't been anywhere the last couple of races oddly.

Spoiler

I'll never forget how happy with myself i was after finishing a 100% race there in F1 2010. Felt like I'd just run a marathon and only finished 4th, but was still stoked haha

Hi all:

I am playing 25 percent races in Quick Race on the Xbox One with full flag and Parc Ferme rules, and I'm seeing no option for DRS during qualifying or after lap two in dry conditions of the race. The engineer tells me it's enabled, but there is no on-screen prompt, and hitting the Y button does nothing.

My son has DRS in his Career races.

Does anyone else see this problem? Did I get a badly coded disc? Any workarounds?

Thanks!

Sorry, my lap count was incorrect. I'm right on the tail of the leading car in the zone, after the third lap in the dry, and still getting no DRS. And I'm getting none at any time in dry qualifying.

Gamefly just shipped this out. You fellas have certainly gotten me excited to play this one.

Strange. I doubt it's anything to do with the disc. Just don't see how that's possible.

Also, it's not about how close you are to the car ahead in the DRS zone, I believe there's a spot prior to entering the DRS zone where the timing gap is "checked" that determines if you can enable it once the zone is reached. I could be wrong here though..

Be careful that you aren't trying to activate the DRS system prior to entering the zone. I think the color of the DRS bar changes to green when you have it active. Another way to check, push down on the right stick, it should reverse the camera angle and you should be able to see if the rear wing is opened or not.

Another thing, and I'm not sure this is an issue anymore, but in the past, I remember some teams did not have cars capable of the DRS system. At least then did a few years ago in this game. I don't think that's the case anymore, but just throwing that out there.

If all else fails, and you're worried about the install/disc. Uninstall, reinstall see if that changes. Or try and install with your sons disc and see if that helps. I'd be shocked if that's the issue though, but worth a try I guess.

Not sure about the console version but it is definitely there for the PC. The rule is that you have to be within one second of the car ahead to enable in the zones.

Just finished the first race of my career. What a glorious disaster. You know this is honestly the first time in a sports title I have actually really felt like a rookie in a "franchise " mode.

I am really falling hard into this game. Just finished open practice 1 at Bahrain and set all purple on the acclimation test.
Hopefully I will continue to tear this track up.

Are you using cockpit view? If so, the only on screen prompt you will see is on the steering wheel itself, and it varies depending on which team you are driving for. For most, it is shown as 2 green lights on the far left of the shift indicator lights when DRS is available

had probably the best comeback I've ever had in a racing game in the Singapore GP.

Qualified pretty good in 7th, just ahead of my teammate Grojean in 9th.
race started in full wet condition, eliminated my strategy I had in Q2 to use Supersofts instead of UltraSofts.

got a decent start, but halfway through the first lap, got in a battle with Hamilton and I had to run off into one of the run off lanes to avoide crashing into the wall. had to reverse and turn around. needless to say, I was in 22nd in full wet conditions.

easily passed the back markers of Sauber and Renault(only teama in my career to not have any points at all). got up to 19th by lap 7. at lap 7, everyone went into the pits for Intermediate tires. I ended up coming out in 12 due to teams double stacking the pit. luckily for me Grojean was long gone from the pit box by the time I got there.

I was really quick in the intermediate tires, got up to 6th place, but about 4 seconds behind Grojean by lap 14. the rain was stopping and right before I passed the pit, my crew let me know that it was time to change tires.I was the first to pit, everyone behind me followed.

This allowed me to gain some time and ended up ahead of Grojean after he pitted the next lap. I pushed to try and catch up with Hamilton, but we were running about the same pace. Kimi had an issue, I closed from 13 seconds to 2.3 second beforre whatever his issue was went away. he started to pull away, but there was a crash and a safety car went out.

based on the pit delta, I knew i would come out of the pits no worse than 7th, so I pitted, took on Supersofts(everyone at the time was on soft to the end). after the fact, I should have put on Ultrasofts, but after the restart, I went from 7th, to 5th by the 2nd corner. caught Kimi and Hamilton before the end of the lap and got by them to get to 3rd.

the last 3 laps had me pushing, making fast lap after fast lap to try and catch Rosburg, got by him in Turn 1 on the last lap, just needed 1 more lap to get Vettel. Grojean finished 4th as he got by Hamilton on the last lap.

4th podium in a row, still missing the win. actually moved to 3rd in points over Rosberg and Kimi

Well, I just dropped full price on a Formula One game for the first time in my life. It's also the first F1 game I've played in fifteen years.

I hope I don't end up regretting this!

It's worth every penny this year.

Agreed. It's a fantastic game. This is coming from someone who doesn't really follow the sport either. Like, I have a clue, I watch parts of races here and there, but I'm not a hardcore fan, but I know enough to get by and know what I'm doing. However, that being said, this is just a fun, fun racing game. It plays good, looks great, It's just a blast. The changing grip and performance levels amongst team cars that you can feel, is awesome. Loss of grip getting outside of the racing line in turns... awesome. Grip changes if you get the tires dirty... awesome. Rain racing visuals, and handling changes... awesome. It's just... so well done.

Ok man I am tearing up Bahrain. Finished Practice 2 with all purple in Tire Test and Qualifying Practice!

Somehow right at the end of lap 1 in Qualifying Practice I just found a groove that worked so well. I ended up posting the fastest lap of the session and had a pole time until I got popped into second. I am racing for Sauber at Medium with a controller and all aid off except TC at the lowest setting and I ran a 1:39.4 on super soft tires. Man it was so beautiful when it all clicked like that. As much as I struggled last race, I am not struggling at the moment.

Man I love this game.

I was do proud to have Q 4th for Monaco, and worked my way to second on lap 17 of 39. Playing 50% races. Hurricane Hermine is pushing through NC coast and at lap 19, the power goes out. 😭😭 Now I will have to star over. Monaco is such a cruel design. I was just starting to get comfortable around the track and "poof", out go the lights. SmH.

Hey guys quick little survey here.

Since F1 now has an extended career mode, would you all like a stickied career mode thread where we could post stats, thoughts and our individual results of our careers?

If so just post a "like" on this post and I will get one up if enough people are interested.

So, I've been addicted to the game since I got my hands on it yesterday.

I was AWFUL for the first few hours. Finally, I got to a point where I felt I had enough skill to maneuver the track successfully (No assists aside from full traction control).

In career, I picked Renault. Went through all the practices, destroying my tires in the process. I still haven't got the hang of delicate cornering! Qualified in 6th for the Australia GP in heavy rain. Good start.

The rain clears up for raceday, and I go with two stops for my race strategy due to my nature of ripping up my tires. First pit stop - I drop from 7th to 20th. I make up the places back to 9th, but then my next pit stop puts me back in 21st. AND, I get a speeding penalty for entering the pits too fast.

Then, my entire race falls apart. I come out the pits and collide with Ricciardo, damaging my front wing. I'm told that I need to re-enter the pits, change my strategy AND serve my 3-second penalty.

I'm in 20th, and I enter the pits, presumably to sort out my front wing. No - this is just to serve that damn penalty. So, now I'm 22nd, and not even close to the pack. To make it worse, I need to re-enter the pits on the next lap to finally sort out my front wing.

Ultimately, I finish in 21st (Raikonnen crashed out), way behind the pack. My racing skills are definitely much improved, but it's all the extra management stuff that's holding me back. I'm still really enjoying trying to get my head around the strategy side of things, though. I didn't actually feel too angry or aggrieved at finishing where I did - I just wanted to learn from those mistakes.

This game is damn good. I spent the best part of two/three hours yesterday doing practice runs on one track without even getting remotely bored. As someone who suffers with a short attention span, that's really weird for me.

Finished 5th at Monaco. Made it up to second, one stop strategy, came out 8th and climbed to 5th. That finish felt better than any win on any track on any other racing game. Monaco is SO brutal. You have to be so precise on every corner, and even down the strait aways because it's so narrow. Passing is almost impossible. I had so much fun, but I was worn out by the time my 39 laps (50%)were complete. It was a nice accomplishment to see my improvement from practice session 1 where I couldn't break the top 15, to qualifying and finishing strong. Hamilton finished about 49 seconds ahead for the win, but I was just ecstatic to finish at all. This game is SO good.
