EA Sports UFC 2 News Post

Geoff Harrower, A.K.A. GameplayDevUFC, has been posting quite a few details on the upcoming EA Sports UFC 2 patch on his Twitter page. While no date for the patch has been revealed, he has posted quite a few nuggets. Check out some of them below and let us know what you think!
  • Added the ability to block when in any level of hit reaction to the legs or body. This should fix the "magic combo" issues.
  • Tuned AI transition denial success rate to be more dependent on grapple advantage
  • Increased stand up arm health damage taken when holding High Block by 20%
  • Reduced stand up arm health recovery when holding High Block by 20%
  • Fixed exploit that allowed fighters to hold their opponent in side saddle with little opportunity for escape
  • Added Grapple Advantage Meter which allows users to better understand grappling mechanics and timing
  • Improved AI takedown defense
  • Further AI stamina management tuning
  • Taunt with @BlessedMMA in the last 20 seconds of the round and have your opponent taunt back to end a round "The Holloway"

If that comes into play in the decisions then yea I can see how that would be an issue :/ i think it will be good for informative purposes though

Some will be able to probably. Watch this video to get an idea.

Any tweaking of the judging criteria in this new patch? Since Octagon control moronicly scores higher than total shots landed, damage and sig strikes...

FYI, thats not they way the devs described it to me a few weeks ago. Damage and effective striking rate higher than octagon control. Now effective striking doesnt necessarily mean more sig strikes than another.

For example, I could land 14/30 and you land 18/70 sig strikes. You may have landed more sig strikes but I was more effective than you based on my striking percentage.

Octagon control and aggression does matter (maybe a little too much) but according to the devs its lower on the totem pole than striking.

If EA wants ideas for better tutorial I have a tun of them that just involves tweaks to practice mode along with some new audio instructions.
ksearyback had a really good post on improvements to tutorial and practice mode. Changes to this require time and resources for EA, of course. I know it can't be overhauled completely, but perhaps some of their suggestions could be added easily.

I love this game, but so much of it is hidden (or difficult to practice without a friend).

When's the actual patch dropping?

Taunt with @BlessedMMA in the last 20 seconds of the round and have your opponent taunt back to end a round "The Holloway" #patchspoilers

Dissapointed it cant be with anyone but this does create individuality.

Thats cool. So for this to work I have to taunt in the last 20secs of a round and my oppenent has to taunt me back. Is this right how I explained it?

He was also the only fighter who specifically asked for it to be added to the game, so seems fair enough.

Correct.

Taunt with Holloway in the last 20 secs of the round (he'll point to the ground, so it's obvious that it's happened). If your opponent taunts back you enter into a state for the remainder of the round where takedowns are disabled, clinch is disable, stamina drain is disabled and counter damage bonus is on for every strike.

Oh, and your backwards movement speed is cut in half.

Basically you are agreeing to stand and bang, and the game enforces that agreement.

lol.

That's pretty cool. Maybe more user will play with him now. I would love to see a video clip of this when the patch drops. Someone please post videos of your fights if you use Max Holloway.

I doubt you can answer this GPD, but did Valentina Shevchenko get a stats boost after her great counter striking performance over Holy Holm.?
