2K Sports just posted a brand new NBA 2K17 trailer celebrating the Dream Team complete with current and legacy players. The trailer is 1:36 and is set to the "Star Spangled Banner" -- and might we say quite timely with the Olympics ongoing.
Quote:
As previously announced, both teams will be featured in the next iteration of the top-rated and top-selling NBA video game simulation series*, in addition to renowned Duke University and USA Basketball coach, Mike Krzyzewski, who is making his debut in the NBA 2K series. Fans who pre-order NBA 2K17 will receive the legendary 1992 USA Basketball “Dream Team”, along with a special USA Basketball MyTEAM card and MyPLAYER jersey to fully customize their USA Basketball experience.
Comprised of NBA Hall of Famers, including Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Clyde Drexler, Karl Malone and David Robinson, the 1992 “Dream Team” is universally considered one of, if not the greatest, team ever assembled in basketball history. The 2016 USA Basketball team includes NBA 2K17 cover athlete Paul George and Team 2K athletes Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler, and Kyrie Irving.
most player models clearly look improved from 16, incl. Bird and MJ IMO, there is no denying.
the complexion and skin tones of specific players is what needed major tweaking and we're not going to be able to make a final judgment until we see the likes of Olajuwon, Chamberlain and Bill Russell, if they no longer look like they have 3rd degree burns it'd be a great step forward for 2K.
it also wouldn't hurt to no longer have melting Shaq for every iteration of himself including Orlando and Los Angeles while in his prime, maybe they'll even correct droopy Sophomore T-Mac.
This is how I look at it: The below is a screenshot of the game I had the most fun on (that or MVP 2005).
Obviously expectation should be for improvement, but my point is if I can have fun on a game that looks like that I can ignore bulky jerseys or incorrect accessories.
Sorry to take this thread further off topic but is that 2k3? Because that game solidified my love for the 2k series. And ironically the Mavericks was my team in that game. Nowintszki, nash, and Finley! That trio was my crew back then. I still look back on that game with fond memories.
Now I feel guilty for derailing the thread a bit.
On the topic of player models and graphics what do people think so far. Durant definitely looks improved but does anyone notice any other changes with other players? Players skin looks a bit more fleshy to me because they don't seem to have that shine quite like last year (at least in those two Durant comparison pics). How about lighting? Last year was a vast improvement from 2k15, anyone notice changes/improvements here?

2k2 was great as well. First time the series released on ps2. That was a definitely a game changer for me since I the only NBA games I played until the point, in terms of sims, were Live and Shootout.
First impressions says the skin body types and lighting has undergone major improvements......which if accurate would be a very welcomed improvements for a visual guy like me
But even at that am waiting to hear or see improvements of the gameplay alterations or improvements
Might be strange to hear this being said...but am waiting for those shaky gamescom phone camera videos
Players looked really good imo, as Ive always felt some of the classic players in years past has been a little rough, so hopfully they did some fixing this year in that area, as I do enjoy playing the classic teams. What I really hope is the fake players are fully editable this year finally, so you dont have to create a whole new player, you can just edit the fake player fully.
