NBA 2K17 News Post

2K Sports just posted a brand new NBA 2K17 trailer celebrating the Dream Team complete with current and legacy players. The trailer is 1:36 and is set to the "Star Spangled Banner" -- and might we say quite timely with the Olympics ongoing.

Quote:
As previously announced, both teams will be featured in the next iteration of the top-rated and top-selling NBA video game simulation series*, in addition to renowned Duke University and USA Basketball coach, Mike Krzyzewski, who is making his debut in the NBA 2K series. Fans who pre-order NBA 2K17 will receive the legendary 1992 USA Basketball “Dream Team”, along with a special USA Basketball MyTEAM card and MyPLAYER jersey to fully customize their USA Basketball experience.

Comprised of NBA Hall of Famers, including Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Clyde Drexler, Karl Malone and David Robinson, the 1992 “Dream Team” is universally considered one of, if not the greatest, team ever assembled in basketball history. The 2016 USA Basketball team includes NBA 2K17 cover athlete Paul George and Team 2K athletes Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Jimmy Butler, and Kyrie Irving.

Give it a watch and let us know what you think!

Nice looking hair for Jimmy

Yeah Durant looks skinny and all but it would be a waste if his legs aren't. He would just look odd if he has normal looking sized calves...

Quick reactions:

Coach K!

Body types look better.

Crowd seems more diverse than usual.

Ewing's face doesn't seem to move.

Why isn't Charles Barkley getting up in Draymond's face for all that celebrating?

MJ seems ... eh.

David Robinson salute's FTW.

Overall, nice to get a trailer ... but there's little of substance here, really. No gameplay vid, which is disappointing. At this rate, I'm feeling like 2K isn't going to give us gameplay information until AFTER the Olympics are over -- once that bit of basketball business is done, I think 2K will flood us with information.

I wish 2k would just be a lot more arrogant and just operate like they're at the top of the mountain and there's nothing that anybody could do about it. I like this trailer would have loved it just before the Olympics started. I would have crapped my pants over this a week ago. I feel like they could've and should've shown their gameplay off by now. They have nothing to worry about as far as competition, I've seen the new madden, FIFA (which has s strong competitor) and nhl, but not 2k which is 40 or so days away. C'mon 2k!

That's my somewhat immature self speaking, from a business sense I don't think it hurts them from not showing the gameplay. They've been doing this the last few years and sales are improving, but I don't think the sales would be harmed if they showed the gameplay a tad earlier than they have. Just my opinion.

I was going to say, while MJ doesn't look great he looks a lot better in motion than that Dream Team screenshot that was shared.

Just a few things I noticed (not already mentioned). And of course this is just judging off of this trailer.

As someone who edits, THOSE NECKS!!! It was annoying to look at dudes heads stuck in their shoulders

Skin tones look better. Draymond and HB looked their correct tone of black/brown (however you wanna look at it lol).
Also PG looked darker than his 2K16 counterpart as he should.

I wonder how much these teams will be used after the month of November

This would have hit so much harder for me if it was literally our first introduction to the USA teams being in the game with the pics being released already I'm kind of over the whole USA basketball feature.

But on a good note the bodies and lighting seems to look better so that's a plus.

Well that trailer was underwhelming.

I knew we'd get something this week even if this is just a trailer. Things look good from skin tones to lighting to facial hair, etc. etc. but I still wanna see things in game so I won't take too much out of this. Things look nice.

Sidenote: I really would love for Jimmy Buckets hair to be for myplayers also. He's the reason I grew my hair in the first place it'd be nice to be able to get that style.
