You guys are right, Madden is broken and can never be fixed. You should go check out other forums now. I'd recommend the Other non-sports game forum :P

Anyway, a little more back on topic. I guess I'll be keeping my eyes peeled during the trailer for any improvements in the line play. Hopefully we see an o'lineman turn completely around to give chase to the man who got through.

I'm just glad we don't have to go through that long and drawn out cover vote. Also glad that we'll be getting a trailer with the reveal.

I hope it's more of a sizzle real than a teaser trailer just showing off the cover boy. Atleast giving us a hint to what the gameplay focus could be this year. We'll see though. It'd be nice to get the attention all over the field instead of just one specific feature.

Curse aside I hope to see Cam Newton on the cover. MVP and a big madden fan himself. Makes sense to me. Panthers never had a cover either.

I know Rex said in an interview last year that animation quality was his number one priority and we can all take that with a grain of salt but I wonder if this could be a year similar to the Infinity Engine where there is no singular gameplay focus and the trailer just shows off some new animations. Something like the Infinity trailer with the tackles or last year with the catches. I highly doubt it will be something that significant but with as good as a lot of the animations they added last year looked, especially compared to the older ones, it makes me wonder if it's maybe something they had used last year and could expand upon all over the field this year.

Someone tweeted this out a little bit ago. Could be nothing, could be something. Highly doubt it's the cover being as it is the exact same image they used for Gronk last year.

Spoiler

That honestly would take the game to another level for me. Just to finally get rid of the goofy bad last gen stuff. To have the game finally look the part in motion.

Could you imagine signature animations outside of QB releases and celebrations, I really cant wait until EA finally does some outside the box thinking when it comes to Madden, they have so much they can do if they just be more creative.

In Madden pressure equals free run towards the Qb every single time, when it reality that's not the case, in a real football game defensive linemen push offensive linemen towards the Qb creating pressure, if their is a sack its usually not a free run, the offensive linemen are usually in the back field near where the sack happens because even after they get beat they still attempt to block, push, block in the back, or even hold to protect their Qb from getting lit up, unlike in Madden the offensive linemen are often near the los when a sack happens because they just give up after they are beat with no pursue. This in the number thing I will be looking to see if they addressed in Madden 17.
I was addressing OL missing assignments, like looking dazed and confused.

If the coding is changed, you might be in luck.

I just think the old coding would need to be ripped out and replaced with new coding for what most of us are looking for and I'm not sure that will happen during a one year cycle.

I've heard it's a real long time consuming project from a past developer.

So i keep hearing people saying Cam should be the cover athlete. Which to me is just wrong in itself because a sore loser dont deserve to be on a cover to me.If you picking a QB, easy , should be Manning.

That said , although i know it never would be, the cover , if it has Cam should really look like this :

I don't disagree, it's all about priority, timing and resources for those working on the game.

Yep that was my thinking as well. It would make so much sense that they were working on a new type of engine or whatever to finally release once realized. If I don't see it in the new trailer though, I won't be too dissapointed. With what they have now, they have been working pretty hard to give us the best Madden experience they can and I expect no less in Madden 17. The apparent focus of CFM has little to even do with their current engine and coding. If we get big improvement in that area and clean up some of the other areas, I would be estatic. Can't wait to see a glimpse of what's in store with the trailer release.

Ok, so unless im missing something , i think this statement is wrong. I thought the Ignite Engine came out first in 2013? http://www.easports.com/ignite

Not only that , but lets take a good look at that page.

-Human Intelligence ..... Still have not seen this

-True Player Motion - From deft movements to crunching tackles(Really? where?)
True Player Motion delivers revolutionary biomechanical physics, authentically recreating the dynamic movement and physicality of actual athletes. - Still waiting to see this also

-Living Worlds... dont even get me started .

So really, its only been in the last 3 or 4 maddens tops.So maybe/hopefully they still figuring out how to add in all the stuff it claims it can do.... crossing my fingers. That engine isnt that old, and if we gotta do a new one every 3 years, well we will never get anywhere it seems.Always starting over and redoing and undoing and fixing ...

I can't speak for him but I'll speak for myself. It's more of a problem with them still using old code and building the ignite engine on top of it. I think the ignite engine should come to an end within the next few years if they can't fulfill all their promises because of the old code restricting their current engine. Now I'm not sure if rewriting the code and keeping the current engine is something they had in mind. I personally am hoping they decide to scrap both.

In a statement released by EA exec Andrew wilson, he said it took about 3 years of development of the ignite engine before it was finally released. So this supports some peoples theory that EA might be working on something for the future of Madden in the background if they can't turn their current engine around.

"Our development studios at EA Canada and EA Tiburon have been working on the engine’s components for a few years. It’s the first time that we have brought all of our best tech together in this way, and our games will be better for it – we truly have some great things planned."

Edit: you did remind me however that the current engine is not that old and possibly hasn't even been fully realized. If it is was I believe to be, old code holding it back, it opens the door for us to receive a fix in coding and much improved gameplay. I have no idea how long rewriting code for the game might take and I have no idea if the ignite engine is even compatible with new code.

I mean for me it's not even about them thinking outside of the box and being creative, it's just deciding to emulate and replicate without taking any shorts. To go deeper into simulating NFL football and not trying to remind us it's a videogame.

Let's get this thread back on topic.

Can we not have a thread derailed with the same conversations with the same people?

It's getting quite old.

I'm very excited!! Madden 16 was ice cold in my opinion (few things to improve on, but not like a few years ago) 17 is about to be amazing, I can sense it coming.

Why wouldn't they seem confident? I doubt they think the game they're working on is gonna suck.

And about that tag line.

Spoiler
