NBA 2K16 News Post

As mentioned earlier today, the NBA 2K16 patch #6 has already arrived for PlayStation 4 users, weighing in at 2.4GB. As soon as we get the patch notes, we will update this post. Until then, let us know what you are seeing.

Xbox One users will see the patch later, no official ETA has been given.

UPDATE: Here are the patch notes.
  • Updated player portraits for a number of players.
  • Tuned the effectiveness of long outlet passes for players with the Break Starter badge.
  • Delay branching from Kobe Bryant Back size-up.
  • Re-worked size-up dribble launches to prevent unnaturally explosive first steps.
  • Tune miss chances for deep downcourt and cherry picking.
  • Dock vertical and rebounding when you go behind the basket. Don’t reset 3-in-the-key offense timer in baseline behind paint for human controlled blacktop players.
UPDATE #2: The patch has arrived for Xbox One users.

UPDATE #3 (5-19): The patch is now available for PC users.

I can kind of see what you guys were saying about lack of explosiveness .

Once I do get a step on a guy I'm having trouble attacking the basket like I want too.its like I don't have take off power . Still im liking the update

It's tough, if you are really comfortable with how the game plays pre patch, I would chill on it....but you really wont get a grasp on it until you play....to see players speed relative to everyone else. Videos wont really tell the story on what you can do, or how it feels.

Man I disagree. There is minimal difference to me between my 6'2 PG and my 6'7 PG. Both seem to be running in cement. I expected my 6'2 to be a little faster but I still prefer my taller guard since the patch hit. abuC only scrubs used Hesi 3 pre patch man. Hesitation 4 was the GOAT. I think Hesi 3 is the better option now though. We'll see what trends over the next few weeks once everybody gets that update.

No problem. I've heard a lot of different opinions on it. I'm a center in Pro Am and Park....so maybe it’s something I can’t grasp in those particular modes. I also don't use a lot of hesi's to get by guys...I branch size ups, do a lot of quick momentum crosses, behind the backs. Its just not something I personally have had trouble with...I've been able to punish off ballers in PNO pretty consistently too.

All you ISO masters who suddenly can't beat anyone because they nerfed hesitation moves really just shows that either: hesitations were seriously overpowered, other moves need to be made better, or you aren't really as good as you think you are.

I am honestly not having any more trouble than I ever was. That said, I never really relied on stringing a bunch of moves together to create offense.

Yay I wondered what the update was. Gonna play a MyTeam game for the first time in months to see how it goes.

People won't keep in mind though, this thread filled with these so called fake sim players so to them they happy Iso Is destroyed, and by Iso I mean the explosive step when driving from a crossover, not some cheese you think some park player complaining about. I mostly played my team, and now I have low level centers being able to stay with my elite PG because I no longer have an explosive drive after a cross or size up or anything for that matter. But this talk I'm saying pointless because those who strung up and happy out they mind never was good at the game to begin with so Iso didn't mean much to them from the start, same dudes who play in leagues who tell you you're only allowed to shoot only mid range, and if you don't let the defense get back to set up you're a cheeser.

I'll stay sleep, 2k fix a problem that never was an issue because some stupid park and ruined it for people who don't even play the damn park so that fix carried over to other modes. Now ever guard dribble like a damn center and feel like I'm running in cement, getting magic bump by any player even centers with the lowest lateral quickness in the game.

I have the patch for Xbox one and I am not seeing anything different so far. I only play off-line so that could be why.

If you are trying to beat slower defensive players with the right stick, you aren't playing the game right.

Just run around them my dude.

For the people who have actually played post patch, care to provide a example of being unable to bypass anyone? Just curious to see....

LOL. Sometimes you can do that but you just can't run past even bigs like its nothing. Speaking from park and HOF difficulty. They'll D you up just as much as quicker players.

It's no point talking to these dudes, they clearly don't play this game enough of even know the problem at hand...... Some fool said just run around them*Stone face*, good luck with that, when they got that vacuum into body contact this game used to make the defense seems better.

Yeah yeah. Use the "Just don't know basketball" line lol. Tell me how this video isn't a good representation of am explosive first step and how is it unrealistic. And compare it to the video 24 posted and to the real actual video of Westbrook exploding and tell me which one is more realistic lol.

Keep in mind also this is a computer player. And not every CPU player does this. It's usually players like Kyrie, Russ, Wall and few others that actually do this ingame.

As an Offline gamer I've found no differences post patch. The Speed Boost effect it seems is aimed at the Online community. One of the reasons I don't play Online is due to the fact that, despite the efforts of the developers, certain gamers will always find exploits. 2K are attempting to counteract it but are likely fighting a losing battle, as the theme of the thread indicates.

Fredo still a finesse king out there so I'm straight.. this vid alone gives me hope the strong will remain strong so long as they can adjust to the new conditions...

https://youtu.be/sM2HtJUYTXg

If you know your game well you should be straight.. doesn't change the reality of the new gameplay experience... winning and dominating is fine but I'm still gonna have gripes with gameplay... I rather compete within an environment I consider fun and entertaining and more conducive to creating parity than to be working with the pace of a granny in a walker..

Sure taking out OP agressive launches that can be spammed in and out will easily tighten the parity but answering one extreme with another extreme is not a solid solution

BTW the video has sensitive cuss words so if you're sensitive to cussing: you been warned.. it's a motivational video for a park guy like me who doesn't want to see finesse kings expire over a patch... I want competition and I don't want it in a basic dull boring form.. I want to be challenged on defense by some trick moves.. that's what the park platform is for..
