NBA 2K16 News Post

As mentioned earlier today, the NBA 2K16 patch #6 has already arrived for PlayStation 4 users, weighing in at 2.4GB. As soon as we get the patch notes, we will update this post. Until then, let us know what you are seeing.

Xbox One users will see the patch later, no official ETA has been given.

UPDATE: Here are the patch notes.
  • Updated player portraits for a number of players.
  • Tuned the effectiveness of long outlet passes for players with the Break Starter badge.
  • Delay branching from Kobe Bryant Back size-up.
  • Re-worked size-up dribble launches to prevent unnaturally explosive first steps.
  • Tune miss chances for deep downcourt and cherry picking.
  • Dock vertical and rebounding when you go behind the basket. Don’t reset 3-in-the-key offense timer in baseline behind paint for human controlled blacktop players.
UPDATE #2: The patch has arrived for Xbox One users.

UPDATE #3 (5-19): The patch is now available for PC users.

And he did it once there, players were doing the little step backs like 5-10x to beat their man with it.

No. A lot of these players can explode like this. More times though in real life the player either rides them or have help right there.

I understand that. But the speed boosting was things like Jordan size up back and forth and a few others. What Russ did isn't hard to defend, it could just surprise you lol. That's why I said it could've been handled another way than most likely just being taken out period. Even disabling it after one use a possession would've been better than completely taking it out lol. It's honestly one of the best looking animations of a player exploding, slightly lowering their shoulder and being aggressive to me.

I don't know if it's the same exact move, but I think i did something similar with WB....

This was the reason I stopped playing my park. I was nasty downlow when I got the ball. But no one would pass it too me lol

It's funny watching kids play now. It feels like actual basketball. The "All ISO" style squads live or die by the ability of the solo player, the "Defense/Fundamentals" squads just flat out have more options.

I'very been debating on making a thread about winning without boosting, that would've outlined basic concepts like mind games, meta, bluffing, reading and reacting.....but I'm going to sit on that for a bit now. The guys who know how to ball are murdering people, the cheesers are failing. All is well

If you're referring to me 24, no, it's not the same animation. Yes you can say it's similar though. But if you go back and watch the vid I posted, it's different. It's a lot faster and more aggressive. From your vid it's just kind of a basic drive to the rim like on a fast break. Notice in my vid the explosion out the move and how he lowers his shoulders a little more. Always thought it was a nice animation.

I'd be more worried about them finding something new that we might add to the next game than that. I have a gallon jug next to my desk to collect all the tears from this patch...

I use to complain about this in my league. There was a user that did this all the time.

I figured this meant like players that had portraits but w/ previous teams jersey. Players like Roy Hibbert had his Pacers jersey instead of the Lakers and etc.

The only people who have a problem with patch 6 are the cheesers (90% of sunset). I expect to see more big men in MyPark because a lot of these speed boosters are gonna get exposed. The 2k17 leader boards are gonna look completely different since ALL of them do it lol. Enjoy it while you can 😂😂😂

# 196 Rockie_Fresh88 @ 05/04/16 07:56 PM
Played with my guard first time in the update .

Yeah I noticed its a lot harder to get past your man. Not even speed boosting just dribbling .But I like it a lot. IQ matters

# 197 MrBallaBoy21 @ 05/04/16 08:17 PM
This just goes to show that if you make the offense move at the same speed as the defense game balance increases greatly. I hope this catches on. It's so funny to see the cheesers crying because they have to actually beat their man realistically.

If the dribbling was like this out of the box they wouldn't have needed the suction cup on ball defense animations(that would be blocking fouls irl).

I can't help but feel that 2k is gonna renege because of the crying tho, but so far great job devs

Word.

This just made my day, Czar. It's comforting to know you guys listen, and want a sim game despite what it seems like the majority of the scrubs want

Plays great but please fix recovery speed on defense.
