I just want the game to be fun again. If you want "sim" go play real baseball.

I hope they archive and save to youtube, because twitch only archives for 2 weeks, YouTube is forever.

I keep seeing people say they look forward to the umpire personality traits, but i could've sworn these were already said to be in the game last year?

And it didn't really work all that well, the strike zone felt different from pitch to pitch.

Is it just improved this year? Because i don't think it's brand new.

Nothing wrong with wanting "sim", The game is considered a baseball sim after all. But Sony also needs to strike a balance with customers. And the wide range of options in the game does that. We just need to see more about RTTS to judge whether the options are sufficient for all types of players.

And especially in regards to hitting, we all know somebody who really does prefer that arcade style over sim, and wants to bat .450 with 85 home runs with their RttS player. The perks and ShowTime may assist them in getting the game play experience they want.

And considering we haven't even seen it live yet, who knows? Even us sim-heads here on OS may still appreciate the Perks and ShowTime? Maybe they would be more fun to use than we think?
At first glance, you may think ShowTime is a bit gimmicky/arcade, but it actually adds to the experience (especially RTTS) IMO. It wasn't overdone in anyway.

Does anybody remember fun?

I also forgot to mention I am stoked to see the Umpire traits. I love knowing my umpire crews and adjusting to "their" strike zones. I hope this goes deeper and I think it will as it will be a featured stream!
Exactly. This is what I was trying to say a couple of pages ago. I'm big on realism and "sim" baseball but to me RTTS is the exception to the rule. Like you, I view it as more of a fantasy mode. I don't even touch sliders in RTTS, I just have fun. Showtime fits perfectly and seems to be well executed.

You're thinking of variable strike zones? Yes those were in a couple years ago but I don't think that is what they mean here? I have the same info as you and I could be wrong... but when I read "umpire personality traits" I don't think of anything to do with strike zones, I more imagine small variances in animations, some making calls more enthusiastically than others, etc...

But we shall see!

I hope many changes will find their way into regular season mode..which is all I ever play..ever...I've tried RTTS, but cannot get into it...The showtime feature feels like a crutch for those who are new to baseball or have never played a video game baseball game..

Anyone know or is allowed to comment on whether the "old" analog hitting is available again?

Oh man, I hope there's an over-the-top Ron Luciano personality trait type ump, or at least plans for one in the future.

Man, so pumped about all the facts coming out about this game.

We've got the ******, *******, ****, ***** ***** ****, ********, _________________________, and _________________ ***** __________ to look forward to. OH and how could I forget the *********** ******* *** ***** ******???

I think what they're trying to say is that there'll be a Morse Code or decryption mode in MLB '16.

I'll be frank, the whole perks and showtime stuff seems insanely arcadey, and I'd rather not bother with it. Hopefully the game leaves such things to be completely optional and isn't balanced around it whatsoever. Even so it's kind of annoying to constantly have a "showtime" prompt on the screen if I have no intention of using it.

I sucked at "fill in the blank" tests in school. C'mon Professor Russell, offer us a multiple choice test!

A lot of goodies. Still not too pleased that we might see the same weird hair and faces porting over. I mean, yeah, some people will continue their RTTS via the import system, which is great and all. So they have to retain assets. But is there any way we can get some new face templates in? Or a greater selection of hair styles? Cornrows have been a flat texture that doesn't even extend past the nape of the neck for ages now.

I can hook up CAPs with real nice gear, but can never really make people look all that different...

Oh well. Really liking the details being added in like umpire jackets and I'm eager to see the new brands for gear and such.
