NBA 2K16 News Post


NBA 2K16 patch #4 is available for PlayStation 4, weighing in at 2.4GB. The same patch is scheduled to be released for PC and Xbox One very soon. Once they release, we will update this post.

UPDATE: Patch #4 is available for PC and Xbox One now.

GENERAL
  • Addressed a hang that can occur when editing/applying tattoos in Edit Player.
  • Resolved a bug where one or more users in a co-op game would lose control of their player at some point during the game.
  • Fixed a disconnect issue that some users were seeing during online games.
  • (PC) Fixed a corruption issue where some users were experiencing hangs, missing art assets, and infinite loads. Please ensure that your virus scanning software (e.g. Avast) whitelists your Steam folder/directory. This is required for new content to properly download and install.
  • Closed a loophole where the pause timer would stop counting down when sitting in the ‘Report Image’ flow.
  • Improved the user interface when applying contracts to players in MyTEAM by removing the display of how many contracts the player would have IF the current card was applied.
  • Fixed a case where the user accepting an online invite would sometimes skip the position selection screen in the way into matchmaking.
  • Headwear should now properly unequip when attempting to do so from within the MyPARK Apparel section of the store.
  • The player portrait will now update when a new user is signed in on the main menu via the account picker.
  • A number of other optimizations and enhancements have been made to improve the user experience.
GAMEPLAY
  • Teammate free throw celebration/interaction behaviors have been corrected.
  • Slightly tuned down the frequency of ball collisions.
  • Fixed an issue that led to a temporary loss of user control on possession changes while in the 2K Cam.
  • Tuned down the frequency of missed alley-oop and putback dunks when open.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed high rated post players to shoot post fadeaway 3's at a high percentage.
MyCAREER/MyPARK/MyCOURT
  • Fixed a rare issue where the game would hang when Doris Burke interviews your MyPLAYER at the end of the first half and/or at the end of the game.
  • The correct records and rep levels will now be shown for the players on the MyPARK loading screen.
  • Corrected the wall and floor art for the San Antonio Spurs theme in MyCOURT.
  • Fixed a case where some purchased shoes were not properly appearing on the shoe racks in MyCOURT.
MyGM/MyLEAGUE
  • Resolved a hang that could occur many, many years into MyGM when entering the offseason.
  • Generated players will now wear the correct color socks for away games.
  • Fixed an issue where generated players were getting their free throw animations randomized every offseason.
  • The Strengths/Weaknesses screen in Team Comparison should now be functioning properly once again.
NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves (unless specifically noted otherwise).

Just had a pro am game as a team and the CPU on our team had 8 steals all we had to do was cherry pick all game lol

since patch 4, i felt the fast breaks were toned down. I notice the CPU teammate would slow down and stopped at the 3 pt line and if not, the CPU opponent will foul you.

they dont happen all the time but it happens.

This is what I see when teams try to fastbreak on me. It could be the Pacers, but fastbreaks are genuinely not a problem for me. In reality, I'm probably a fastbreak problem when I run fastbreaks with George Hill, Monta Ellis, and Paul George. Their badges alone make them a headache for anyone.

I am with 24th Letter. I am playing straight up on SS/Sim. Everything on Auto. Defense Assist and Box Out Assist on 0 and everything Manual for controller settings.

I usually take control of the farthest defensive guy back and guard that paint. Usually works well

Someone explain this to me. I easily made FT's with Dwight all game but miss 2 cluch FT's with Harden. This game was just total BS all the way through. I was up the whole game then this happens. http://youtu.be/I1DWHww24zA

You choked at the line, but that's not the game's fault. That was totally on you.

Beyond that, your opponent was getting calls, and you wasn't. However, I think you fell into the trap of attacking the paint too much, because you wanted to score on layups to maintain your lead. You was playing not to lose instead of playing to win.

I choked..? So I guess Dwight has a better FT shooting percentage than James Harden. Don't give me that BS. Even bad shooters don't miss with the shot meter that close to perfect. Nothing to do with choking. I've made FT's with the shot meter nowhere near perfect but to not even get a roll in or 1 or 2 is beyond me.

Let me show the other half of the video where I grabbed like 6 straight offensive rebounds but couldn't make any damn open shots.

Your always trying to have some logical excuse. I posted the video on Twitter and people clearly see that something didn't want me to make those FT's.


Does anyone else see any reason I missed those 2 FT's with Harden?

Hold RB to bring up the icon switch then press LB to switch to the man closest to the basket. That's usually the guy who the CPU forces to sit in the middle of the paint on fastbreak and who usually throws off the transition defense. When you're controlling him the other CPU defenders tend to guard the other players in transition properly.

I've had great success doing this and it's toned down the transition issues for me greatly.

Didn't you watch the video? Dwight shoots about 50% or less and I'm sure Harden shoots above 75% (actual number is 87%)

Dwight's FT wasn't a perfect release but swishes in all net. If anyone should miss it should be him. Harden's FT's were slightly early but the majority of makes online at the line are slightly early.

My point is this... Learn how to get excellent releases, and you wouldn't have to worry about it. If you get anything outside of an excellent release on FT, then you're leaving yourself to the equivalent of a random dice roll.

It's almost impossible to get a perfect release every time on any shot. You think I never shot a perfect release before?

Well...you sure didn't when you needed to. It just blows my mind that you'll blame the game for not awarding you the FTs when you didn't get an excellent release. You didn't get an excellent release, so you didn't deserve the FTs IMHO. If you happen to hit, then it was bonus.

I play with play art on, because I don't have the plays memorized. Plus, it helps me in knowing where my players should be at and where they're going. It help prevents those unintended turnovers where you player was open, but then they suddenly cuts towards the basket.
