Madden NFL 16 News Post


Madden NFL 16 title update #2 is available now for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It includes improvements and fixes to gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more. Check out the details below.

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where if a team called a time out on the safety punt, they would then be able to kick a regular kickoff
  • Addressed issue where sometimes a defender would have a poor pursuit angle toward the ball carrier if the ball carrier was breaking a tackle during a catch
  • Addressed issue where sometimes defensive linemen would freeze for the remainder of the play after being knocked to the ground
  • Addressed issue where the defense would not adjust alignment if the CPU controlled offensive team enacted a concept audible
  • Updated Individual Coverage adjustments to not only affect the pre-snap shading but also the post play leverage technique
  • Addressed issue where adjusting the ZONE shading would have an effect on the defenders drop location instead of just the leverage technique
  • Addressed issue where cancelling a PA Fake would allow for a 1-step drop on certain plays
  • Addressed issue where the game clock would be restarted of a declined penalty after an incomplete pass
  • Addressed issue where safeties in Cover 4 Deep assignments were reacting to run too quickly
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where defensive holding slider would reset when exiting the screen
  • Addressed issue where accelerated clock would not work in H2H CFM games
  • Addressed issue where visual feedback settings were pulling from the user’s profile instead of league settings
  • Addressed issue where some settings would carry back to the FE after playing a CFM game
  • Addressed issue where the CPU would retain an empty roster spot when simming to the regular season when there is a player on Injured Reserve (note: changes aren’t reflected until after your current season is finished)
  • Addressed issue where the user could not sort player while in the Fantasy draft board
  • Removed Kick Return as a scoutable trait (note: changes won’t be reflected until after your current season is finished)
  • CFM Trade tuning
  • Addressed issue in CFM H2H where uniforms would change back to default home/away even after changing them in the team select screen
  • Addressed a rare issue that caused some Franchise files to be corrupted, preventing players from accessing their CFM (note: this won’t repair already corrupted files, and only prevents future occurrences)
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • MUT Play a Friend quarter length boosted to four minutes from two minutes
  • In MUT H2H Seasons and Draft Champions H2H Draft, terminating the game during the load screen will give the quitter a loss and the opponent a win. In MUT, Contracts will still be removed.
OTHER
  • Play Now games were using regular season overtime rules rather than playoff overtime rules (removed possibility for ties)
  • Addressed issue in online games where the defensive timer would run out during a pause causing the game to auto pick the defensive play
  • Addressed over 100 general bug and stability issues

I played plenty of games / seasons with them on before this patch and sometimes it would take 3 games into a CFM, sometimes it would take 6 or 7. I never once played a single game in CFM and saw a +5 boost so I think you're exaggerating.

I really hope you're right but honestly people see what they want to see. With so many complaining a failure to mention any tuning says a lot more to me than a few guys reporting results after a handful of games.

Yep you're right. I'm trying to hate on a game I went out of my way to use a work around to play. I'm trying to hate on a game I said I enjoy with the work around.

Lmao! People have posted pics of that!! 15 min qrts plus 5 was real easy to get. That was the big issue with this. I'll find the pic of it. It's on here some where. I am sure a ton of people can tell you that it was that way

There is no reason to post a picture, I don't play 15 minute quarters.

So you're saying when you play a game an complete a drive goal no one gets a confidence boost? You don't see the little visual display on the screen?

No just xp. Only seen it one time in 4 games and one for time the next two where I got xp and conf. After game I go to game prep and look and only 2 times did my team say +1 do to drive goals. It was both on the defense side also. I will keep playing but something is different for sure. Sorry I said you hating, it's more like hard to believe they changed it. I agree. Not seeing it in the notes didn't even make me look for it but I was starting over anyways so I said might as well try it.

Anyone know why there is no in game drill on game prep for wr, te,and ol? I expected this to be patched. Now I am thinking this is by design since you can build up confidence with these positions. I never use confidence since it works its self out during the season. XP is pretty limited as it is so I see no reason not to have in game drills for every position.

That's a pretty significant change. I haven't had a chance to play post patch obviously but that would solve a lot of issues.

Can they improve it for Madden 17? Absolutely. Just like they gave us the ability to raise confidence below 50 to keep the playing field more level in our CFM's.

I have been playing 32 team control and it has been awesome. On the other hand I am also playing a solo offline fantasy CFM and drive goals are there and I have had basically zero issues in my enjoyment of the game.

There is a loud minority about this perceived issue. I say perceived because the guys who designed and programed the game obviously think it is just fine as it is.

They are not changing a major back of the box feature via a patch this year.

The pros and cons of this new feature have been talked about ad nausem and i am sure the team see's the various thoughts and will take plenty into account for Madden 17.

What I am saying is......it is not changing. So let's move on.

Enjoy the game. It is really good. IF you can't overlook something like that....well, that's too bad.

At least for myself....I can, I have and I am loving Madden 16.
The simple fix would be to put an on/off switch in settings. If you think uber confidence and drive goals are a fantastic idea then turn the switch on. If you want a more realistic game you can turn it off.

I have strong feeling, that patch #2 eliminates the tuning update. After patch many one handed and spectacular catches are again in the game as well as Peyton scrambling and Russel/Colin not...

That hasn't been my experience so far. If anything, I'm seeing even more aggressive play from defensive backs - especially safeties.

So all this testing with QB AWR and LT Regression all fresh new CFM files or anyone seeing this on current CFM sims without restarting.

I just want to know if I should restart my 32 team CFM to get those benefits.

Just played a quick game with a fresh CCM on 6 minute quarters, no accel and can confirm they have definitely changed Drive Goals.

It seems that now you are limited to strictly 1 point of confidence boost each week regardless of the amount of drive goals you complete. I played the game specifically trying to accomplish as many of them as possible and completed all but I think two and after the game nobody had any more than one Dynamic Drive Goal with a +1 in their confidence changes. I'm not sure if you get more XP or XP more often but it seemed like that could be the case. I don't believe they changed how it's distributed because players that didn't even play still got the +1 for doing nothing. I think they just capped it out at 1 so if you complete a drive goal, that side of the ball gets +1 for the game and that's that. There might be more to it than this but seeing as how I'm never going to be using Drive Goals I'm not going to spend any more time testing any further.

3rd post in the thread, need to give credit when credit is due.

Armour & Sword found out right away that the defensive camera was working even though it wasn't listed specifically under the patch notes.

It would probably fall under the catogory of 100 bug fixes and the same with drive goals.

So happy I can start my franchise now.

So should I install patch #2 and delete the tuner and redownload it like we had to do for patch #1 or is anyone not noticing and issues with that this time around?

Hey, that would be awesome.

I posted on the other thread but i will post it here instead.

Drive goals are very easy to find out if they are tweaked or not. Basically, when Drive goals are working before patch, you will get +1 for EVERY drive goal you met. So if you meet 6, you will get 6 boost for all players.

So by just playing one game and looking at the confidence break down you can see if they were tweaked.

I will be honest here, i didn´t even try to play a game without the workaround since there were no Patch notes and this was a HUGE issue to not be added on the patch notes if it was fixed it.

Now, looking at your screenshot, i can´t really see the confidence break down list changes, they are cut, but none seem to be showing Dynamic Drive Goals. So if that screenshot if from a game that you actually played and you did complete some Drive Goals they are definitely turned off.

When drive goals are working and you get them, they will be listed like the screenshot below.



When they are disable, by the workaround you get these



Anyone else could start a franchise and play a game without the work around, advance week and post the screenshot showing the confidence breakdown? I´m at work. for 4 more hours!

Did the patch fix the passing cam issue in CFM always being on in zoom view?

Second this. HUM DB play is better post-patch w/ the tuner installed.

I saw Woodson break on a Cover 3 assignment to drill a players breaking into a post route right as the ball arrived that demonstrated way better zone awareness and ball skills than I had seen in probably 50 games of pre-patch #2 play. And I'm seeing plenty of balls knocked out by DBs contesting the catch.
