Madden NFL 16 News Post


Madden NFL 16 title update #2 is available now for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It includes improvements and fixes to gameplay, Connected Franchise, Madden Ultimate Team, and more. Check out the details below.

GAMEPLAY
  • Addressed issue where if a team called a time out on the safety punt, they would then be able to kick a regular kickoff
  • Addressed issue where sometimes a defender would have a poor pursuit angle toward the ball carrier if the ball carrier was breaking a tackle during a catch
  • Addressed issue where sometimes defensive linemen would freeze for the remainder of the play after being knocked to the ground
  • Addressed issue where the defense would not adjust alignment if the CPU controlled offensive team enacted a concept audible
  • Updated Individual Coverage adjustments to not only affect the pre-snap shading but also the post play leverage technique
  • Addressed issue where adjusting the ZONE shading would have an effect on the defenders drop location instead of just the leverage technique
  • Addressed issue where cancelling a PA Fake would allow for a 1-step drop on certain plays
  • Addressed issue where the game clock would be restarted of a declined penalty after an incomplete pass
  • Addressed issue where safeties in Cover 4 Deep assignments were reacting to run too quickly
CONNECTED FRANCHISE
  • Addressed issue where defensive holding slider would reset when exiting the screen
  • Addressed issue where accelerated clock would not work in H2H CFM games
  • Addressed issue where visual feedback settings were pulling from the user’s profile instead of league settings
  • Addressed issue where some settings would carry back to the FE after playing a CFM game
  • Addressed issue where the CPU would retain an empty roster spot when simming to the regular season when there is a player on Injured Reserve (note: changes aren’t reflected until after your current season is finished)
  • Addressed issue where the user could not sort player while in the Fantasy draft board
  • Removed Kick Return as a scoutable trait (note: changes won’t be reflected until after your current season is finished)
  • CFM Trade tuning
  • Addressed issue in CFM H2H where uniforms would change back to default home/away even after changing them in the team select screen
  • Addressed a rare issue that caused some Franchise files to be corrupted, preventing players from accessing their CFM (note: this won’t repair already corrupted files, and only prevents future occurrences)
MADDEN ULTIMATE TEAM
  • MUT Play a Friend quarter length boosted to four minutes from two minutes
  • In MUT H2H Seasons and Draft Champions H2H Draft, terminating the game during the load screen will give the quitter a loss and the opponent a win. In MUT, Contracts will still be removed.
OTHER
  • Play Now games were using regular season overtime rules rather than playoff overtime rules (removed possibility for ties)
  • Addressed issue in online games where the defensive timer would run out during a pause causing the game to auto pick the defensive play
  • Addressed over 100 general bug and stability issues

Ok, so i just installed patch and played a existing CFM game vs Panthers with the Eagles. Multiple disappearing receivers and an EAGLES Backup DT is returning kicks for the Panthers. How does this happen?

I finally said F This and tried to super sim to end of game and it completely freezes! Crashing the game...

This game is now almost unplayable, any suggestions?

Let us know if and when there's a workaround. I tried taking his visor out, didn't work. Changed helmets too, but nothing. Haven't tried all helmets but it's getting frustrating.

I've only noticed it on Jamie too. It sucks cause that's my favorite player

Strange. I have in the in-game drills section user catching drills for TE and WR, ff drill for kickers, and punting drill for punters. A correction on my last post is that these are confidence rewards, and not XP.

Update: This was with a newly started CFM. I just tested and the new drills dont appear in my old one.

Play it again and see if it was a one time occurance. My suggestion.

I tweeted Rex. I'm sure some tuner can fix this. Really frustrating. In the meantime, if I uninstall then install offline, will I be able to keep all my saved files without any patches? Thanks.

Well dang, now I cannot use game prep. I freeze when I try to load a drill... I have to close the game and restart.

I will but so far it sounds like the LG issue is not fixed and the speed issue with drafted players and drive goals.

Week 2 of my drive goal test I took some pretty heavy confidence penalties in the loss. Apparently I didn't complete a goal that involved confidence because there wasn't a single drive goal +1 listing in the breakdown (I know some of them got me XP, though). This did happen to me in my online CFM league pre-patch too so it's nothing too unusual. In week 1 I had about 13 players get a single drive goal +1, but no more than that (although some got more for good stats and completing weekly's)

One thing I'm looking out for is multiple "Drive Goal +1's" on a single player - there's the possibility that was a bug and my be fixed. Maybe the intention of the system was to only give a player +1 confidence max per game for completing a drive goal. If that's a case it would still be an advantage over CPU teams, but not necessarily an overbearing one.

Need more games to get a clearer picture, but just wanted to give an update.

After week 1, all my dynamic drive goals just had XP boosts no confidence boosts. I'm assuming it's just coincidence and I just didn't achieve the drive goals that would boost confidence.

Some things fixed but other major issues still in game

Starting to think I should go down to rookie to really test out the drive goal thing...lol! I'm 0-3 and currently getting blasted by the Saints.

Anyway, my team-wide confidence still looks very reasonable, both because of only getting drive goal confidence in one game (and only one point) and because of multiple negative confidence drops due to bad performance. I'll screenshot the CFM menu depth chart when I finish this game - it does look strikingly different from pre-patch.

Was the stupid passing cam fixed in CFM? It would be stuck on in game even though it was selected off in the settings.

4 games with Drive goals on (1-3 record):





That's a small sample size, but it is encouraging - we all know what this screen looked like before. As mentioned previously, I only had one game out of these four where I got any drive goal confidence at all, and it was only 1 single point for about 13 members of my team. The rest of the confidence gains/drops have been due to good/bad performance.

I'm not sure what to think about it right now - the last game vs the Saints ended up being a pretty dominating performance (it turned sharply at halftime into a 41-31 Dallas win) - the kind that would have triggered multiple confidence boosts before. I still feel like it's an confidence extra boost the user is not getting, but it may have been lessened somewhat (or made much more difficult to get). That could fall in line with the vague "100 fixes" in the patch notes.

It probably doesn't change the fact that I'll still use the workaround for my own CFM - the concept itself is just wrong to me, even if the gain is indeed much smaller.

Has anyone in user leagues noticed differences in gameplay post patch? I've watched streams of about 5 user cfm games since the patch dropped and I can't tell if it's placebo or if there has been some tweaks here or there other than just safeties reacting to run differently
