Today Electronic Arts Inc. launched NBA LIVE 16 on Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system. NBA LIVE 16 highlights the brand-new LIVE PRO-AM mode, as well as the new LIVE Motion physics system. Players can express themselves both on and off the court with new gameplay mechanics, fresh gear and kicks, plus new ways to play.

LIVE PRO-AM provides players the chance to rise together with online team-play mode LIVE Run and the new cooperative Summer Circuit mode. In LIVE Run up to 10 players can compete in online games to 21 points on iconic courts like Rucker Park, Venice Beach, Terminal 23 and more. Summer Circuit allows up to five players to travel around North America challenging all-star teams as they try to become the true kings of the court. Those who have played the NBA LIVE 16 demo on Xbox One or PS4 will be able to carry over created player progress and unlocked gear, getting a leg up on the competition.

Players can find the perfect gear to express their personality, with hundreds of shirts, shoes, sneakers, and more available from top brands. Players can also get themselves in the game with the official NBA LIVE Companion (available on the App Store and Google Play) featuring GameFaceHD. This exclusive mobile scanning technology allows fans to quickly and easily scan their face and upload it to their in-game character.

Created characters can also be used in Rising Star career mode (retaining all progression across modes), and aspiring GMs can try their hand at running a NBA franchise in Dynasty mode. Players looking to build an unbeatable crew of both modern stars and past greats can jump into LIVE Ultimate Team, and those hoping to either relive or rewrite history can check out LIVE Rewind and Big Moments. Newcomers or players looking to build their skill base can jump into Learn LIVE, with multiple options for drills and practice sessions.

Fans will also be treated to enhanced gameplay in NBA LIVE 16 thanks to the new LIVE Motion physics system. Players move with purpose and react intelligently to try and get open with cuts and off-ball screens. Plus, new mechanics like touch passing and dribble handoffs make it easier than ever to orchestrate the offense and make the big play. In addition to all these features, new shot mechanics, shot meter and feedback give players instant information to help them learn exactly when to release the ball. With the variety of modes, options and gameplay upgrades, there’s something in NBA LIVE 16 for everyone.

That's the reason I'd like to hear people's opinions, I believe it will be great in 2-3 years if the plug isn't pulled on it again. Pappy and I played quite a bit of the trial and like every game, it needs some work.

You WILL help us turn that park into a sim basketball haven, you don't have a choice man.

Make sure that everyone restarts the game and gets the 9-29 update.

I pre-ordered the jordan version of 2k16 and live 16. My bias is that i have been a 2k die hard since dreamcast. That said I have played every Live in the post Elite era. All that said, NBA Live 16 is pretty dope. I love how the game communicates plays. It does a great job of letting you know whats coming 1 or 2 steps ahead. I like the shot meter a lot as well. By the end of the patching in Live 15 missing and making shots felt so random it was unbearable. This year if you miss a shot they will tell you if your player was a bad 3pt shooter, or not clutch. Very well done. There are a few awkward lay up animations but the game looks good. I still think nobody does ultimate team better than EA. MyTeam is mediocre but Live Ultimate Team is great once again. That said, the my player mode in Live is much weaker then the 2K spike lee joint. It's still too bare bones in NBA Live.

All in all, I think NBA Live 16 is worth a purchase. It is a solid basketball game. I am so excited to be back in an era with more than one NBA game worth playing. Reminds of back when I was playing Konami NBA games, with Live, and NBA Action.... feels good

It does! NBA 2K16 is phenomenal but i love the fact Live is back on trail, it is something on his own league, more arcadey and fun experience you know... i love them both.
Like the new shoot meter so much, nice idea to put meter above player head, i find not too comfortable to look under player feet on NBA 2K16 with broadcast view.

My buddy picked it up, after waiting for the new update to install we gave it a go. Right off the back, i could tell that the update fixed a lot of things things that i complained about during video. The game is extremely fun, but there are still crazy/weird things that happen that destroy my experience. Like the very first game i played, the player shot a backwards jumpshot. and it still went in. I thought that bug was being addressed. Still need some work, game is fun, but i will not purchase it at 60 dollars as i have said before. Thats just my conclusion, will get the game though, but not at retail value. I got the competition game at $36 bucks as well on pc, so no way will i spend more that that for this game at moment.

I'm really enjoying Live 16. Obviously It's not as intricate as 2K16, but it's a solid game. I've been playing 2K non-stop since Friday and played about 4-full games of Live last night. It was kind refreshing to play a more laid back brand of basketball (since 2K is such a mental grind). It'm not saying it's an arcade game; just not as sim heavy as the other tittle.

Controlling you player around the court feels very smooth. Calling plays is a blast. Shooting also feels very good. I found myself constantly thriving on the opportunity of taking open shots that were product of good basketball decisions than trying to manage my way to the rim like a maniac. Surprisingly enough, I'm having success rebounding the ball. It's not an easy task, but it can be mastered. The same goes for denying opponents at the rim. It can be done, and blocks actually look good although the warping light-speed penetrations are extremely out of context.

Graphics wise, dare I say it has surpassed the other game. Player models, textures, lightning and stadiums look amazing. The animations are coming along too, although not a strong point for the series yet and not in 2K's league.

Presentation has quietly become a highlight for the series. The ESPN packaging has finally been put to good use and the crowds are really alive!

I really love basketball and videogames, so there's enough room in my heart for both games. At the end of the day it's a fun game and that's what videogames should be all about.

My rating is a 7,5/10 (while 2K16 being a 9/10).
If they had an edit player feature I'd bump it to a solid 8.

I'm not a mod, but can we get impressions without mentioning 2k? This is not a comparison thread.

Are you able to play a season mode where you can play with all teams?

No. Hopefully it will be a top priority next year

I played my first game on the retail version a few minutes ago. NYK vs IND. I could tell off the bat that the inside shooting had been tweaked. I was seeing lots of misses inside. We were both shooting around 48% at the half. It seems to me that the contesting was turned up. I was still able to hit consistently after coming of screens. I played tons of ea access. Superstar difficulty. After I play some dynasty games I'll give my score. Definitely a substantial improvement from 14 & 15.-

This gane is a perfect example of you don't make decisions off a demo

Live is definitely the more accessible game of the two which I feel is a result of them going for a casual sim game. It's not full out nba sim but it's not as arcadey as past Live games. To me Live is an easier game pick up, play and have fun where as 2k has a bit of a learning curve to it .

I don't have the full game but based on my time with the demo and trial version this is easily the best Live game since at least 10. I didn't spend a ton of time with 10 so that is unfair for me to comment on which game is better but Live 10 was the last Live game I had fun with and actually considered purchasing.

Without question, alot of demo complaints were addressed! Will give some feedback after putting more time in but this is a very very positive change from the demo. I will check into the interior defense and report results with slider adjustments post patches.
