Yes you can. You need to change it in your controller settings.

I really hope this isn't true. Legacy defending is basically cheese.

For anyone on the XB1 there are a lot of cool audio commands you can bark out that will make you change formation, mentality, etc...

Just don't cuss, lol.

You'll get sacked in Career Mode.

Unless they changed it for 16, you can't. If you change it to Legacy, go into an online game, pause it and check the settings, it goes back to Tactical. That's how it worked in 15 and I've yet to see otherwise in 16.

As for impressions, I'll keep it very simple: the best and most well rounded sports game since...I couldn't even begin to say. Definitely the biggest leap forward in the gameplay department from one year to the next I've ever seen. It's not perfect, if I want to nitpick I certainly can find things wrong. But nothing but a standing ovay for the devs working on this game from me.

Played a game and the first thing I noticed is that I got 4+ stoppage time. Thank goodness they fixed the 5+ stoppage time bug from last year.

Played a 15min per half game against Villa, pretty much a recipe for a +5 stoppage time EVERY game last year, and 1st half stoppage time was....+2. Awesome.

67 mins left on my flight home. Travelling 900 KMH (560+ MPH for yanks) and surfing the internet from the air. Cool stuff.

Soon. FIFA will be mine.

Some of us are doing that in our heads, at our office desks!

Game is fantastic. No, it's not as varied in play style and tactics as PES, but the gameplay is damn good. I feel like a lot of the animations have been significantly cleaned up, and the general mechanics feel a lot more organic and rich. I kind of want to say it plays like FIFA 15 after messing around with sliders—except the tweaks manifest a lot more cleanly than sliders ever do.

Big difference between the demo for me is the visuals. Animations seem better, textures seem better, and the lighting seems properly implemented. Play a night game at La Bombanera and check out the lighting on the keeper's kit during a goal kick. It's not the prettiest game out there, but everything is some degree improved visually.

I'd love to see CM add some new features and depth, but I'm happy with the overall package here. It's not revolutionary, but it's a very nice iteration of the FIFA series that will keep me captivated.

EDIT: I'll just post what I mean about La Bombanera

Also, in case anyone was wondering about pre-season tournaments and small teams. I started a test CM with Bray Wanderers and got a bunch of invites to little tournaments in England and one in Spain against League 1 and 2, and Spanish second division teams.

Pretty cool actually, I elected for one of the English tournaments and it's hosted at Anfield. Fun to play in a football Cathedral in the preseason. It's where I also scored my first goal.

I highly recommend using the on field train for defensive positioning if anyone is struggling playing defense. Bumped up to World Class after running through the preseason tourney against Barca (4-0) Bayern (3-0) and the community shield against Chelsea (4-1). On World Class I only got to play one game last night but against West Ham I only got 1 goal via penalty and won 1-0. 10 minute halves. I change my tactics so ALL my midfielders come back on defense. We pressure up the pitch at 67 and pressure the dribbler at 65. I follow the direction the trainer says and wait for the CPU to make a mistake. The CPU spent a lot of time having to pass the ball around in their half. Eventually you will win possession just like in real life. You aren't just going to run up to the first guy and make the tackle right away and get the ball back. The CPU should make the safe back/cross field passes and they do it beautifully now. If you force them into a hard pass you will get the ball back. They make human mistakes.

Also, the goalie animations this year are amazing! The way the arms individually move to make reaction saves is on point.

Can't wait to see what Matt and the slider guys come up with. Best out of the box FIFA I can remember. Let's not forget how absurd last year's game was before the surprising big gameplay patch. Thankfully there is a strong base here. I'll definitely be upping first touch error.

Can you do a World Cup mode? I saw all the country teams are in there.

Okay so playing back to back Leicester vs Arsenal (w/ Matt's Sliders) I definitely like what I am seeing. First game lost to Leicester 0-1 after having Monreal give up the ball on the left side and they hit me on the counter and after that they just played defensively the whole match.

Second match drew 1-1 after them conceding a penalty just before halftime then right after break Monreal fouls a Leicester player in scoring range and they get a goal from it and again sit back and soak up pressure and try to just counter me for the rest of the game; really good games and Leicester were not becoming formulaic with there attacks something I felt that in FIFA 15 teams just became way to predictable as they would always look to play on the wing.

I am very excited to play more after dinner, as I plan to jump into team tactics and alternate some teams to see how it affects the gameplay. I will also say this, curious to see where EA Canada go from here with the series.

Well just simmed though all the transfer window in BPl and it really has not changed at all from FIFA 15. You see teams doing literally nothing, loan or transfer, though all the windows. This really does baffle me being that EA worked on team budgets, player values and even had a bullet point stating that there will be more transfers to mask real life. I started a thread about the lack of transfers and I really hope people with a Twitter will contact individuals in the links.

This is true except for the minor exception that it stays on legacy, but still plays as tactical.

So it appears to save as legacy and stays when you go back and look at settings but it is not legacy controls.
