Kenny "The Jet" Smith has joined Shaquille O'Neal and Ernie Johnson in the NBA 2K16 pre-game, halftime and post-game shows. Check out the video here and post your thoughts!
What is this new ticker that you speak of? Is it what I think it is? Don't get me hyped even more. Link or quote please. Presentation overload ... always a good thing.
Yes, my man. 2K added a sports ticker. Here it is from the MyLeague Blog:
Ticker
The most compelling aspect of a franchise mode, to me, is the storytelling. Sports are full of drama. You have star players getting hurt that change the landscape of a league. You have players demanding trades and/or getting traded. You have general league news. You have game results. You have upcoming key games. I don’t think we have ever done a tremendous job of presenting this type of information in a medium that is easy for you to consume. Enter the Ticker.
The Ticker is exactly what it sounds like. Let me start off by saying that you aren’t going to appreciate this feature until you have the game in your hands and have spent some time with it. We have carved out a space on every single screen in the modes, where we will present you with a continuously scrolling ticker containing the latest news from around the league. You’ll certainly see last night’s scores and who the leading scorers were for each team. You’ll see tonight’s matchups. You’ll see the latest news headlines. Later in the season, you’ll start to see all-star weekend content, and eventually draft previews and big boards. If you are IN THE DRAFT, you will see real-time updates of the pick order and who each team has picked.

2K has lost their freaking minds this year!!
Hot dang. How did I miss that one?
Does anyone know if there will be a ticker during on the court gameplay like how ESPN has it?
Huh, I'm confused if its similar to 2K15? There wasn't even any real halftime highlights in 2K15, but in the Shaq,Ernie, and Kenny Smith video for 2K16 it looks like there are highlights with the commentators breaking down the action of the first half.

Honestly, I don't know how anyone could keep up with everything 2K added this year. It's crazy. But I would assume that the ticker will be shown during actual games. That's where most people will spend their time. Plus with it, franchise types like myself wouldn't need to scroll through the news tabs and stuff to see what's going on in the league. Maybe someone in the know could weigh in...
1. He's shown a distinct lack of basketball I.Q, he's a terrible analyst who is stuck in his ways and is pretty much a relic at this point.
2. Hes an overweight degenerate gambler with homophobic tendencies.
3. He's an *******.
Keep him out the game. I wish TNT would keep him out of broadcasts as well.
Nate Robinson did a guest broadcast a while back for TNT. I really hope they fire chuck and hire Nate. He was much better as an analyst.
We've been over this already...People want Chuck as a commentator because they think that hey Chuck's now in the game as a commentator now we can get the '92-'93 Suns team and whatever classic teams he was on, in the game as classic teams. It has nothing to do with his broadcast skills.

If I'm not mistaken, they had a ticker in 2k10. I believe. I remember it causing serious lag (PS3) offline where I had to disable it. It was cool but the lag was too much. Hope there are no issues with it this time.
People are saying there will be a ticker at the bottom of the screen?

Regarding ticker... This reminds me, I haven't seen the ticker in action in any gameplay video whatsoever. Yes, I realize all current video shown could simply be exhibition matches, but there was one gameplay video that said something about the team losing (or winning) or something to the Mavericks the night before... Here's hoping for an in game ticker.
I do love this, but I almost wish they would do live action instead. There's really no need for them to be animated, because they look a little bit lower than the quality of the players so they seem a little out of place. Also their movements and mannerisms aren't captured that well. It's hard to capture that playful mood because the character models look really stiff. I'd love to see them do live action clips, or even just stick to mostly having them commentate over highlights, because their models are just a little creepy looking to me.
I love it though. Just need to get Charles next year.
