you can not honestly tell me that when chuck looks at this trailer, he doesn't get a little envious that his coworkers are contributing to something phenomenally unprecedented and NOT want to be included in it. I get that chuck has his values and opinions, thats for certain, he's always been incredibly opinionated, and as amazing as this is, it still feels strange when you see those three guys and the studio is chuck-less. I love what 2k has implemented though, I don't even need the TNT branding (although that would still be incredible) to think this is TNT, i'm just going to assume that everytime I pop in the game.

this season, this game is very robust. everything seems to have been taken to the next level, and I'd be surprised if this game doesn't get a unanimous 10 all around by the critics and reviews. I mean seriously, you can't tell me that this game doesnt already produce enough re-play ability.

the only question I have is have do you top this? nba 2k17 has a lot to live up to if its going to surpass it's predecessor.

Lakers24 posted the following video by the way somewhere in this thread or one of these 2k threads.

Barkley wants to get paid, probably a lot of money. That's probably the key ingredient holding back Barkley. Barkley specifically said "I want to do it, but I didn't want to do it for free...!!"

0:46 - 1:20 mark Session mark regarding NBA2k15 basketball
1:12 - 1:16 mark Barkley Comment

Barkley has openly said he might leave (retire from) Inside The NBA in a year or two. Probably a waste of resources even if they could add him!

Kenny is a great addition, glad they got him. Wonder if they'll keep the same 2K Sports Broadcast when (yes when, not if ) Barkley comes on board.

Probably for the best...I don't think there's enough polygons to recreate the man the way he seems to get wider every year.

The fact is 2k is doing the sim community a huge favor by adding these features in the game because most casual player skip past pre, post and halftime shows. OS is one of the few places on the internet where you will find people demanding these features or complaining because the scoreboard hasnt changed in this year's game.

Licensing a network's mark in a game isnt cheap. I know this because I worked on trademark licenses for the cable network I work for. I did that work for 5 years and we are talking about deals in the high hundred thousands to millions. Now, I would rather 2k spend that money on resources that would help the gameplay (new employees, additional tech) than just a logo that appears during screen wipes and on the scoreboard.
I wouldn't say they're doing anybody a favor. They're a business and their job is to make the best basketball simulation they possibly can to make as much money and please as many people as possible. The dev team is passionate for sure, but let's not act like they're cutting checks to Kenny and Shaq because it makes the OS community feel warm and fuzzy inside.

You're right, it isn't cheap. Which is why it's weird that at one point 2K was paying for ESPN licensing and selling their video games for $20 while NBA Live had it's foot on their neck. They have more money than ever before, now would seem to be the right time to be shelling out cash for licenses but whatever.

I mean it's seems like a dope set but it being black definitely takes away from it. It really distracts especially with the red and blue led lights in the background. Also, I wish they'd tone done on the 2k logo overload. If the screens in the desk displayed the teams playing it'd bring it back to reality a bit and I wouldn't be reminded every 5 inches I'm playing NBA 2k16 presented by 2kSports.

I didn't have a problem with it for the most part. It only becomes an issue to me when it's not minimized, that way it stays fresh and feels a lot more significant.

For example, the pre game show came on during the loading screen for every quick game and every MyLeague/MyGm game. If it was reserved for only playoff games or big games in MyLeague/MyGM the freshness of it would last a bit longer. I also think there should be some type of change up in the way it's presented. Right now it's pretty much just them on the set, it's now evolved into them being in the arenas during the playoffs which is dope. But maybe doing a key player focus with the players doing a little shootaround and in the playoffs have the star player sitting on the bench looking focused (think what they are doing with highlights at halftime now but these can be pre made so the system doesn't have to save replays).
I said this earlier and I was surprised no one else commented on it. The design looks awful in my opinion...don't mean to disparage what 2K has done here overall with the addition of Kenny and the expansion of the show to halftime and postgame but the design to me takes away from all of that for me; kind of like having new legendary teams with last-gen graphics. I really hope they consider updating, or at very least varying the set beyond that unfinished basement/warehouse-like setting and the overdone depth-of-field backdrop during the playoffs. Very questionable design choice as well with 2K16 and 2K prominently plastered over everything...just looks like who ever designed it completely ran out of ideas. I would even prefer the 2K15 studio to that... it wasn't sexy, but at least the color was far better.

Had to rant a bit... this takes away from an otherwise excellent product IMO.

Yeah, I liked the 2k15 studio quite a bit actually as it reminded me of the NBATV set. It just doesn't look like areal tv set now which is unfortunate as it's like every step forward there's something that makes you go "eeehhh." I never did understand the overload on logos tbh. I get having the 2k Sports logo as it's supposed to be the network they're on, but the TV screens having the exact same logos as behind them but bigger is an eyesore.
As for the playoff set, I think it's fine. The barricade behind them threw me off at first but then I realized it keeps the fan out of the image making it a lot easier to accomplish. I agree that the DOF is a bit too intense, but thinking about it more it may be a design decision to hide the upper decks of stadiums and for the lighting from jumbotrons and the led boards to stand out more.

I get your points but I'm just happy it's in the game. They have laid the groundwork and hopefully can build on it in future iterations of the game. Maybe even a thread giving them ways to improve it. I can live with this as is but again I'm with you on a lot of your ideas.

It would be cool to have team logos on the front of desk of the matchup with 2k logo in the center. A realistic set, etc. I also get if your going to do something do it right the 1st time and make a realistic looking set. But maybe they only had enough resources or ran out of time to get to the point they got to? I do have faith now that it's in it will only get better from here.

In years past and many threads it's been discussed what would we rather have? Limited modes that were all done to perfection or add as much as you can in multiple areas just so it's in and build on it later. I think from all 2k has done this year they said let's build the groundwork and touch as much as we can get too. I love that and can live with that.

Oh for sure. I'm more than satisfied and normally I wouldn't say anything about it as this is crazy since I've been wanting something like this since NFL 2k5. I just don't like some design elements they use artistically (I'm like that about lots of things though because I'm a detail nut). As for the 2k16 set, they could've got away with the 2k15 set tbh and I would've been more than happy just because they have Kenny now. Last year I was just hoping the pre game show evolved in a halftime show since the foundation was there and it looks like we received way more. I just hope they keep it simple from here on out as sometimes simpler is better (just ask them about those 2k13 Jay-Z menus ).

Keep him out the game. I wish TNT would keep him out of broadcasts as well.

Nate Robinson did a guest broadcast a while back for TNT. I really hope they fire chuck and hire Nate. He was much better as an analyst.
Tell us how you really feel though. Don't hold anything back.

That's funny because they did use Greg Anthony.

My question is how long until the studio does an interview? I think it'd be near to have shaq, ernie and Kenny asking questions to somebody after a big playoff game along with doris burke. Think MyCareer.
My argument for this would be that you get s completely different style of question from reporters and former players/analysts. Just a thought [emoji1]

I can not wait to see how this whole presentation package comes together. We have Kenny being added to the pregame. Halftime and postgame wrap up's returning. Greg Anthony is the new commentator AND we have the new ticker scrolling across the bottom of the screen keeping us informed on top of all this!!

What is this new ticker that you speak of? Is it what I think it is? Don't get me hyped even more. Link or quote please. Presentation overload ... always a good thing.

But I think that is his point. If VC was only about the money, you would see LESS features that the sim community cares about, and more features for the mass market folks. Czar and OGs blogs are a primary example of features the casual fan wouldn't even care about.
